Outfit Post – Catching the Golden Sun

Hey Fashion and Style Police lovers! How are we? The weather has been quite chilly here, but some days are warmer than others. I took this photo on one of those warmer days. It was a beautiful morning with some sunshine. I knew I had to make the most of the golden sun, and I am glad I did. I love the photos we shot. How is the weather at your end?

Here, I am wearing a new dress. It was a gift I got some weeks ago and I have been looking forward to wearing it. I am glad I got the opportunity to style the dress without tights now that I still can. I doubt I would be able to do so in the new few weeks. It promises to be very cold here in Cheshire in the next few weeks. So I am getting my tights and warmer clothing geared up in time for the cold weather. How are you preparing for winter? Is your wardrobe ready?

The leather blazer has been in my wardrobe for a bit now. I like it so much. It finishes this outfit beautifully, giving it this effortlessly chic look. I love how it looks here.

I have had the Boots for some years and I always enjoy styling them. They tend to go with most of my autumn/winter ensembles, which is how I like my footwear and bags. That way my wardrobe remains a capsule wardrobe, the way I like it.

OOTD: A Blogger Event Outfit

fashion-outfit-image

Have you told you how much I love my leopard print sandal? It first appeared here on the casual daywear look outfit post and I have worn it so many times now. It looks good with so many pieces in my wardrobe and it is dead easy to style. I get so many lovely compliments when I wear it, I guess that is because it stands out in a pretty way.

I wore this outfit to a fashion and beauty event in Chester over the weekend. I wanted a casual chic look so I went for a  simple black top with a pair of skinny jeans, paired with cream sunnies, gold and brown bag and sandals. I like to black safe when it comes to press events so I usually for a black piece because it blends right in. You would hardly see me rocking colour at an event. Don’t ask me why….

Let me tell you just incase you were wondering, I love dark pieces and I think it always looks good but doesn’t usually stand out. I like looking good but not standing out at work related events (well not much) at events, and that is the reason why you won’t catch me wearing colour at press events.

The event was fun. It is my first press event this year and I had an amazing time. I was the only blogger invited to the event on that particular day so it felt kind of exclusive and I love that about it. I met some amazing people and I am going to tell you all about in the next couple of days, so be on the lookout for the post.

5 Fashion Hacks for Jewellery

I do not wear a lot of jewellery, but the few I do wear, I like them to be quality. I won’t just put any piece on. Jewellery has the power to step up any look, once worn correctly.

Here are a few jewellery fashion hacks to remember when shopping or styling your next outfit:

All on the Wrist

Charm Bracelets Image

Drawing attention to your wrists is the oldest trick in the style bible. Opt for small and delicate bracelets or bangles if you have a slim, slender wrist like mine above, or go for chunkier wrist jewellery for larger wrists. These Corbico Bracelets are so cute.

No Necklaces on Halter-neck Tops

I see ladies rocking a halter-neck top and a necklace at the same time and it looks so wrong. I wish I could stop and tell every one of them, so I am telling as many that are reading this post. If you are guilty of the fashion mistake, please stop now.

The neck is a vocal point already, and having a halter-neck top on draws more attention to it. So rocking a necklace on a halter-neck top will just draw too much attention to it, and look odd. Instead, draw attention to your bare shoulders by rocking large hoop or drop earrings.

Layer the Bangles

I love layering bangles and bracelets. I think it is so cool, and it kind off adds the ‘WOW’ to an otherwise boring/plain outfit. I love stacking bangles and bracelets up. It creates this bold look. These Ziba Bangles are the TRUTH!

Earrings

Sparkling Earrings

I pay special attention to my earrings. I now go for quality over quantity so you won’t catch me rocking cheap plastic sterling silver earrings. I hardly necklaces on, because I like to pay more attention to my earrings. A beautiful pair of earrings, like the Hazel + Kent beauty above, can easily change an entire look. Trust me, I know.

Choker

Like I said, I hardly have necklaces on but when I do have them on, I like them to be dramatic. A choker has the power to transform a plain look to instantly. This dramatic Regal Rose choker necklace is one of my current favourites.
