There are a lot of common problems that slowly start to eat relationships away. So it makes sense to be aware of them and to see the warning signs before they destroy your relationship. Here are some common relationship problems you may have experienced –

Extended Families Interference

The influence of extended families can make or break any relationship, that is the reality. Family members have been breaking homes for decades now, and it is not going to end anytime soon. So it makes sense to be aware of this as soon as you go into a relationship. The best way to avoid family members causing problems in your relationship is to set up the boundaries from day 1. That way everyone knows what is accepted and what is not accepted. And everyone falls in line.

Couples should also ensure they do not let their family members get in their head on issues pertaining their spouses/partners. Some parts of their relationship should be kept private to them (except a form of abuse is going on ).

Financial Issues

They say money is the root of all evil. I disagree because I believe the love of money is the root of all evil. Money is good, but it is the way we go about getting it and how we handle it that matters. So it comes as no surprise to see that financial issues is the number 1 reason why many relationships fall apart.

Money problems can cause strains in even the best relationships, so this is something every couple should be aware of. The best way to deal with finances is by being open with one another. Having honest communications about income earned and how bills should be paid would help. There should be no secret debt or credit card. Everything financial should be known by both parties involved.

Lack of Trust

When trust is broken, it is very difficult if not impossible to get it back 100%. So couples should ensure they do not lose the trust of their other half. Affairs and betrayals would lead to lack of trust, which usually means the relationship is over in the heart, even though it is not over in real life.

Trust is very important in every relationship, so we need to ensure we protect it in other for the relationship to thrive. There is no relationship without trust.

Lack of Communication

The should be open lines of communication in every relationship. A relationship is over once you stop communicating. It is pointless when you can’t have a conversation with your spouse/partner without it leading to an argument. Or when you both can’t communicate about anything at all. When you have nothing in common to talk about.

It is sad to see many couples who don’t communicate. Many have no clue what is really going on in the other person’s life. There is no relationship without communication.

These relationship problems can be solved when both parties involved are honest with each other and ready to put in the work to save what they have. Getting help form a professional couples therapist would help, so it is worth looking into that if you are dealing with relationship issues.

How Peppermint Essential Oil Almost Killed Me

As shocking as this blog post title may sound, it is true. Peppermint Essential Oil almost killed me some weeks ago, and I would feel dead guilty if I didn’t share my experience with the internet. So let me start from the beginning. I won’t be naming the exact name of the branded diffuser and peppermint Essential Oil I used because I don’t believe it is relevant. What happened to me would likely have happened even with a different brand of essential oils.

How it all started

So I got my hands on some bottles of essentials oils and a diffuser and decided to give them a go. Prior to me trying these oils, I have heard a lot about them and their benefits. So I was eager to experience it all. I got my hands on some little bottles of Peppermint Essential Oils (about 3/4ml) and I diluted it with water because there were no clear instructions on how to dilute them. I didn’t know how many drops to add or not add, so I poured in the entire oil of the tiny bottle into water. Now that I know what I know, that was a crazy thing to do. I am writing this post to share my story and educate others on how the adverse effects can be avoided.

The Peppermint Essential Oil attack

The diffuser had instructions that stated it could be use for 12 hours straight. I was planning to have it on for a few hours before dashing out for the school run. So I settled down on the sofa with my laptop and took it all in. At first, it started off great. I liked the fragrance and I found it all relaxing. After an hour of the diffuser being on, it suddenly started. I couldn’t breathe and I felt really dizzy. The whole room started to spin really fast and I thought my head was going to explode. I struggled to get off the sofa and away from the living room, into the hallway.

Once I got out, I then realise I had to switch the diffuser off. So I struggled to get back into the living room to switch off the diffuser get out as fast as I could. I then thought of going outside but I was worried I would fall down and bang my head. The whole room was still spinning very fast and I felt I was choking. It felt like I was having an out-of-body experience. The ground was vibrating, it was so scary.

The aftermath

So I opened the windows and doors, and dashed upstairs to the bedroom as fast as I could. After about 15 minutes, the room spinning reduced but I still felt very sick and dizzy. I was also craving for sugar all of a sudden. I think it was my body guiding on what to do to save myself. So I got my hands on some juice and cookies, and that helped a lot. I got the toxic smell out of the house and started to feel slightly better after a few hours. But I still didn’t feel like my old self. My old self took weeks to fully come back and my body is not 100% back to how I was prior to the essential oil incident, if I am being completely honest.

Why this happened

This happened to me because I had no idea how strong essential oils are. I thought they were just like any other fragrance oil. If I knew how strong they were I won’t have ever tried them. I won’t have taken the gamble. One thing that shocked me was the lack of instructions on the bottle. For such a strong and can I say dangerous product, I was quite shocked it didn’t have clear instructions on how to use. I was also shocked the diffuser stated it could be use for 12 hours. After the experience I had and the extensive research I have now done, I think 12 hours of using essential oils is a very ling time. You really shouldn’t be having it on longer than for 30/40 minutes maximum.

What I found even more shocking is the lack of information online. It took me forever to find relevant information on the dangers of essential oils and how best to use them. Most of the essential oils information online is wrong. They are all about the amazing benefits of essential oils and hardly anything about the dangers of using them wrongly.

My advice

I hope this post comes in handy for someone today. I am not completely against essential oils but I don’t recommend them. If you are going to use any essential oil, make sure you know what you are doing. Treat essential oils as you would prescription drugs. I don’t see myself ever using essential oils by myself again. Essential Oils have become very popular and many see them as the next thing to try. But we need to remember that there is so much power in that little bottle. If you don’t need it, don’t use it. There are loads of beauty/health products around today, but we don’t have to use them all.

It Pays To Be Productive

It doesn’t matter where you are, what you’re doing, or what you should be doing should we say. It always pays to be productive. If you think about the amount of time that you spend just doing nothing, surely the days would pass by in your mind. Life is all about making the most of every moment, as our grandparents would say. But how many of us actually listen to this advice?

How many of us seize every opportunity, make the most of everything we do, and can honestly say that we’re productive? Pretty much none of us can, which is why we want to write this article. We want to show you what it means to be productive., and how you can ensure that you always are being.

What Even Is Productivity?

So, we want to start with this first. What does it even mean to be productive? Well, let’s first tell you what it means to not be productive. What you’re doing now probably isn’t productive. You’re either at work, and reading this rather than working. Or you’re at home, reading this, and trying to find a way that you can become more productive. Whilst we aren’t trying to remove you from this article, we’re trying to point out that when you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing, or procrastinating as it were. \

Productivity is doing the opposite. It’s thinking to yourself, I need to get x amount of things done, and making sure that you get it done. We’re so good at giving ourselves little rewards such as thinking, ‘i’ve just done the washing up, now I deserve to sit down for the rest of the night and do nothing else that I wanted to.’ If you can get out of this mindset, your whole idea of productivity will change, and you will accomplish so much more.

How Could More Of It Benefit Us?

It could benefit you as the more you do, the more you’re able to enrich your life. We’re missing out on so many opportunities because of this procrastination we have spoken about. If you find ways to be more productive, you can actually add time back to your day. If you take out those little reward breaks you’ve been giving yourself, all of your tasks will be done so much earlier, and all of a sudden you actually have free time to do what you want at the end of the day. It will become a revelation for you, so just give it a go!

Why Does It Pay?

The more time you’re able to free up for yourself, the more you’re going to experience life. For one, your mind won’t feel as clogged with all the tasks that you have to do, and you can start thinking about things you actually want to do. It could be getting back in to reading, going to the gym, or just generally being a more involved person in life if that makes sense. If you’re self employed and learn to manage your time more, then you’ll definitely get paid more.
