Hi guys. I had my fifth laser hair removal session at Laser Chic Manchester, some days ago, and I am happy to say my chin never looked so good. If you have been following my laser hair removal journey, you will know all about me treating my chin, and my struggle to be hair free. Well I am glad to say I had little or no hairs to be taken off in the last session. My chin hairs have reduced drastically, in fact, there is not a single strand of hair there anymore.

The treatment has gone extremely well, a lot better than I expected, and I am extremely grateful to the people of Laser Chic Manchester for their impeccable service. I wrote about the pros and cons of having the laser treatment done, some days ago, and I did say the treatment was safe if performed correctly, this comes down to the clinic. It is very important it is to have your treatment done at the right clinic, and I cannot stress the importance of choosing the right clinic enough. If you are contemplating having the treatment done, and you are in the North West, Manchester, Cheshire areas, I would recommend the Laser Chic Clinic, simply because they are the BEST in the area.

The specialists are professionals, they know what they are doing and they use only the best machines. The atmosphere is relaxed and beautiful, you are definitely in safe hands with this guys.

I will be having my sixth and final session in a couple of months. I will be keeping an eye on my chin, and if and when I think I need my final session, I will book one in. Normally, I should have my last session in 6 weeks but bceause the hairs are not growing back, I will be saving the session for when I start to spot them. I will be writing all about it as usual, so watch this space.

My Laser Hair Removal Journey: The Third Session

Hey peeps. If you have been following my laser hair removal journey series, you would know I was due for my third session sometime in January at Laser Chic, Manchester premier laser and skin care clinic. Well, I had my third laser hair removal session some weeks ago, and I am happy to say it went as well as my previous sessions. It was as quick as my last 2 sessions, it was about 10 minutes for the actual treatment, which was great. To start the treatment, I got my makeup off my chin with some wipes, and got on the green chair as you can see above, and we got to work.

As this is my third session, my chin hair is gradually thinning out, so it was a little bit more uncomfortable than the previous sessions, because the thinner the hair, the more difficult it is for the laser machine to spot it. The level of heat on the machine was slightly increased, so I felt the heat a tiny bit more, but it was bearable.

I am half way with the laser sessions now, and I have been told the last three sessions may be more uncomfortable than the previous sessions, because my chin hair will be getting thinner and thinner, and the level of heat will need to be increased, but I am a BIG girl, so I can take it, lol..

Having this treatment done is one of the best things I have ever done for ME, next to having my second ear hole piercings. I remember having my chin hair waxed or threaded off every 4 weeks, and how I use to dread those sessions, especially the threading bit because it was just too painful All that is now a distant memory. I know I may be needing top-ups yearly or so, but that is nothing compared to having to get them chin hairs off every month.

My Laser Hair Removal Journey: The Patch Test

If you a frequent reader of Fashion and Style Police, you would know about me wanting to get my body hair taken off permanently. I have previously written about laser hair removal treatment a few times now (click here and here if you missed the posts); I have been obsessed with the treatment for a while now, so you can imagine my excitement when I had the golden opportunity to try it out with Laser Chic Clinic in Didsbury, Manchester.

Laser Chic Clinic is a skin clinic specialist in laser treatments, such as hair removal, skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, facial and leg veins. I went in for a patch test session last week Saturday and it went great. For those who do not know, a patch test session is simply an initial consultation to determine if the laser treatment is right for you. I filled out forms, and had a long chat with a lovely lady. She explained the entire process in detail,a and answered all my questions. Then, I made myself comfortable on the green chair as you can above, ready to try out the laser hair removal machine for myself. I decided to have the treatment done on my chin, I am sick of having to wax or thread every month, and the hairs really annoy when they crop up.

The patch test itself was done in about 5 minutes.  I removed the makeup on my chin with a cleanser provided by the clinic (the area has to be makeup free or the machine could spark), I had my eyes covered with a pair of glasses, then I felt some cool air, and then the heat. The laser machine was used for a few seconds on three parts of the chin – the left, middle and right.  It felt strange, painful but bearable, if you can bear threading, then you can bear this. It was over quickly, and then some ointment was applied on it.

What to expect? There was a bit of redness immediately as you can see, but that disappeared in minutes and I have had no issues with the area so far, burnt hairs; I could smell them, and my chin had a goosebumpy appearance for some hours. I have to wait for 7 days before I go for my next session, and I have that booked for this Saturday. I am looking forward to it. I will fill you guys next week on how my first full session goes so keep your eyes peeled.
