I can’t believe we are almost at the end August. Where has 2017 gone? This year is going by so fast, we only said happy new year some minutes ago right?We say goodbye to Summer in a few weeks, and usher in Autumn officially. I am seriously looking forward to Autumn fashion. There is something so comfy about it. The light layers and booties always look so stylish. I can’t wait to play dress up!

 

The beauty about Autumn fashion is that you can incorporate many of your summer pieces into your new season’s wardrobe, by styling them right. Summer and Autumn pieces and accessories can work hand in hand to create the perfect wardrobe. You may need to get some in essentials in order to pair up existing pieces and accessories correctly. The Trench Coat is one of the most important pieces when it comes to late Summer/Autumn fashion. It is an effortless stylish piece. Great for dressing up or down, and for dealing with the wet weather. I always like to have at least 2 trench coats in my wardrobe. My preferred colours are black and camel brown, like the stunning piece above, by Aquascutum London.  The minimalist design and the functionality of the trench coat makes it an absolute must-have this season.

I am usually not good with big umbrellas. They are usually misplaced somehow, so I tend to stay away from them. However, a small umbrella that would fit into my handbag would be fantastic. I like to have a scarf with me at all times, especially during the Summer and Autumn months. Scarves are fashion essentials, and I can’t be without them. They are also great multi-tasking pieces. I use a scarf for a light cover when it gets chilly. I also love styling it as a head tie or neck tie. This beautiful Pandora Bird of Paradise scarf would be a great wardrobe addition. I love the silk blend and the fact that it is lightweight. When it comes to scarves, the lighter the scarf, the better for me.

The beautiful and talented Amy Adams is on the cover of ELLE UK November 2016 and she looks so cute. I love the cover. She looks so relaxed and pretty, like a typical girl next door, and I love it. I also love the fact that she is channeling her autumn style in Balenciaga. Loving the autumn vibes.

This issue promises to be a good read. In her interview with ELLE UK, Amy discusses her struggles to balance family and work, being compared to other women in Hollywood, the issue with the pay gap and being over 40 in a competitive industry.

‘The negotiation comes to a standstill and I have to make a choice, which a lot of women do. I can walk away. But I choose not to…This is an issue not just about women’s pay; we need to work on how women are viewed in society and then the pay will be reflected in that…Right now time is more important to me. So that’s what I negotiate because any time I’m working, I’m not spending with my daughter.’

‘I gave up wanting to look like Charlize when I was, like, 12. I have short legs, I’m athletic, I have pale skin that reacts to cold and hot moisture. You just have to accept who you are. In those comparisons, I always lost.’

This five-time Oscar nominee is also the star of Tom Ford’s new film Nocturnal Animals and Sci-Fi drama Arrival, both of which are garnering five-star reviews and Oscar buzz at the moment.

I would love to read this issue. I can see myself grabbing a copy. I have always liked Amy Adams. I find her very interesting so I would naturally want to know more about her. The price usually puts me off but I have been feeling generous lately so I may get this.

September Outfits 2016

September was an interesting month of outfits on Fashion and Style Police. It was a transition month to Autumn Fashion and I loved it. As you all know, I am a big fan of Autumn Fashion with the layers and comfy pieces, so I really enjoyed styling various looks and photographing them. It was my way of saying goodbye to Summer Fashion and getting myself and wardrobe ready for Autumn.

I didn’t have the opportunity to post as many outfits as I would have wanted because September was a very busy month for me in my real life as well as my online life. But I got away with posting 3 different looks.

OOTD: It Feels Like Autumn

I had this white dress in my wardrobe for weeks before I actually wore it. I usually shy away from buying white pieces because I use to think they were not investment pieces. But I have sort of fallen in love with white, and I blame it on my Fashion Blogger friend – Moji of Moj n Touch, she makes white look so good.

I found this outfit easy to style. I was naturally drawn to the pieces and accessories. It took zero effort.

 

OOTD: A Blogger Event Outfit

I wore this outfit to the Street Style Bus Event some weeks ago, and I told you all about why I wear black to press events and all. So if you missed any of the posts, hit the links and catch up.

This outfit was easy to style as well. I am a sucker for animal prints (like you may have already noticed) when styled correctly. I have quite a few in my wardrobe.

 

OOTD: A Wedding Guest Outfit

So I saved the best for last. My favourite look in September and the most viewed outfit post is this Wedding Guest Outfit right here. I really enjoyed styling this look. It took me out of my comfort zone and I liked the finished look. This wedding guest outfit inspired a lot of my readers and I was very pleased to hear that.
