I am sure you all can remember the beautiful and outspoken Yaya Dacosta from the American’s Next Top Model, cycle three. Well I can. She is now a very successful actress and fashion model, and she is our beauty muse of week.

This woman is the truth. I love her. She has a flawless skin, beautiful eyes, amazing smile, and lovely, natural curly hair. Her hair has never been relaxed. Can you imagine that? I wish I had her hair. It’s gorgeous.

Here is the secret to her beautiful face:

“Happiness is the bomb cosmetic! When I’m smiling, sometimes I’m giving thanks for all the things I have, rather than worrying about the things I don’t. Or I’m remembering how much I’ve grown in the past decade, year, or even a day – instead of beating myself up about my shortcomings. I’m replaying some silly joke my younger brother told me, or basking in the light of my older brother as he looks upon me from the spirit-world. I try to make my mood uplifting and peaceful then watch the world around me reflect that mood.

Women have been conditioned to dislike ourselves, to compete with each other and ignore the beauty in other women. We often feel we ourselves are not enough. This psychology of ‘lack’ is a source of unhappiness. Always remember, joy and peace actually look good on us! Just like we choose whether or not to where mascara, we can choose happiness.
