Product Review: Neutrogena & Joules Hand Creams

In the midst of the Christmas rush and chaos, I managed to squeeze in some time to review these products – Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Concentrated Hand Cream and Joules Cottage Herb Thyme to Unwind Hand Cream. I have been using both hand creams this winter, and I have found them both very handy in this cold season. I have been using both hand creams this winter, and I have found them both very handy in this cold season.

I always like to have hand creams in my handbag and around me. I get really dry hands, so hand creams are essentials in my life, I can’t do without them.

I got this Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Concentrated Hand Cream from my local Boots store some weeks ago, and I have used it every day.

Here is the product description:

Immediate and lasting relief for even the most dry hands.

Just a dab of this glycerin-enriched formula instantly relieves and protects seriously or chapped hands.

Even under the harshest conditions, it leaves hands noticeably soft and smoother.

Concentrated for over 200 applications.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. It moisturises my hands perfectly, leaving it softer and smoother.
  2. It is so concentrated, I only have to use a tiny amount.
  3. I love the compact packaging.
  4. It is very affordable at £3.85 for a 50ml tube.
  5. It is readily available in most stores.

CONS

None.

This product ticks all the boxes for me. If there was anything at all I would like to be included in this product, would be a sweet smelling fragrance. This hand cream is scented but very mild.

I also had the opportunity to use this Joules Cottage Herb Thyme to Unwind Hand Cream and I have fallen in love with it.

I believe this product is no out of stock so I will just go straight to my thoughts on it:

PROS

  1. I love the name of the product, so creative.
  2. I adore the pretty bright packaging. I think it is so Joules.
  3. I love this hand cream. It smells amazing and leaves my hands feeling and look moisturised.
  4. I love the texture.

CONS

None. I love everything about this Joules hand cream.

I would recommend both hand creams, I think they are both great and worth every penny. If I had to pick one, I would go for the Joules Cottage Herb Thyme to Unwind Hand Cream because it has an amazing fragrance, a very pretty packaging and it does the job perfectly.

Have you used any of these hand creams before? Which do you swear by?

Product Review: AEOS Skin Products

AEOS

I had the pleasure of receiving a set of AEOS (Active Energised Organic Skincare) skincare products some weeks ago, and these products have kept me so busy. I received 10 small samples of various AEOS skin products and if I were asked to describe the products in one word, it would be – heavenly. I have never met a set of products that smell sooooooo good. Before I go any further, let me go back to the beginning…………………………

AEOS Cleansing Oil De-Maq

An oil-based cleanser containing a blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals, for skin that tends towards dehydration. The blend of sesame, avocado and spelt oils help in the removal of make-up and impurities for a gentle yet effective cleanse, whilst helping to maintain the delicate moisture balance of the skin. Can also be used for removing eye make-up.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. It smells amazing. Like, you need to try it for yourself so you understand how amazing it smells.

CONS

  1. I found it a little too oily for my face, so if you have a combination skin like I do, you may want to stay away from this product.
  2. It is £39.99 for a 75ml bottle. I find that a little too pricey for the product.
  3. It does not remove all make-up. I find that when I have full on make up on, it takes away a bit of it, but not all.

AEOS Dew Facial Wash

A gentle and mild cleansing wash containing a blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals that helps to relax the skin for easier absorption of the plant extracts, whilst conditioning and hydrating oils from neroli, lemon and honey gently refresh your complexion.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. The smell again is divine like all the others.
  2. It washes the face nicely, doing what it says on the bottle.

CONS

  1. At £39.99 for a 100ml bottle, some may find it pricey. I know I do.

AEOS Products

AEOS Refreshing Hydrating Mist

A refreshing facial mist containing a blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals offering a delicate and unique level of hydration, made from a carefully selected blend of fruit and flower hydrosols to refresh and balance the complexion. Spray a few times and enjoy its refreshing fragrance at the same time.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. The fragrance is indeed amazing. I love it.
  2. I apply this mist lightly over the face and neck immediately after cleansing my face, and before I apply moisturizers or serums, and it locks in the moisture once I do apply the moisturizers and serums.
  3. I also use it throughout the day to refresh my makeup, so I love the fact that it is a multi-purpose product.

CONS

  1. Like all the other products, I would say the price may be an issue for myself and others. At £54.99 for a 100ml bottle, this does not come cheap.

AEOS Realive Serum

A luxurious and intensive serum containing a blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals that provide a multi-layered delivery of both hydration and moisture.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. This product nourishes my skin. I have noticed a glow on my face since I started using this serum. It’s like my face has come alive.
  2. It smells amazing. I love the sweet-smelling fragrance.
  3. I apply a small amount of the Realive Serum immediately after applying the hydrating mist, in order to maximise the moisturising effect, and my skin feels well moisturised after each use.
  4. My face looks and feels a lot smoother.

CONS

  1. Just like the other products, the only issue is the price. This Realive Serum goes for £105 for a 50ml bottle.

AEOS Skin Products

AEOS Gentle Exfoliant

A gentle face exfoliant rich in seed oils and our biodynamic spelt oil which helps to nourish and hydrate the skin during the process of exfoliation, leaving the skin soft, smooth & receptive to the moisturising products to follow.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. I apply this exfoliant to my damp skin after cleansing, and it feels silky smooth, after rinsing off with lukewarm water.
  2. It is so gentle, perfect for sensitive skins.
  3. It smells amazing like all the others.

CONS

  1. Like all the others, the only issue may be the price tag. You can grab this for £35.98 for a 30ml tube.

AEOS Gentle Cleansing Lotion

A gentle cleanser containing a blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals to assist in the removal of make-up and impurities whilst helping to maintain the delicate moisture balance of the skin. Application with water stimulates the active ingredients from plant extracts and fruit oils.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. It does assist in the removal of makeup. Which simply it takes off some parts of the makeup, but not all.
  2. It smells beautifully.

CONS

  1. A 75ml bottle goes for £49.99 which I also find a bit expensive.

Energising Conditioner

A blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals encourage hydration and moisture, leading the skin to its natural balance without being too oily or too dry.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. I applied a tiny amount (2 squeezes) of the Energising Conditioner, and my skin felt soft and smooth after using it.
  2. Like all the other products, this Energising Conditioner smells lovely.

CONS

  1. A 30ml bottle goes for £54.99, too expensive.

AEOS Enriching Moisturiser

A blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals – this is the final step of the AEOS Skincare Sequence to seal in all the positive benefits of hydration and penetrative moisturisation from the previous products. This light non-greasy moisturiser is absorbed quickly to help protect and hydrate the skin. Particularly beneficial for environmentally damaged, tired skin or if you are exposed to air-conditioned environments.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin, it looks hydrated, and so SMOOTH.
  2. This moisturiser smells like a SPA, love it.

CONS

  1. A 50ml bottle goes for £58.99.

AEOS Beauty Body Shower

A gentle cleansing wash for the body, containing a blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals. Rich in rosemary, white birch and gardenia which leave the skin feeling fresh and soft.

PROS

  1. I was happy to see the light price tag of £10.99 for a 75ml bottle.
  2. It smells amazing.
  3. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft.

CONS

None.

AEOS Beauty Body Lotion

This moisturiser is full of nourishing organic and biodynamic oils and plant extracts to help hydrate and soothe, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth.

PROS

  1. I love this beauty lotion a lot. The fragrance stays on all day and it smells so good.
  2. It sorts out all the dry parts on the skin so well.

CONS

  1. A 75ml bottle goes for £35.98.

Overall, I find AEOS products AMAZING and I do recommend most of them. They help achieve a healthy glowing complexion, and that alone is worth any price tag. So if you can afford to spoil yourself, grab some of these products and enjoy a spa day at home. Your skin would thank you for it.

What do you think of these products? Have you tried any before?

Celebrate Your You-niqueness

DSCF2397

Most bloggers complain about how the blogosphere is such a saturated industry, and how difficult it is stand out or get noticed. Some bloggers wonder how they would ever get noticed with new blogs popping up every minute, with new bloggers thinking they could be the next Zoella. I kind of understand where this ideology is coming from. I mean, all you need to do is to go through the #prrequest, #bloggerswanted or #bloggersrequired (I use these hashtags too) on Twitter to understand this point of view. The blogging world is a lot noisier now than when I set up Fashion and Style Police, three years ago.

DSCF0205

Call me crazy, but I don’t see other bloggers as competitors, I see them as colleagues, and I don’t see any other blog worthy of me copying. I believe every blogger has something new to offer, a story to tell. We all go through life and have different experiences which influence our blogs, and that is our you-niqueness. It could be through how we style our outfits, our writing voice, our photographs, what we photograph, the critical eye we use in reviewing products or anything, every blogger is unique and every blog has the opportunity to shine.

DSCF2416

The problem really is bloggers not setting up blogs to stand out, not bothering or wanting to offer their readers something different. They want to go down the ‘safe route’, which they believe is guaranteed success, so they publish tried and tested posts like ‘this month’s empties’, ‘outfit of the day’, ‘product review’ and so on. They go for blog content that they believe is guaranteed to get them noticed. There is nothing wrong with this post ideas (I feature some of them), or getting inspiration from other blogs or magazines (we all do that), the issue is bloggers taking inspiration a little too far by copying other blogs, and not bothering to put their own spin on their posts.

DSCF0228

The issue is bloggers not being confident enough to celebrate their voice, they feel they have to write what everyone else is writing, wear what every top blogger is wearing, but the question is how do you stand out when you follow the pack? How do you make a name for yourself when you have nothing that sets you apart.

DSCF0050

You copy other bloggers’ poses, writing style, tweets, outfits and you want to get noticed?

DSCF0232

Everyone else is taken so I rather do ME. I celebrate my blog and all it represents, and I make sure I keep it a 100 every time I hit publish. I am not afraid to stand out. All the pictures in the post are from my early days of blogging in 2012 with my good old point and shoot Fujifilm camera, and my style being all over the place. My pictures are a lot better now with a Canon DSLR, and I have twerked my style as well, but sometimes I like to look back to where I started, so I can appreciate where I am, and keep my eye on where I want to be, and just ignore the noise.

DSCF0307

Fashion and Style Police will be 3 in few weeks and I will be featuring a big giveaway soon so keep your eye out for that. In the meantime, enter my current competitions here and here, if you havn’t already.
