Eye Makeup are one of the most popular types of makeup ever. Many of us wear them even though we hardly ever wear makeup anywhere else. Eye Makeup has been around for donkey years and they are always on trend. The way we wear our eye makeup has changed over the years. So has the types of makeup we use. Gone are the days of coloured mascara, or plucking all the eyebrows off to draw a line. Makeup has come a long way and today we makeup lovers now know better. However, it is still so easy to make a faux pas when applying eye makeup which is why I have these 5 eye makeup tips that ill change your life.
Use Foundation on your Lids
If you are going to apply eyeshadows, put on some foundation on your lids before brushing some translucent powder on it. This would help create the right base for your eyeshadow and the rest of your eye makeup.
Make Use of Cotton Buds to Correct Mistakes
It is so easy to get your look wrong when applying eye makeup. Wiping it all off to start again when you make a mistake is never a good idea. Instead, dip a cotton bud into eye makeup remover and gently wipe the area that need wiping. It approach works better and saves you and your eyes the hassle of wiping the entire makeup off.
Tidy up your Eyebrows
The eyebrows are the pillars of the face and must be handled with care. One wrong pluck and you may have ruined your entire face for months. But if you get it right, you can get away with little or no eye makeup if you want.
Be careful when you pluck your eyebrows. Think tidy up rather than rebuilding. Pay attention to the hairs below the brow and across the bridge of the nose.
Threading is the Best
Threading is the best way to shape your eyebrows. The practice originated in Asia and has become very popular all over the world. I prefer threading to waxing. It is a lot more painful than waxing or plucking. So if you have low pain threshold, you may want to tidy your eyebrows using a different method.

Nice
Thanks.
Very good tips. Would never have thought of the base for the eyes with foundation and powder. Great idea.
I have always used eye primer.
I am currently looking into eco cotton wool buds as my last lot are coming to an end.
My tip for applying makeup is start at the outside of your eye and work your way in, rather than start at the inner of your eye.
A makeup artist showed me this way and said it applies better so it’s what I do now.
Forgot to say I have whole of face threading once a month. I love it too. It feels so clean and fresh when it’s done. Lips are a bit ouchy however worth it
I have to keep the eyebrows tidy in between though as I cant go a month without plucking my eyebrows. They would be too messy.
Being a teen of the 70s when thin eyebrows were the thing and being fair my eyebrows never fully recovered like alot of my generation. I have cosmetic tattooed eyebrows today
I have never tried threading my entire face. That would be so painful!
Glad you like the tips Carol. Thanks for sharing that tip. I never thought to start at the outside of the eye. I will try that next time.
Can’t wait to try these!!
Let’s know how you get on 😊
I will for sure!!
