Rosie Huntington Whiteley Covers Harper’s Bazaar September 2016

The beautiful and elegant Rosie Huntington Whiteley Covers Harper’s Bazaar September 2016, and it is a fab cover. I really like the whole white and grey theme going on here. It kind of reminds me of the autumn/winter season, which I am crazy about.

I got this issue some weeks ago, and I must confess, it was a fab read – I finished it in 1 sitting. I have always been interested in Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s career, right from her Victoria’s Secret days.  At 29 years old, the supermodel is doing very well for herself with her brand collaborations with M&S, Uggs Australia and Paige Denim. Her business acumen and drive is what stands Rosie Huntington Whiteley out from the rest. No wonder she is also one of Britain’s most successful supermodel.

Speaking on her Autograph collaboration with M&S –

‘Since I was young, I’ve always bought vintage night-slips and lace boleros,’ she says. ‘And Marks & Spencer is this iconic British high-street store that everybody in the UK has some form of connection with. My mum took me bra shopping there for the first time as a teenager.’

‘I think everybody is so used to celebrity endorsement that feels inauthentic, but I’ve worked for lingerie brands since I was 17,’ she says. ‘It’s really important when you align yourself with a brand that it’s genuine. You have to look at the bigger picture. It’s not just transactional, it’s not just about taking a job and making money and moving on to the next thing. It’s about: what does this mean for me? Where can this go?’

I am yet to try on a piece from her Autograph collection but I would love to. I have heard so many good things about the collection.

Do you own any of the pieces from the collection? What do you think of this cover?

Anne Kendrick Covers Marie Claire September 2016

Marie Claire Sept 2016

The beautiful Anne Kendrick covers Marie Claire September 2016 issue. I like this cover. It is quite different and an old school theme to it, which is a breath of fresh air. And I am a fan of Anne Kendrick. I love her movies – I find her really funny, and I enjoy reading about her.

In her interview with Marie Claire, Kendrick opens up her Hollywood career, how she is learning to toughen up at auditions and her family life –

My family was very into open communication’ she says, ‘Weirdly it had the side effect of making me unprepared for navigating the more political aspects of the adult world.’ Until, she tell us, an audition where she walked in and told the casting directors “I don’t really think that I’m right for this but I’ll read for you and if you want to bring me back on something else…” I had such a great response, I wish I’d done it from the beginning, instead of being like, [puts on a meek voice], “Thanks so much” [then deadpans] it was fun wasting both of our time.’

Apart from Anne Kendrick’s full interview which I am dying to read, I also find some of the other features on the magazine cover interesting. It is the fashion issue, so I would want to read all about that, and also read the ‘Your Style File’ post. This issue is currently in my to read pile and I am hoping to read it over the bank holiday weekend.

What do you think of this Marie Claire September issue? Are you a fan of Anne Kendrick’s movies? She has featured in What to expect when you are expecting, The Twilight Saga, Digging for Fire, and many more movies.

Kristen Stewart Covers ELLE UK September 2016

ELLE UK September 2016 Image

Kristen Stewart is on the cover of ELLE UK September 2016 issue and she looks good on it. I have not seen Kristen on a magazine cover for a bit now so this cover is a pleasant surprise. In her interview with ELLE magazine, Kristen opens up about her recent projects and her enjoying her work –

I have a really strong sense of identity when I’m working. If I’m having a bad day or something personal, or existential, or hormonal – if anything brings me down, I’m lucky if I have to go to work that day. And it could be anything, it could be a photoshoot for Chanel.”

Kristen also spoke about her struggle with anxiety –

I went through so much stress and periods of strife. I would have panic attacks…I literally always had a stomach ache. And I was a control freak and I couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen in a given situation, so I’d be like, ‘Maybe I’m going to get sick’… It’s kind of remarkable. I just grew out of it, but that’s not to say I don’t get worried.’

Good to know she is enjoying her career and dealing with her anxiety issues. I am happy to see more celebrities talking about these issues because they are real, and too many people suffer in silence.

I am not really into Kristen Stewart hair and makeup, or her outfit on the cover. But I like this picture below –

I think it is more edgy and more front-cover worthy. Do you agree?

I can’t really see what this issue is about from the front cover because there is little or nothing on the it as far as the features are concerned. Which is a shame because I don’t see myself buying a magazine without having an idea of what the magazine is about.

What are your thoughts on this issue?
