Blogging is very popular right now. Everyone I meet now knows what a blog is unlike when I started blogging in 2012. Many people had no clue what blogging was about then. There are now more blogs that ever before, which is a good thing. I like that blogging is now really popular now. It means there are a lot more blogs to read and people kind of know what you mean when you tell you blog for a living. However, because it has become so popular, there are now all kinds of blogs on the big wide web. And some of these blogs will fail in 2019.
Why many blogs will fail in 2019
Now blogging is a personal journey for every blogger. We all can’t and shouldn’t blog the same way. Variety is the spice of life which is why I like to do me on here. I am unable to cope being someone else so you will always only read blog posts I want to publish and nothing else. As personal as journey is, there are still some truths that apply to every blog and blogger regardless of your niche or where you based. Which is why you are reading this post.
Here are some of the reasons why I believe many blogs will fail in 2019.
The Lazy Bloggers
Blogging is a lot of work. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow your blog to the point where you start getting a decent amount of traffic (10,000+). This doesn’t happen overnight and it takes a lot to get your blog to the point where you can start attracting brands to spend money advertising their products and services on your blog. Many of the blogs (especially the new ones) underestimate the amount of hard work required and are shocked to see they are not an overnight success when they start blogging. If they could see the amount of work needed to have a successful blog, they may have decided to pursue something else.
Having a successful blog means you are putting in all the hours you can manage into growing your little corner on the internet. Bloggers that can’t put in the work will fail in 2019 because there are just too many options.
The Outright Copycats
I have had my fair share of dealing with copycats but I still find every encounter annoying. I had to deal with yet another blog thief some days ago and it was really frustrating. The blogger copied an entire blog post twice on his blog and refused to take it down. I had to get the host involved and his blog was eventually shut down. I know it is just a matter of time before I come across another blog thief.
If you have to browse the web in search of blog posts to copy, you will fail in 2019. It is best you find a copywriter to write articles for your blog if you desperately want to have one but can’t write.
Blogging Like Everyone Else
You have to stand out from the saturated world of blogging to make it. There is no need trying to be like another blogger. Regardless of how you think you life is, you always have something to bring to the table. It could be your unique writing voice, photography, amazing makeup or hair advice, fashion and style tips, money saving information, parenting advice, you name it, I bet someone would like to hear what you think. You trying to blog like the “popular blogs” you read would do your own blog no favours. There can only be one you, that is your selling point, so use it.
Blogs that copy other blogs in a subtle way will fail in 2019.
Not Promoting
You should be your biggest cheerleader, regardless of the sort of blog you have. I see many bloggers writing and writing post after post but not promoting. You need to drive as much traffic as you can to your blog. The easiest way to do this is by making sure each post is SEO worthy. That way it appears on search engines easily. Another way is by promoting on social media platforms to drive more eyeballs to your blog. For me, I get my traffic from search engines than social media, so I guess my SEO game is tight, but I also promote as much as I can on social media platforms to get more eyeballs. There is never anything like too much traffic.
Blogs that don’t their blog posts will fail in 2019.
These are just some of the type of blogs that I believe will fail in 2019. There is no room for mediocre in the saturated world of blogging. If you want to stand out for the right reasons, you have to put in the world, bring your originality to your blog and focus of creating unique content that would inform, educate or entertain your readers.

Yea 😊
Great advice coming from a new blogger! I don’t intend to fail. 🙂
I have been blogging since 2012, so almost 7 years in the game now.
Some good thought… great advice.. 👍👍
Thanks.
You have excellent points! I am a new blogger, I just started two days ago, I’m still trying to understand how you can SEO your blog posts. My views have mostly come from Pinterest. How did you go about efficiently optimizing your blog and getting followers for your content on social media like twitter? Did you do run a lot of ads to start? Thanks!
No I didn’t run ads initially. I set up my social media accounts years ago so it took years to get the following.
Gotcha Thanks! You have an interesting blog!
I agree with all you say here. A blog is definitely work but it doesn’t feel like it if you love it! x
Very true.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Thanks for reading Robert.
