Style Icon – Melania Trump

Since the US elections last year, President Trump has attracted a huge amount of bad publicity. His wife Melania Trump was not left out of media attention. Although not attracting attention for political reasons, Melania has been quite a fashion diva. It’s difficult to ignore Melania’s commendable fashion sense as she goes from one event to another looking amazing.

What I like about her style is she’s still in touch with her background as a former fashion model and she rocks almost every outfit anywhere she goes to, whether it’s a formal or a casual event.

In the past couple of months, America’s First Lady has kept a low profile, yet her style speaks volumes. So, I think we can still learn a lot from her personal style. Melania is clearly a woman who knows the value of quality brands. She was caught wearing styles from big names like Dior, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren.

It recently made big news that Melania wore Dior on her meeting with Prince Harry. Her black and white checked double-breasted 2 piece culotte suit looked very formal yet fashionable qualifying as a formal attire fit for the occasion.

Due to her status as the First Lady of one of the most powerful countries in the world, she is going to partake in a lot of diplomatic events and, of course, she had to learn to dress the part. She knows how to wear a suit and she knows it. Whether it is a skirt suit or trousers suit, Melania is a master at wearing both without compromising her femininity. With her matching pumps or stilettos, every suit is given that touch of elegance.

Melanie Trump’s Personal Style

If I were to use 3 words to describe her style, I would say: powerful, sophisticated and chic. I love how she blends all this with her choice of style.

There have been times when Melania Trump made really bold choices in her outfits. For example, the bright neon-pink Delpozo coat dress drew a lot of attention during her first United Nations speech. The dress was complimented by pumps of the same colour and she looked great in them.

Coats seem to be Melania’s thing as she is seen a lot in them. The black belted jacquard coat captured the mood of the occasion when she and her husband Donald Trump held a moment of silence to honour souls of the victims of the ghastly event on September 11.

Melania is quite a diva even in causal clothes, wearing outfits like a buttoned up shirt and capris or slacks. Despite that, she always knows how to add a bit of class to causal by wearing a pair of stilettos with the outfit.

Her choice of dresses has been simple and chic. Melania seems to be a fan of Monique Lhuillier and her floral number looked wonderful with her matching stilettos.

The lovely Homeland star – Claire Danes, is the cover girl for Harper’s Bazaar February 2017, and she looks stunning on both covers.

I am a huge Homeland fan. It is an adrenalin pumping series, and it keeps me at the edge of my seat all through, almost like 24. It is currently one of my favourite series. I have binged watched all the seasons on Netflix as soon as I discovered it. So I am happy to see season 6 is out. I can’t wait to watch that.

This Harper’s Bazaar cover is beautiful as usual. Claire Danes looks amazing on it. I love her hair and makeup (the red lippie always wins), and the outfit looks good too. I would love to read this issue. The interview sounds like a fab read.

Here are some excerpts from Danes’ interview with Harper’s Bazaar:

On Donald Trump and BREXIT

“I do think that England and America are so closely affiliated that it’s not terribly surprising there’s this parallel phenomenon occurring between our two countries,” Danes says. “The Brexit and Trump phenomena are informed by similar forces and social and economic movements. I think it’s been really stressful; it’s been really scary. I think we’re in a fever state and we’re all really anxious about how we’ve gotten here and why we’ve gotten here.”

Yes it is a very stressful time for many.

On her Carrie Mathison Character

“You know, I don’t think of her as female,” says Danes. “I’m playing a person. I’m playing a person. She’s just not defined at all by her sex. She is defined by her ideals, by her patriotism, by her commitment to righting wrongs, by her relationship to her mental condition [but] it’s just really beyond the more conventional stereotypes about what it is to be a woman in this world.”

I love Carrie Mathison! She is not a typical heroine, and that is what I love most about her.

Scarlett Johansson Covers Cosmopolitan UK June 2016

Cosmopolitan UK June 2016

The lovely Scarlett Johansson is gracing the cover of Cosmopolitan UK June issue, for the first time in 9 years, and she is looks fierce on it. I love the all black outfit she has going, with a bit of skin on display. The short hair looks amazing on her as well. This outfit is putting me in the summer mood already. I can’t wait to rock some summer pieces, and enjoy the lovely weather. The weather in Cheshire has been up and down like a yo-yo, for the past 1 week, so here is to hoping.

I can see this June issue clearly standing out on the newsstands, the black outfit, pose and blue background works incredibly well. It is a stunning cover, with an even more stunning cover girl. The only thing I would have wanted to see on her is her signature red lips, but her makeup here looks good too.

In this Cosmo issue, the 31-year-old outspoken cover girl bares it all. No topic is off-limits, she dishes out her thoughts on planned parenthood, equal pay for ‘every woman’, losing love and finding love, being a wife and mum to a toddler, and everything else in between. It promises to be a good read so I may be getting a copy of this. Plus it is just £1, which is great.

Cosmo Magazine UK

I love this second look. The white mesh dress and the sandals look so stylish paired together. I am loving the sandals especially, it looks fabulous.

There are other articles on the cover that look quite interesting as well. Articles like – Young, Hot & Loaded – We partied with Donald Trump’s daughter, I would love to read this simply for entertainment, I can’t stand Trump and I hope he doesn’t win the election, How to Rule the Coolest Company in the World, by the Woman who does, sounds like an inspiring read. What do you think?
