It is a new month and you know what that means for Fashion and Style Police. Well if you don’t know, it means I get to read and discuss new issues of some of my favourite UK magazines. Glamour Magazine is at the top of my list so I like to discuss her monthly issue cover first. The beautiful Jenna Coleman covers Glamour Magazine UK October 2016, and it looks good. It is a very different magazine cover compared to the recent Glamour covers, but it looks nice.

I must confess I have never heard of Jenna Coleman until this cover, so I went digging. She is a 30-year-old English actress, born in Blackpool, famous for her roles in Doctor Who, and the British soap – Emmerdale.

I use to watch Emmerdale back in the day, but I no longer watch it. I got bored but I don’t remember her character at all.

In this issue, Coleman talks about her career and her role-playing Queen Victoria in the ITV series – Victoria, saying:  “She’s this young, vibrant girl who’s full of exuberance and energy and doesn’t really hide it. I find her fascinating. You couldn’t tame her. She’s passionate and temperamental. She was a revelation to me.”

I am yet to watch the Victoria ITV, so I know nothing of what she is on about. Maybe I will give it a watch when next I stumble on it.

Apart from Jenna Coleman’s interview with Glamour Magazine, I am also very interested in some of the other features – ‘Make More Money From Your Crazy Ass Phone Obsession’, ‘The Beauty Power List’, and 558 Style Goals. They all sound like a good read. I can see myself grabbing a copy once the issue hits the newsstands on Thursday 8 September.

What do you think of this issue? Are you a fan of Jenna Coleman? Do you watch the Victoria TV series? Sound off in the comment section.

Thanks for reading xo

Kristen Stewart Covers ELLE UK September 2016

ELLE UK September 2016 Image

Kristen Stewart is on the cover of ELLE UK September 2016 issue and she looks good on it. I have not seen Kristen on a magazine cover for a bit now so this cover is a pleasant surprise. In her interview with ELLE magazine, Kristen opens up about her recent projects and her enjoying her work –

‘I have a really strong sense of identity when I’m working. If I’m having a bad day or something personal, or existential, or hormonal – if anything brings me down, I’m lucky if I have to go to work that day. And it could be anything, it could be a photoshoot for Chanel.”

Kristen also spoke about her struggle with anxiety –

‘I went through so much stress and periods of strife. I would have panic attacks…I literally always had a stomach ache. And I was a control freak and I couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen in a given situation, so I’d be like, ‘Maybe I’m going to get sick’… It’s kind of remarkable. I just grew out of it, but that’s not to say I don’t get worried.’

Good to know she is enjoying her career and dealing with her anxiety issues. I am happy to see more celebrities talking about these issues because they are real, and too many people suffer in silence.

I am not really into Kristen Stewart hair and makeup, or her outfit on the cover. But I like this picture below –

I think it is more edgy and more front-cover worthy. Do you agree?

I can’t really see what this issue is about from the front cover because there is little or nothing on the it as far as the features are concerned. Which is a shame because I don’t see myself buying a magazine without having an idea of what the magazine is about.

What are your thoughts on this issue?

Cara Delevingne Covers British Vogue September 2016

Cara Delevingne On Vogue Image

The stylish Cara Delevingne is on the cover of British Vogue September 2016 issue and she looks good. I am loving the cover a lot. I like the fact that it is quite colourful with the blue jacket and red background. I love her pose, hair and makeup, but then it is Cara Delevinge so I am surprised. She nails everything she touches!

This issues promises to be a good read. The 23-year-old model gushes about her new-found love in her interview:

“I’m completely in love… Before, I didn’t know what love was – real love,” she told us of her relationship with American singer-songwriter Annie Clark (known by her stage name St Vincent). “I didn’t understand the depth of it. I always used to think it was you against the world. Now I know the meaning of life is love. Whether that’s for yourself or for the world or your partner.”

She sounds happy so I am happy for her. Love is a beautiful thing and everyone deserves to experience it.

Cara Delevingne also talks about her transition into Hollywood, and about the gender pay gap:

“I’m still learning. I act for love. I give it my all,” she revealed of her more recent pursuit. “I would probably still do it even if I wasn’t paid at all. But in terms of equal pay I need to be paid the same as the guy who has equal billing with me. Otherwise I won’t do it. Because if you accept less, you’re just letting everyone else down and continuing the cycle.”

I agree with her 100%. I find it bizarre that we still have this gender pay issue today. I mean it is 2016. I am not going to bore you guys with my feminist views, but we really should not have to deal with the same issues previous generations had to deal with.

Apart from Cara’s interview, I would also love to read ‘The big 7 trends you’ll want to wear’ and ‘Vogue’s guide to go-getting style’. Both articles sound like a good read.

Will you be reading this issue? What do you think of the cover?
