Spring/Summer Menswear Ideas

I know many men do not really enjoy shopping. Well not like we ladies do anyway. Many of us can easily spend the entire day shopping, if possible, but that is usually not the case with the men. They usually know what they want, and go straight for it. Unlike us women, who can spend the whole day window shopping and trying out various pieces and accessories, only to end up buying nothing, lol. And that is one of the reasons why online shopping is very popular with the gents.

The men I know in real life do not enjoy shopping around but they enjoy rocking stylish pieces like these shirts here from Jacamo Website. One thing I like about the Jacamo Website is the fact that I can shop pieces from various brands. It saves me the time spent going from 1 website to the other, and it also saves money on the delivery costs as the pieces are just from 1 store.

Here are a few menswear pieces that have recently caught my eye. There are all from 3 different brands, and I think they look trendy.

Timberland Millers River Pique Stripe Polo

This is one polo shirt that should be in every man’s wardrobe this spring/summer. I think it is really stylish, and I love the fact that it is made with quality pique cotton fabric. This piece would be a fantastic wardrobe addition this season. I think it is a beauty and it definitely screams QUALITY! It would look great on a pair of jeans.

Flintoff by Jacamo Chambray Shirt Long

I love anything denim, so as expected, this Chambray Shirt caught my eye immediately. I think it looks great, and so bang on trend. It would look amazing paired with a black pair of jeans and some white trainers.

Label J Print Sleeve Polo Long

This stylish print sleeve polo shirt from the Label J Collection, features short sleeves with a check pattern and contrast front and back. It is a perfect shirt to take you from day-to-night effortlessly, and would look stylish paired with almost anything.

What do you think of these pieces? Which is your favourite? Would you style your man in any of them?

Menswear Style at BAFTAS 2016

With the 2016 TV BAFTA awards ceremony coming up on May 8th, many of us can’t wait to see who is wearing what on the red carpet. I will be paying special attention to the fellas this year, as most of them always look so dapper. Some of the men I LOVE seeing on the red carpet because of their brilliant sense of style are – Idris Elba, Leonardo Dicaprio, Michael Fassbender, amongst others.

Some of the famous looks these stylish men are usually spotted rocking on the red carpet are can be achieved from shopping at House of Fraser.

Here are some male style ideas for inspiration:

The Smart Commuter Wear

Smart Commuter Suit

This look is a regular on the red carpet. Most men go for this smart commuter look, as it is a safe option. The well-known comedian; Peter Kay from the BBC sitcom – Peter Kay’s Car Share, usually goes for this look and looks very smart rocking it. Likewise, property developer Simon Foster from the gripping psychological TV drama – Doctor Foster, is often seen in a shirt, trousers and blazer.

The Formalwear specialists Skopes Palmer, have made this outfit super comfortable to wear thanks to its high wool content, water repellency, stain resistant coating, two-way stretch, and its unique odour resist `Fresh Finish’. It is a perfect suit for the red carpet, work and everyday use in general. No wonder the celebs love it!

The Smart Casual

The smart casual look is very easy to achieve. All you will need to nail this look is a formal shirt – blue, black, white or red would look fab, and tuck it into a pair of some nice denim designer jeans and put on a blazer in a similar colour with your jeans, and you are good to go.

One of the UK’s leading artisan bakers, and celebrity chef; Paul Hollywood from BBC TV show – The Great British Bake Off, is also known for regularly stepping out rocking a smart casual outfit. This look can take you from the office, straight to the pub/bar easily.

The Trench Coat Look

Having a trench coat on definitely adds more style points to your fashion sense. Men’s trench coats have the power to upgrade your overall look for the better. No wonder it is loved by the celebs. Benedict Cumberbatch from the crime drama TV series – Sherlock, is usually seen on the streets of London and beyond wearing his trusty trench coat.

What do you think of the 3 looks? Which is your favourite?

Brown Bag Makeover

Hey peeps, happy new month! Welcome to December, the last month of 2015, whoop whoop. These last 3 months have gone by so fast, too fast, and to usher in the new month, I bring to you a slightly different post. The husband – M, takes over the blog, and he has had a makeover, yay!

Mens Outfit

The lovely people of Brown Bag offered M the opportunity to pick out some pieces from their website, and he was spoilt for choice, it took him quite awhile to make up his mind, as there are so many cool designer pieces on Brown Bag. For those who have never heard of this brand, it is an outlet store, specialising in selling premium menswear from past seasons, at great prices. I was on the site yesterday and there was a ‘get up to 80% off’ Cyber Week sale going on, it was crazy, and let’s just say, I got busy. Most items were slashed to at least 75% off, and I couldn’t stop myself. I had to shop, but it was all good because I still had some Christmas gifts to get. I am sorted for Christmas gifts now, well almost sorted I think.

Now back to this stylish outfit, M went for a Luke 1977 Abbots blue vein striped pique polo shirt. This regular fit shirt featured a classic flat knit collar, a three button placket, ribbed cuffs and a Luke 1977 badge embroidered to the chest. I love the feel and colour of this polo shirt, and the coloured stripes. It is also an excellent fit, which is great.

M also picked out a Dapper Stag quilted navy blue jacket by Woodhouse Clothing. This regular fit, made in England jacket featured a classic corduroy collar, corduroy bound cuffs, snap-flap pockets to hips and an internal zipped pocket. It is perfect for layering for the chilly months and can also be worn as a light jacket in the warmer months. I love this jacket so much, can you tell?
