Music is a powerful tool when it comes to caring for your mind, body, and soul. I listen to music every day; my Spotify playlists are always on the go, and I am forever discovering new songs. Music can help reduce anxiety and depression, it is also great for boosting mood and increasing energy.

Staying physically active does wonders for physical and mental health. Hitting 10,000 steps a day should be everyone’s goal. This is easily done if you remain active all through the day by taking time to exercise, going for runs/walks, stretching, dancing, getting chores done, and the like. The goal is to keep moving to improve your overall health, and it works like magic.

Getting enough sleep

The power of a good night’s sleep can’t be overemphasized. Most adults need 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night to feel rested and refreshed. If you are getting less than the recommended amount of sleep, try going to bed earlier and aim for at least 7 hours of sleep every night. Quality sleep is a great way to care for your mind and body.

Nutritious diet

Food has an impact on our mental health. I find that certain healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, improve my mood, and the more healthy the food, the better for my mental health. This is why having a nutritious diet is important. We need to pay more attention to what we eat because, at the end of the day, we are what we eat. Staying hydrated by drinking enough water is also essential. I am always with a bottle of water, and that reminds me to keep drinking.

Reduce Social Media

Social media is an excellent to stay connected and to stay in the loop of things. However, sometimes it can become draining, which is not great for mental health. So reducing the time you spend on social media apps would help reduce your overall screen time which your eyes would thank you for, and it would also help you stay focused on the here and now, your own life, which in the long run, helps care for your mind.

Decluttering and Minimalist Fashion

So, I started this year with a massive decluttering project. I got rid of many items in my wardrobe. All items that did not give me joy went straight to the trash bag, and it felt liberating. Over the years, my style has changed and it keeps evolving. I now prefer and value quality pieces over quantity, and I want to embrace minimalist fashion fully. This would be me buying only items I like and need, so no overconsumption.

Many of the clothing and accessories I got in the last year or so have been decluttered, so buying some more junk won’t be happening. Going forward, I am sticking to a capsule wardrobe and I would be adding a few select pieces and accessories to fill in some gaps over the next few months.

Minimalist fashion is also going to challenge me to create more looks using the same items, which should be fun. I would be going for only quality pieces, so I plan on spending a bit more to get the accessories and clothing, as with most things, you get what you pay for. So it makes a lot more sense to spend a bit more in creating a capsule wardrobe, so it lasts longer.

I have gone past the phase of trendy clothes and I just want to keep my wardrobe uncluttered and simple, with quality items only. The Style DNA app is one of the new apps I have downloaded this year. It is not a free app, but I plan to have it just for one month, and the whole idea behind the app is to find your colour type (so colours that look best on you), style type, and body type. I have been playing around with the app, looking at different looks, and it is quite informative.   • I love all the fragrances. They smell really good. My top four favourites are Valaya, Delina, Delina Exclusif, and Meliora.
  • My top 4 fragrances are very long-lasting. They stay on pretty much all day and a little goes a long way. You don’t have to overspray these queens at all.
  • I love how different each fragrance is, there is something unique about each perfume.
CONS
  • I didn’t fancy Cassilli and Oriana. I found them a bit too light, I tend to prefer beast mode/heavy fragrances. I liked Delina La Rosee but it wasn’t long-lasting.

Overall, I am stuck on Parfums de Marly. I have quite a few bottles already in my collection and I am looking to add some more. So keep reading, there will be lots of perfume review posts coming up.
