I really like this magazine cover. It looks very different from the other covers on the newsstands, which is a good thing. And Dakota Johnson looks very different on the cover too. I think she looks very beautiful. I love her makeup and hair a lot.

I know little or nothing about this cover star, I have seen the famous Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and I am not a fan of it at all. It made no sense to me, and the acting was not good enough in my opinion. There was a lot of room left for improvement. On that note, I don’t see myself buying this issue. But for those who may be thinking of grabbing it, here are some excerpts from Johnson’s interview with Glamour magazine.

On whether her parents have seen any of her movies –

“They haven’t because it’s such a tricky thing. It’s too uncomfortable for them. It’s one thing if a film has one sex scene in it, but with this, a large part of the premise is the arc of their sexual relationship, and I think that’s a little inappropriate for my family to watch.”

So sad her family can’t watch her biggest movie to date because of the very raunchy sex scenes.

On whether she can ever imagine a time when she thinks: “I wish I hadn’t done those films” –

“It comes in waves. But this project is not going to be my swan song. It has put my life on a path that I didn’t plan to go down, but I do feel proud of it. And the films have allowed me to do so many different projects and travel so much. In the end, Fifty Shades has plopped me in a world that I really wanted to be in.”

I guess Fifty Shades opened the door of fame for her. That is good.

What do you think of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie? Have you seen it? Are you a fan?

Claire Danes Covers Harper’s Bazaar February 2017

The lovely Homeland star – Claire Danes, is the cover girl for Harper’s Bazaar February 2017, and she looks stunning on both covers.

I am a huge Homeland fan. It is an adrenalin pumping series, and it keeps me at the edge of my seat all through, almost like 24. It is currently one of my favourite series. I have binged watched all the seasons on Netflix as soon as I discovered it. So I am happy to see season 6 is out. I can’t wait to watch that.

This Harper’s Bazaar cover is beautiful as usual. Claire Danes looks amazing on it. I love her hair and makeup (the red lippie always wins), and the outfit looks good too. I would love to read this issue. The interview sounds like a fab read.

Here are some excerpts from Danes’ interview with Harper’s Bazaar:

On Donald Trump and BREXIT

“I do think that England and America are so closely affiliated that it’s not terribly surprising there’s this parallel phenomenon occurring between our two countries,” Danes says. “The Brexit and Trump phenomena are informed by similar forces and social and economic movements. I think it’s been really stressful; it’s been really scary. I think we’re in a fever state and we’re all really anxious about how we’ve gotten here and why we’ve gotten here.”

Yes it is a very stressful time for many.

On her Carrie Mathison Character

“You know, I don’t think of her as female,” says Danes. “I’m playing a person. I’m playing a person. She’s just not defined at all by her sex. She is defined by her ideals, by her patriotism, by her commitment to righting wrongs, by her relationship to her mental condition [but] it’s just really beyond the more conventional stereotypes about what it is to be a woman in this world.”

I love Carrie Mathison! She is not a typical heroine, and that is what I love most about her.

Elle Fanning Covers ELLE UK February 2017

The lovely 18-year-old Elle Fanning is the cover girl for ELLE UK February 2017, and she looks beautiful.

I love how colourful the cover is. Her hair and makeup is on point (love the red lippie), and her blue outfit is very stylish. I really can’t fault this cover. ELLE ticked all the right magazine cover boxes.

I read a few excerpts from Elle Fanning’s interview with ELLE, and it sounds like it would be a great read. Here are some of them:

Limiting her social media presence

‘I recently turned my Instagram public on my 18th birthday, but I still don’t post everything I do, and I’m not on Twitter or Facebook. You have to leave a little mystery. With old movie stars, all you saw were rare interviews where they only shared what they wanted to – that’s what made them so interesting. You could separate the characters from the women, so if you watch them on-screen you’re not thinking about what they had for breakfast.’

I am impressed to see she is not as social media crazy as the rest of her peers. The deal with social media is to run it and not let it run you. She sounds like a smart young lady.

The power of silence

‘I’ve just finished shooting with Sofia Coppola and she’s one of the quietest people ever, but there’s a real power to her silence. When she just stares at you from across a take, you know you need to get the shot.’

I agree, there is real power in silence.

I would love to read this issue. I don’t see myself buying it, but I would grab it if I see it lying around in a waiting room for example.

What do you think of this issue? Will you be buying? Drop me a comment, let’s talk.
