Beauty Muse: Doctor Jackie

The lovely and talented Doctor Jackie from Married to Medicine is the Beauty Muse for this month. I am a huge fan of the reality show – Married to Medicine. The new season 9 is currently showing on Amazon Prime and you can easily catch me watching the latest episode on a Monday evening. It is entertaining to watch the lives of different doctors as they navigate their paths in medicine while living in Atlanta. Doctor Jackie is one of the original cast members and she is fun to watch. She is so into her work and she is interesting to watch.

Beauty Muse: Doctor Jackie

For those who are not too familiar with this beauty, Doctor Jackie is an Atlanta-based OB-GYN famous for her amazing work and for appearing on the reality show – Married to Medicine since 2013. Doctor Jackie is the beauty muse for this month because she is a stunner, beauty, and brains wrapped up in 1. I still struggle to believe this stunning woman is in her 60s. She looks amazing for her age. Her skin glows, her hair is so beautiful, and she always looks well put together.

She is a natural beauty, and she looks fab with or without makeup. I would love to be a fly on her beauty wall to see for myself how she cares for her skin on a daily basis, but since I can’t, I have been busy reading more about her and I know her main skincare tip is to wear sunscreen. Doctor Jackie is big on protecting the skin from the sun as much as possible and her way to do this on a daily basis is to add a drop of foundation into the sunscreen. I think that is a fab idea and I will be implementing it into my routine, especially in the summer months.

Here is an excerpt from her interview with The list:

I put mine [on] with my makeup, so if it’s in the same area of my makeup, I put a dab of foundation and I cover my entire face and neck with it so that I don’t forget it. It’s almost like I tell my patients: Put your birth control pills with your toothpaste.

How to Pick the Perfect Jewelry for Any Outfit?

How to Pick the Perfect Jewelry for Any Outfit picture

Jewelry is an essential component of everyone’s wardrobe. It can also be a great way to add personality and style to your outfit, as it’s one of the few pieces of clothing that you can wear on your body that isn’t connected to anything else. You can learn more tips on this site here.

However, it might be difficult to choose which ones are going to look good with the dress that you’re wearing. The following tips might be able to help you out:

  1. Wear Something that will Match the Occasion you’re Attending

The loose bracelets and diamond earrings are going to look great for intimate dinners and dates. The white gleam of the earrings can enhance any gown that you’re wearing, regardless of the color, and this will help you stand out from others.

When you want to wear black or plain color, you might want to go all out with your display of jewelry. The bulky bangles will look amazing even if you’re just wearing casual dresses like shorts and t-shirts.

  1. Scaling is Essential

Match the size according to what you’re wearing. The small ones can be eclipsed by an elaborate outfit, which might look underwhelming. However, wearing the larger ones might look clunky, especially if you’re going to dinner.

A pearl will do fine if you have a patterned dress, and the larger ones should be reserved for the more simple and single-colored outfits. Bib necklaces are ideal for pairing with trousers, so you might want to give them a try.

  1. Your Style is Important

Determine the pieces that you wear according to your style. Pick the accessories according to the occasion, and a simple gold chain and stud earrings might do just fine if you want a more professional look. You can go for classic looks or more elaborate ones with the help of Mimi’s Jewelry Store in Orange County, where you’ll have many choices and consultations regarding rings and necklaces. The professionals will look for a custom piece that matches your style and ensure that you get something unique to you.

  1. Necklines should be Considered

The length of the necklace should depend on your neckline, and you should aim for a more balanced and enhanced look. Clashing the necklace with your neckline will not bring any good results. However, wearing something complementary will accentuate your best features and help you gain more confidence.

The chunky necklaces are ideal for tube tops and strapless outfits. For the one-sleeved ones and off-shoulder shirts, this should have dangly jewelry that has complex designs to complement the overall look. Collared shirts do well when coupled with thin chains and a large pendant.

  1. Printed Dresses

Some people might not think about prints and floral dresses, but they should be considered. Wear earrings that look like the shape of your clothes, as well as ones that mimic the prints. The striped earrings or pendants might be ideal for maxi dresses, but don’t pair the hoops with the angled stripes.

  1. Less is More

The rule of less is more can be applicable when you’re attending something formal. Select the ones that will match your wardrobe and work with the pieces that look elegant with the gowns. Add a subtle flare when you’re wearing something formal, and you’ll never have to be out of place again.

  1. A Focal Piece is Helpful

Don’t pair two large and colorful pieces together. You might want to remove the chunky tribal necklace and attach the dangly hoops instead. Don’t try to overwhelm and end up getting a flashy look. Instead, focus on a single piece like a diamond ring that you might want to get noticed. See more about diamonds on this page: https://www.britannica.com/topic/diamond-gemstone.

  1. Bold Classics are Great Options

Wearing something bold should be paired with basic jewelry. This is to avoid having an overwhelming appearance. Try out some looks while you’re in the mirror, and always experiment. The colors and shapes should complement everything and avoid choppy and whimsical looks.

With these tips in mind, you’ll be able to pick the perfect jewelry for any outfit. Whether you’re going for a bold look or a demure one, there’s a piece of jewelry out there that will complement you perfectly. So next time you’re getting dressed for an event, don’t forget to look into your jewelry collection for the best results.

4 Ways To Make Your Home Cozier During the Winter Months

*Collaborative post.

Lifestyle blog image

With winter knocking around the corner, it won’t be long before the cold sets in. This is the perfect time to redecorate your home, do house cleaning, or prep it in some way for the coming season. Making your home cozy right now will help you in the long winter months keeping you and your family safe and warm.

If this is your first time cozying up your home this winter, then here are several tips to liven up your home for the long cold months ahead.

1. A Comfy First Impression

As the old saying goes, the first impression is often the last impression. Making the entrance to your home comfy and welcoming is a great way for guests to feel welcome in your home. You can set up a plush rug outside your door, spruce up the porch with a couple of trees, and hang a wreath of flowers or mistletoes on your door.

If you’re feeling a bit fancy you can also go for some exterior furniture and decorate them with show pieces. If you decide to buy trees or flower pots to decorate the entrance, you can easily opt for plastic ones that can be stored away during the summer months.

2.  Plush Seating

The next thing to focus on to make your home as comfy and cozy as possible is the seating arrangement. Having a plush seating arrangement in your living room and bedroom can be a great way to spice things up. Of course, cleaning and maintenance of plush furniture are a bit more difficult than your average wooden, plastic, or steel furniture but well worth the work.

The main reason you want to switch to plush furniture during winter is that this material retains body heat. Naturally, some materials are better than others for heat retention, so doing some research before buying a set is the best way to go. Usually, plush furniture made of better quality materials tends to be more expensive than other types of furniture.

If you don’t want to spend a bunch of money on new furniture then there are still ways you can turn regular furniture into comfy ones. One great idea is to buy thick blankets that fit the dimensions of your furniture and cover them with a bed sheet or loose sheet. You can also buy rugs to put on the seats and backs of the chairs to make them comfier.

3. Covered Flooring

Covering the floor is vital to keeping your home warm and cozy all the time during winter. Carpeting the floor of your bedrooms and living rooms will ensure your feet never get cold when you slip out of socks or sandals. Carpeting can be quite expensive depending on material and dimensions so make sure to study the materials and check prices online before making the final purchase.

If carpeting your home is too expensive an option for you then covering the floor with warm rugs is definitely the option to go for. If you want to go the extra mile then buy insulation strips for floors and windows and seal all cracks and open spaces in the house. Note that this technique only works if you have a wooden floor.

For concrete floors, you can laminate the flooring with well-padded underlay, like foam, to ensure your home stays warm during winter. If you want to get a bit fancy, then you can also opt for luxury vinyl as well.
4. Throws and Pillows

Last but not the least, don’t forget to place a lot of pillows and throws throughout the house for maximum coziness. Throws and pillows have been used for centuries to make homes comfy and there are many reasons why. For starters, they give off a homely atmosphere that makes your guests feel welcome.

Leaning on a pillow while reading a book beside the fireplace with the kids playing around describes the perfect winter evening for many people. You can also utilize a nice end table to store all of your essentials. Stock up on candles, books, and even reading glasses online.
