The stunning Victoria Beckham is on the cover of British Vogue October 2016 issue. This cover was photographed by Lachlan Bailey and it is an amazing shot. I love Victoria’s hair and makeup. Her pose is giving me life and her outfit is to die for. She slayed this October cover. I love Victoria’s signature minimal style. She always looks so chic and elegant, but doesn’t look like she tried too hard or put a lot of thought into it. This woman is the definition of Style; she oozes it even in her sleep.

In this Vogue issue, the 42-year-old fashion designer – Victoria Beckham shared a letter she wrote to her teenage self entitled, “What I wish I’d known”, in this letter, she discusses the changing taste in fashion, her relationship with husband – David Beckham, and advice she would have given her teenage self. Here are some excerpts from the letter –

“Learn more about football, especially the offside rule,” she tells herself, referring to her husband’s former career. “And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy,” Beckham adds, disclosing the details of the couple’s first meeting.

“While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He’s not even in the first team at this stage – you are the famous one.) And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you. He’s going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)”

The Street Style Bus Event

I had the privilege of attending the Broughton Street Style Bus Event over the weekend, and I am glad to say I had a good time. If you have been reading Fashion and Style Police long enough, you would know how picky I am when it comes to blogger/press events. I get many invites on a weekly basis to various events around the country and even within Europe, and it would be impossible to attend them all. But I have decided earlier on, on how I would run my blog as a business, which means I can’t just attend events just because I am sent an invite. I usually decline 99% of the invites because they are not worth the time or effort. But this event, I couldn’t decline and good I didn’t because it was so worth it!

It was on a Saturday which was brilliant day for me to attend an event. And it was at Broughton Retail Shopping Park, which is quite local to me. It was my first time at the shopping park and I was so impressed with how big it was. The shopping park houses all the major stores and eating spots – Boots Store, Nandos, Costa Coffee, Clarks, Nike Store, to name a few. You will definitely be spoilt for choice shopping here. And there was free parking with thousands of spaces, which was a plus.

The event was pretty much inside a bus, with the fashion and beauty master classes done in a tent just outside the red bus. There was a lot going on, with the free flow of cakes and drinks, and goody bags. There was so no dull moment at all.

Various pieces from different brands were lined up inside the bus for everyone to go through. There were also opportunities for free massages and manicures, which was fantastic. But the best part for me were the fashion and makeup classes. The celebrity stylist – JP from Effort Made, introduced the trends and pieces to look for in the stores this season, and how best to style them. One piece you should be looking out for in the stores this season is The Bomber Jacket – You will definitely be seeing a lot of them around. Will you be shopping for it?

The makeup class by celebrity makeup artist – Fiona Florczak, was full of many makeup tips. She dished out tips on skincare, how to achieve the smoky eye look and the perfect eyebrows; I even had my eyebrows done by her. She is super talented. I learnt so many beauty tips and got some ideas of a couple of handy makeup products to try out, so I will be updating my makeup bag real soon. And that means more product reviews posts for you to read, yay!

It was a fun event. I had a great time, met some amazing people, and learnt a couple of style and beauty tricks.

What are your thoughts on this event? Are you loving the bomber jacket trend? Will you be rocking the smoky eye look this Autumn? Sound off in the comments section below. Thanks for reading and have a fabulous day.

Britney Spears Covers Marie Claire October 2016

britney-spears-image

It is a pleasant surprise to see Britney Spears as the cover girl for Marie Claire UK October 2016 issue I can see Britney is trying to make a comeback. I have been seeing and hearing a lot of her in the last month and I am happy to see her doing good again. I was a huge fan of Britney growing up. I enjoyed majority of her songs and I thought she was really cute but my feelings towards her and her music has changed in the last couple of years. But I am happy to see her doing her thing.

After a 3 year stint in Las Vegas, Britney Spears has made a fantastic return to the charts this month with her album Glory, currently on the number 1 spot on the charts. In her interview with Marie Claire’s writer – Louise Gannon, Britney talked about her love life, how she struggled with being famous and how comfortable she feels now that she is a mother. Here are some quotes from the interview –

Finding fame early – ‘I moved to Los Angeles when I was very young’ she said, ‘I was so under scrutiny. If a hair was out-of-place, I’d be so anxious. I would get very anxious about so many things.’

Motherhood – Becoming a mother and being with my boys [ Jayden, 9, Sean Preston, 10] has made me so much more accepting of myself. I’m their mom, whatever. That has been a really big thing for me over these last few years.’

Dating – I had a really bad date’, she told us, ‘I mean, it was really bad. I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me. In the evening I got on the scales and I had lost six pounds.’ [She continues] ‘We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it. It just didn’t work […] He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different.’

I like the cover. I would have preferred a not so serious pose, but it ticks all the boxes. I would love to read this issue and play catch up on Britney Spears’ life. It would be nice to know what she has really been up to all these years. The other features on the cover also sound very interesting. I am particularly interested in the Fashion Special article.

What do you thin of this Marie Claire cover? Are you a fan of Britney Spears?
