Product Review – Bio-Oil*

Are you into Body Oils like I am? If yes, then you should read this review.

I was introduced to Bio-Oil by a friend when I was at the University many moons ago. I fell in love with the body oil, and I have used it every day as part of my skin care routine. I mix some of the Bio-Oil with my mosituriser in a jar, and use everyday. Sometimes I apply the Bio-Oil directly to my skin after a shower.

My thoughts…

PROS

  1. It smells amazing.
  2. It is a thick oil, so a little goes a long way.
  3. It improves the appearance of skin pigmentation, scars and stretch marks, once used regularly.
  4. It moisturises the skin beautifully, replenishing the skin natural oils.
  5. It is long-lasting, as you will only need to use a tiny amount each time.
  6. It is readily available online and in stores – Amazon, Boots, eBay, Superdrug and others. Do make sure you shop around as the prices from store to store vary widely. For instance, as at today, you can get a 200 ml bottle at Boots for £19.99, while you can get the same sized bottle on Amazon for £12.99, and £6.50 for a £100ml bottle.
  7. The Bio-Oil leaves my skin smooth, shiny, soft and supple.

CONS

None.

The Bio-Oil performs just as promised, and that is why I have been a dedicated customer for years. However, I will be trying other body and hair oils. I have a few that have caught my eye and I shall be exploring them further. If you are in need of a body oil that performs brillantly, try the Bio-Oil, you would love it.

Have you tried the Bio-Oil? What are your thoughts? Which body oil are you currently loving?

  1. I love bio oil too… It has helped me get rid of the stretch marks on my bottom. It took THREE WHOLE MONTHS before I noticed them clearing up. Thankfully I continued using it, because if I don’t see results after a week, I will ditch the product tbh. Patience is what saved me!

Lovely review Stella, been silently following your blog (as per usual) lol x

  2. Bio oil is amazing! I owe it so much haha. Totally cleared up most of the scaring on my leg, bar the deep ones that will never go but it definitely took out a lot of the purple and redness. I did have a bit of an issue of it getting on my bed sheets at night though. Would recommend thick pjs that you don’t mind getting grubby :)!

  3. I’ve actually never used this but perhaps should try as I’m really struggling to find a good moisturiser for my eczema which has started to leave scars on my arms and legs!

  4. Bio oil is wonderful. I love it though not too dedicated to it but with your review l will definitely add it to my daily beauty routine. Thanks for a beautiful review.

  5. im a huge fan of bio oil and always have done, it’s perfect for everything. once you get over the thought process of oil won’t make your skin oily, it’s great. x

  6. This is seriously a bit spooky now. Just before I opened your blog, I went to my bathroom to use my Bio Oil which I hadn’t used it two years and thought about using it again regularly as the bottle is almost full and I only heard good things about it.

  7. I saw review and dashed to see your cons, none! Which is exactly what I expected, I’ve never heard anyone find an issue with it, it’s like miracle oil!
I had a very bad accident a few years ago where a few inches of skin came off of my knee. it was purple from the skin being thin for months, until I used Bio-oil. It’s almost normal! (almost)

  8. I’ve used this before but never consistently enough to see results. It seems it should be a stable in everyones skincare stash though!

  9. It sounds like a great product. I usually avoid oils because I think they leave the skin too oily, but I would like to try this one.

  10. I like bio oil too and it smells lovely! I have a really small scar next to my eye from my childhood and this really did help! I need to start using it again. I agree with it being long lasting, a tony bit goes a long way. xx
