Style Icon – Cindy Bruna

The beautiful and stylish Cindy Bruna is the Style Icon for the month on Fashion and Style Police. I came across the young lady some years ago and I was so blown away by her fashion sense and how much she has achieved in the modelling world at such a young age. Cindy Bruna is originally from the South of France but relocated to Paris some years to pursue a career in modelling. You can easily catch her on the runaway modelling for Victoria’s Secret (one of my favourite lingerie brands). She has also appeared in campaigns for Prada, Burberry, Chanel, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. This young woman is the real deal.

I love how stylish Cindy Bruna is off the runaway. She knows what suits her body shape and her hair and makeup is always on point too! I am here for it!

Bruna’s modelling future looks very bright. She has an amazing body, which ticks all the modelling boxes. Her legs are unbelievable. I like spotting new fresh faces on runaways and campaigns. It is always good to add some freshness to the fashion industry in general. I bet Cindy Bruna will be doing her modelling thing for many years to come. She has what it takes to take her modelling career to dizzy heights and she always looks good whenever she is photographed. I love her sense of fashion a lot. She is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry today.

Setting up an online fashion store in 4 steps

Many people dream of starting an online fashion store. I know I dreamt of doing that for many years. Having your own online store allows you to work from anywhere you like and for as many hours needed. It is a flexible and fulfilling way of earning an income, so if you are business oriented, having your own online fashion empire may have crossed your mind a few times.

Here are sone tips that will help you start your own online fashion store.

How to start an online fashion store

Decide on your niche

The first thing you need to do is to decide on the niche you want to focus on. That is the fastest way to grow your online fashion store. If you cast your net too wide, you may suffer for it organically. Your niche affects your sales, your customer support and the number of retuned customers, so it is worth thinking about the niche you want to focus on before you dive into it.

Your niche is the price, audience and market opportunity. Here are some questions you should ask yourself before starting –

Price – Is your product going to be low, middle or high worth items?

Audience –  Who would the products be marketed too?

Market Opportunity – Is there a gap in the market for your item?

Register your business and set up a website

Once you decide on the niche, the next thing to do is to think of a business name, register it and set up a website. This step is really important. You don’t want a business name no one remembers, so it makes sense to take a week or 2 brainstorming names for your online store. Once you decide on the name, get it registered and set up your website. Also, don’t forget to set up social media accounts on all the platforms you want an online presence on.

Hold your products or drop shipping

This is the next stage when setting up an online store. You need to decide on whether you want to hold your products or dropship. Holding your own products is usually easier in the early days when you are just starting out. You can always go for the drop shipping option later when the business is more established.

Spread the word

Once your website is live, you need to spread the word. This is where it becomes tricky for many. Customers may not appear for awhile especially if you have no funds to really market your business. Make the most of your social media platforms. Run as many marketing ads you can afford on to get more eyeballs on your website. Promote the heck out of your business and you will definitely reap the rewards. It takes a lot of time and effort to stand out but that is where your creativity comes in.

Influencer marketing is one way of getting the word out about your business. If your budget allows you, I would recommend collaborating with bloggers to help promote your brand. I offer blogger outreach service to brands, so do get in touch with me via email on the blogger outreach services if you need my help.

Fashion World – The Death of the High Street

Incase you have not noticed we are currently witnessing the death of the high street in the fashion world. Many high street shops are closing down all over the UK. The big fashion/retail giants are not left out of this, many of them have closed down a lot of their stores, and some have closed all of them, moving their business full online. The death of the high street is happening and it is quite sad to see many of my favourite shops leave. It is also horrible to know many people have lost their jobs as a result of this crisis. It makes you wonder what the high street would look like 10 years from now.

The number of high street shops have been decreasing in the UK for many years now. Research has shown that shops in the UK have been decreasing for at least a century. Internet giants like Amazon and eBay have contributed to this decline. Many people like me rather shop online and have it delivered. Life is too busy to go into the shops to spend hours looking for what you want. It is a lot easier using the search bar on the brand’s website.

Nowadays, many people rather shop online which means business is slow in the brick and mortar section. Also, running a business online is a lot cheaper than having shops around. The online costs running a business  are between 10 per cent and 20 per cent less than running high street shops. This new way of life revolving around the big wide web has contributed massively to the death of the high street.

Some writers argue that the online shopping trend will stop in a few years and people will go back to shopping in stores. I don’t agree with that at all. That is like saying people will go back to renting DVDs over streaming on Netflix. I think shopping online trend is here to stay especially in the fashion world. It is just too convenient for consumers and cheap for businesses to run. Which is why I don’t see it going away. What I do see is the gradual death of the high street in the fashion world. More and more shops will close for good on the high street, and focus their energy and attention on running their businesses online. The future is online and the faster we embrace it, the better the shock will be for all of us.
