Outfit Post – Loving Summer Fashion

It feels like this summer has gone on forever. I started rocking my summer pieces since April this year. The heat wave has been on and off since then and it feels like this has this has been the longest summer ever. It is definitely the longest summer I have ever experienced in the UK. I am grateful I am able to wear a lot of my summer pieces. I hear the heat wave would be on and off until October, which is great new for summer lovers. Summer fashion has been giving me life this year and I am not in a hurry for that bit to go away. I am seriously loving the summer pieces in the stores and my outfit post category on Fashion and Style Police has been very busy.

I am wearing this stunning Rose Cami Strap Maxi Dress – Serenna. This beauty landed on my doorstep some weeks ago and it has been worn twice already! I love the design of the dress a lot. And I think the colour is really pretty too! Definitely a perfect piece for a cooler summer day. It was very easy to style and dead comfy too! It is one of those pieces you throw on when you can’t be bothered to think too much about accessories, because it goes with almost everything.

This stunning maxi dress features cami straps with a bodycon fit. The flattering body hugging style is right up my street. It is definitely a season must-have!

Outfit Post – Styling Distressed Denim

I must confess, I am usually not a fan of the distressed denim. Finding the right distressed denim for me is always hard. Most of the pieces in the shops are not for me. So I was quite happy to find this peach ripped jeans some time ago. I cam across it while shopping online and as a seasoned online shopper, I knew it was going to be the right fit.

For this outfit, I went for a casual chic look and it worked. It was a warm day but I felt cool in this outfit.

There is something about the distressed denim that is quite catchy. Many people seem to like them, and it works great when styled correctly. As I am not a huge fan of the thread, I tend to find a few pairs of ripped jeans that I really like, and just stick to them. Styling the distressed jeans is usually easy. They are great pieces for the casual look, and they work with almost everything. They can be styled up and down with the right accessories and jewellery.

I am currently rocking these cornrows and I like them. It is a great protective for this heat wave. Wigs and all are a no-no for me at the moment because it is warm too warm, so I am happy to have this hairstyle on. It doesn’t look like this weather would be cooling off anytime soon.

OOTD: Casual Style

I took these photos the other day in London. The weather was nice and I was in the mood for some outfit photos. I am loving the casual style look this summer. I find it dead comfy and so easy to style. It literally takes me minutes to put an outfit together, and as a busy mum of 2, every minute counts.

I need my outfits to be totally comfortable, but yet very stylish! The kids are on summer holidays for the next few weeks, so that means we are super busy, trying to make the most of what we have left of summer (weather permitting), and juggling all sorts. Life is incredibly busy at the moment, but I won’t have it any other way.

How to Rock the Casual Style Look

Here are 2 style tips I stick to –

Focus on the Accessories

Keep everything else cool, and focus on the accessories. In my case, I am drawing all the attention to my sandals and my sunnies and it works. For you to get the Casual Style look right, your accessories have to do the talking. So scarves, sunnies, hats, footwear, bags, should be the focus, and not the actual outfit. And not all at once. I see some people rocking their accessories collection all in 1 outfit. That is not a good look.

Stick to a maximum of 2 colours

For you to get the casual styling look right, you should stick to a maximum of 2 clothes (not counting black or white). Anything more would be a little too much for a casual look. I would also avoid colour blocking for a when it comes to nailing a casual style, and I rather opt for monochrome colours as they are safer and easier to style casual.
