Sensible Shopping Tips

I like shopping. I enjoy the process of finding something new. I am not an impulse buyer. I go for only things I really need, and all my purchases are always planned and budgeted in advance. Gone are the days of just splurging like there is no tomorrow. I guess is all part of adulting right?

I like to shop smartly, so I always go by these sensible shopping tips so I don’t waste my time or money.

 

Check the washing instructions

I always check the label for the washing instructions before buying. I tend to avoid dry clean garments because they are too expensive to maintain, except I really LIKE the piece.

 

No retail therapy

I don’t shop when I don’t feel good. Shopping when I am down is the fastest way to empty the bank account. I rather have a spa day, watch a movie, read a book or speak with family/friends, than shop.

 

Think about it

I think long and hard before I part with my cash. I work too hard to just throw money around so no impulse buying here. Before I buy a new item, I make sure I need it, I make sure it blends in with my existing wardrobe, I make sure I can afford it, and I make sure it suits me.

 

Shop around for bargains

I always aim to shop the sales, I don’t like buy anything full price. So if it is not urgently needed, I wait until it is on sale, then buy it then. Or I go to a designer outlet, where most items are usually discounted. There are a couple of designer outlets in the UK, so have a look around online, and find your nearest designer outlet.

Keep your receipts and leave the tags on

Now this is a very important tip. I have had to keep items I didn’t like because I was too quick to rip the tags off or misplaced my receipts. For example, I have a pyjamas thing going on, I like to have a couple of new pyjamas every year, and I got a few from a local store some weeks ago. I got them in my regular size so I didn’t think the fit would be wrong but it was. This particular pyjamas had a different fit, and it was a little too big, but I ripped the tag off before I noticed, so I had to keep it.

The moral of the story is to check it fits and you are very happy before you rip the tags or lose the receipts.

Eva Longoria in Julea Domani Camel Peplum Dress

Hey Fashion Lovers! How are we? Today, I bring to you this beautiful woman – Eva Longoria; she is wearing a camel peplum dress by Julea Domani. This dress features a wrap silhouette, buckle accents, and a midi length. Her stylish matching camel sandals are by Manolo Blahnik.

I love this look on Eva Longoria. I think she looks amazing. I am a lover of peplum designs. I think they look great on almost every woman, and this piece right here is a stunner. Eva has a lovely figure, and this Julea Domani peplum dress shows it off perfectly. I also really the camel colour, it looks beautiful next to her golden skin.

The only issue I have is the fact that it is a midi length. I usually prefer my lengths to be a mini or a maxi, I never really know what to do with a midi length. Plus I believe the length never looks good on me (blame it on my 5″2 height). But I think Eva pulled this off nicely. She is also a petite woman, (also 5″2, so we are petite buddies), but I think she nailed this look nicely because she went for a similar shade with her sandals, so it looks like full-on maxi look, if you get what I mean. If she wore a different shade of sandals, this look may have been ruined.

The other issue I have is the price of the piece, it currently retails at $435 (£350), which is a lot to cough off for 1 dress by an “unknown designer”. It is a beautiful piece, but I won’t spend that much on a dress. And I am sure Eva Longoria didn’t spend that much either.

Hey fashion lovers! Since we are still fresh in the new year, I thought we should chat about fashion mistakes to avoid this 2017. Because even the best and the most stylish fashionistas can make poor style choices sometimes.

Wrong Sizing

So many реорlе get their sizing so wrоng. You need to ensure you buy the right size of сlоthing. If thе сlоthing doesn’t fit, don’t buy it. And if you have bought it already, don’t wear it.

If уоu аrе losing weight, make ѕurе you buу сlоthеѕ thаt fit your new size or hold off shopping until you are done with the weight loss. When I am in between sizes, or trying to lose weight, I like to shop for dresses online, simply because I get better bargains and options, and dresses are easier to rock when I am in between sizes. Whеn buуing clothes, mаkе ѕurе you сhесk the ѕizing and ensure you get your right size for the store. Sizes mean different things in different stores and countries.

 

Wrinkled Clothes

You should never step out of your house lооking wrinkled! I hate ironing but I hate looking wrinkled a lot more, so I make sure my clothes are well ironed.

Contrary to рорulаr bеliеf, it iѕ not ѕеxу оr attractive tо hаvе a viѕiblе panty or bra linе. Always wear lingеriе thаt ѕuits what you have on.

Each уеаr, fashion designers bombard us with new pieces and accessories in various designs. However many оf the high fаѕhiоn designs do not ѕuit thе regular wоmеn. Always opt for designs that suit your body shape and personality.
