Spring/Summer 2021 Fashion Trends

The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and spring is around the corner. I am looking forward to the spring season. There is something about the nice spring weather that puts me in a fantastic mood. I am also very excited about Spring/Summer 2021 Fashion Trends. The unexpected fashion trend at the moment is all about loungewear. Many of us are working and schooling at home, so loungewear is really all we need but we can add a bit more glam to this trend with the weather getting warmer.

Here are a few ideas for you to have in mind for Spring/Summer 2021 Fashion Trends:

The Black Dress

The black dress is always a good idea for spring and summer fashion. I love having a few stylish black dresses. They work great for video calls and they are super easy to style. The piece I am wearing here is from Miss Selfridge and it is still one of my favourite black dresses. It is very comfortable and easy to style for a casual day out. I love it.

Printed Spring Jacket

Prints are almost back in season and I am ready for it!  I am looking forward to wearing some more colourful pieces this spring. This stunning piece by Alala by Aken is one of my favourite print pieces. I love the colour and design. It is a fabulous light jacket to have around this spring/summer. I am looking forward to wearing more of it now that the warmer weather is around the corner.

Head scarf

This is one fashion trend I am really excited about. I have a couple of scarves in my wardrobe. They come in so handy for lazy hair days (which is really everyday now). I currently have eye on a few stylish scarves I am looking to get this season.  It is wonderful to know this fashion trend from the 50s and 60s is coming back in a big way this year.

Fashion World – The Death of the High Street

Incase you have not noticed we are currently witnessing the death of the high street in the fashion world. Many high street shops are closing down all over the UK. The big fashion/retail giants are not left out of this, many of them have closed down a lot of their stores, and some have closed all of them, moving their business full online. The death of the high street is happening and it is quite sad to see many of my favourite shops leave. It is also horrible to know many people have lost their jobs as a result of this crisis. It makes you wonder what the high street would look like 10 years from now.

Shops image

The number of high street shops have been decreasing in the UK for many years now. Research has shown that shops in the UK have been decreasing for at least a century. Internet giants like Amazon and eBay have contributed to this decline. Many people like me rather shop online and have it delivered. Life is too busy to go into the shops to spend hours looking for what you want. It is a lot easier using the search bar on the brand’s website.

Nowadays, many people rather shop online which means business is slow in the brick and mortar section. Also, running a business online is a lot cheaper than having shops around. The online costs running a business  are between 10 per cent and 20 per cent less than running high street shops. This new way of life revolving around the big wide web has contributed massively to the death of the high street.

Some writers argue that the online shopping trend will stop in a few years and people will go back to shopping in stores. I don’t agree with that at all. That is like saying people will go back to renting DVDs over streaming on Netflix. I think shopping online trend is here to stay especially in the fashion world. It is just too convenient for consumers and cheap for businesses to run. Which is why I don’t see it going away. What I do see is the gradual death of the high street in the fashion world. More and more shops will close for good on the high street, and focus their energy and attention on running their businesses online. The future is online and the faster we embrace it, the better the shock will be for all of us.

Outfit Post – Loving Summer Fashion

It feels like this summer has gone on forever. I started rocking my summer pieces since April this year. The heat wave has been on and off since then and it feels like this has this has been the longest summer ever. It is definitely the longest summer I have ever experienced in the UK. I am grateful I am able to wear a lot of my summer pieces. I hear the heat wave would be on and off until October, which is great new for summer lovers. Summer fashion has been giving me life this year and I am not in a hurry for that bit to go away. I am seriously loving the summer pieces in the stores and my outfit post category on Fashion and Style Police has been very busy.

I am wearing this stunning Rose Cami Strap Maxi Dress – Serenna. This beauty landed on my doorstep some weeks ago and it has been worn twice already! I love the design of the dress a lot. And I think the colour is really pretty too! Definitely a perfect piece for a cooler summer day. It was very easy to style and dead comfy too! It is one of those pieces you throw on when you can’t be bothered to think too much about accessories, because it goes with almost everything.

This stunning maxi dress features cami straps with a bodycon fit. The flattering body hugging style is right up my street. It is definitely a season must-have!
