OOTD: A Summer Dress for July

This is the first outfit post of July, and it is all about the summer dress. I have been meaning to feature a July fashion outfit post in weeks but I have not had the time. I took these photos weeks ago, before our summer holiday, and then forgot all about them. Good I still have some days left in July to post them.

One thing I love about the summer season, apart from the holiday bit, is the summer fashion. I love the fact that I can rock my sandals and show off my legs. I live in dresses in the summer months. They are super stylish and very comfortable. When dealing with the heat wave, the last thing I need on is a pair of jeans, or anything else that would make me even more hot and sweaty. Light, airy summer dresses, like the black floral summer dress I have on, works for me.

Almost everything I have is an Oldie but Goldie, and has been featured on the blog before. The new bits are my handbag and my Fitbit Charge 2 bracelet. If you have been reading Fashion and Style Police for a bit now, you would know all about my love for handbags. And if you didn’t know, you now know! I love handbags a lot; I am always looking to add more to my collection, and this beauty right here is the newest addition. Another confession, I am also a huge fan of Michael Kors handbags. My fan girl bag collection is growing, and I love every one of them.

This gorgeous bag is the Michael Kors Scarlett Large Tote. It is a soft pink shade, which I think is so pretty, but it also comes in black.

I love the design and look of this bag. The gold-tone exterior hardware and hanging charm is just so beautiful. I am in love!

 

Summer Dress Picture

 

The Fitbit Charge 2 bracelet is also new. I got this some weeks ago, after my old Fitbit Flex broke. I prefer the look of this Charge 2, and I am hoping this lasts a lot longer than the Fitbit Flex.

Summer Designer Dresses I Want

We are currently baking in the sunshine, thanks to the crazy heatwave! The weather has been painfully warm for a few days now, and it looks like the sunshine is going to hang around for a bit longer.

With the weather being so warm, it feels like summer is here already, which is fab for dress lovers like me. When the weather gets dead warm, all I want to have on is a dress. Wearing anything else usually does my head in. Wearing a dress keeps me comfy and stylish, so it is a win-win in the summer months.

I have been doing some online shopping for some dresses to add to my wardrobe this summer. I recently stumbled upon OD’s Designer Clothing website, and I am loving some of the fancy designer dresses they have in stock. If you know me well enough, you would know how much I like my designer labels, so this post should come as no surprise.

Here are a few of the summer dresses that caught my eye  –

I love this striped Ted Baker dress. I think it is so stylish. It would be a great dress to wear to a wedding or any glam event. It would be easy to style as well. I would style this with a pair of black or navy blue shoes and clutch bag. I could also pop on a fascinator for a WOW effect.

This is one lovely looking dress. Moschino slayed it with this beautiful piece. It is bang on trend and super stylish. It can be dressed up or down, which makes it an excellent choice for those with a capsule wardrobe. I love this dress.

What is summer without a little black dress to party in? I can never say no to a little black dress, so this piece naturally caught my eye. I adore this little black Ivy mini dress by Rebecca Rhoades. I love the style and cut of the dress. it would look amazing with a pair of heels and some simple jewellery. It can also be dressed up or down, which makes it even better.

It would be a dream to have this Vivienne Westwood piece in my wardrobe. It is a great piece to have this summer. I like the design of the dress, espeecially the ruffled scoop neckline.

So I saved the best for last with this stunning piece here! This orange Ted Baker ‘Eleese’ Skater Dress is definitely my favourite summer dress here. I love skater dresses because they suit my bodyshape. I have quite a number of skater dresses already, but I want this too! I love the colour of the dress and the fitted waist.

Colourful Summer Outfit Image

 

There is something about a nice sunny weather that makes me feel alive and ready to put on my most colourful outfit. Summer does that to me and more. I don’t know about where you are at, but where I am, it feels like summer, and I am so loving it.  The only issue I have with the warm weather, is the sudden bolt of Hay Fever that comes along with it. Thankfully I think I have discovered the right meds, and the right method of managing it. I won’t let Hay Fever ruin my summer this year, the way it ruined it last year.

Back to this colourful outfit, I wore this outfit to an event some days ago, and I got loads of compliments. I fell in love with this beautiful summer embroidered Chill Out dress as soon as I laid my eyes on it on the Joe Browns website. Bursting with bright colours and designs, what is there not to love? It is a perfect wardrobe addition this season, and it is also going to be in my holiday wardobe for the year. So if I go anywhere nice, sunny and warm, this colour block beauty goes with me. It is a laid back look but very stylish. So it is perfect for the lounging by a pool or a beach, and it is stylish enough to rock to a birthday party at the same time.
