Product Review: Clinique Nude Pop Lipstick & Primer

This is Clinique Creamy Nude Lipstick is my very first Clinique Lipstick and also my very first nude lipstick. I got this lipstick sample from a Tanya Blur Glamour Magazine November 2015, and I must say I am very happy I got to try a nude lipstick for free and tell you all about it.

I love seeing nude lipsticks on ladies. I think it is a pretty lip colour but I never had the balls to try it. I always thought it would look weird on me because of my skin tone and I was so right. Before I dive into the review, here is what Clinique has to say about their ‘Pop Lip’ Lipstick range.

Luxurious yet weightless formula merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer. Glides on effortlessly to a modern-velvet finish. Colour stays true, keeps lips comfortably moisturized for 8 hours. Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance Free.

Here are my thoughts on this lipstick:

PROS

  1. I love the packaging a lot. I looks so pretty.
  2. I like the fact that it is a lipstick and a primer in 1.
  3. It moisturises my dry lips perfectly.
  4. I like the smooth texture.
  5. It is readily available in Debenhams, House of Fraser, Boots stores and many other stores for about £16.

CONS

  1. I don’t like the colour on me at all. It is a pinky nude and it doesn’t suit me.
  2. It is not long-lasting. Wears off pretty quickly.

Overall, I am not impressed with this lipstick at all. The shade is not for me. It gives me the ‘washed out’ look. I am also not happy with the staying power of the lipstick. It does not stay on long at all. I am happy I got to try this for free before buying as I have always wanted to try a nude lippie. There are many more colours in the Clinique Pop Lip Lipstick range, and a few of them do look nice. The Berry Pop, Passion Pop and the Cherry Pop look right up my street. Debenhams stocks the whole range, so may give them a go some day.

What do you think of this Clinique Nude Pop Lipstick & Primer? Have you tried any lipstick from Clinique’s Pop Lip range?

Tanya Burr Covers Glamour Magazine UK December 2015

Glamour Magazine

I have been trying to decide if I should put an end to the magazine covers monthly series. I enjoy having the covers on the blog and it is one of the first blog series I started so there is a bit of an emotional attachment. Having said that, I am trying to focus more on the quality of my blog posts so I am still undecided on how to proceed, so while I am trying to make up my mind, here is the talented Tanya Burr posing for Glamour Magazine UK.

Tanya is the first British blogger/vlogger to cover the magazine and I am so excited to see her on it. This is some real good news for the blogging community as a whole. The magazine pack also includes a sample of Clinique lipsticks, so go grab yours now.

What do you think of the Tanya Burr on the cover?

2015 BAFTA Awards: Worst Dressed Women

1. Claudia Winkleman

EE British Academy Film Awards 2015 - VIP Arrivals

I really don’t know who this woman is but she looked a HOT mess at the BAFTA Awards yesterday. Everything is wrong, the hair, sandals, dress, everything. I didn’t bother checking to see what she had on. If you do know, sound off in the comment section.

BAFTAS 2015 AWARDS

Never heard of this lady before but I think I will remember her name now with this horrible dress she has on. So basic, nothing WOW about it. I didn’t bother checking the designer name as well. BAFTA Awards celebrities are not impressing me at all.

3. Hayley Atwell

EE British Academy Film Awards 2015 - Red Carpet Arrivals

A bodycon dress to the BAFTAS Awards? Are you kidding me? This is wrong on every level. Sack your stylist, if you have one.

4. Romola Grant

EE British Academy Film Awards 2015 - VIP Arrivals

I don’t like this blouse and skirt combo going on her. No BAFTA Award worthy in my eyes. Not stylish enough. Nice colours though.

5. Tanya Burr

EE British Academy Film Awards 2015 - VIP Arrivals

Tanya Burr wore this Jenny Packham dress to the BAFTA Awards yesterday. This dress was a bad choice for Tanya, too plain, doesn’t hug her body in the right places, that slit would have looked better, a bit higher. Tanya Burr should have worn a better fitting dress. A black ball or a mermaid gown would have looked beautiful on her.

Which is your worse look?
