Fashion & Style Police Reviews NEEK Lipsticks

I got these vegan NEEK Lipsticks some days ago, and they have kept me really busy. It is my first time trying products from the brand, so I was eager to try out these lipsticks.

NEEK Lipsticks Image

NEEK Lipsticks retail at £15.99 and are  available in eight luxurious shades. So there should be a shade for every woman. I got the kiss me kiss me and mystify shades.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS
  1. I really like the wooden packaging. It is very different, and stands out beautifully!
  2. NEEK does not test on animals, which is amazing. Good to see more brands standing up for what is right!
  3. These lipsticks are 100% natural. All NEEK Lipsticks are paraben, lead, sulphate, phthalate, mineral oil, palm oil and chemicall FREE.
  4. The ingredients in the lipstick are printed on the label, so you know what is in each.
  5. Both lipsticks keep my lips moisturised.

CONS

I love the kiss me kiss me shade. It is a glossy fuchsia pink shade and it looks good on me. I really like the mix of pink and blue tones. This Lipstick has a nourishing base of shea butter, jojoba and avocado oils, which keep the lips hydrated. I am so in love with this shade and the catchy name.

The NEEK Mystify is a gorgeous cocoa brown shade with a bit of pink. It is made on a lipbalm base of shea butter and jojoba and avocado oils and then coloured naturally with micas and pigments. So it feels amazing on the lips. Especially with this chilly weather.

I tried Rimmel London’s New Only 1 Matte Lipsticks; all 9 of them, so you don’t have to. Thanks to the lovely people at Rimmel London, these lipsticks landed at my doorstep last week. If you follow me on social media, you will know how busy these beauties have kept me.

I usually shy away from many lipstick shades. I like to stick to the tried and tested shades; shades that look good on me. So to receive these amount of lipsticks in various shades, some I may not have ever considered trying, is great because it means I can experiment for the both of us, and you can go off to get the shades you really like (wink wink).

Before I get into the shades and swatches, let me tell you more about the formula behind the Only 1 Matte Lipsticks – It is a long-lasting, non-drying colour, moisture and wear. It is dead easy to apply and very comfortable to wear. It won’t dry out your lips like other famous matte lipsticks, it actually keeps the lipsticks moisturised, which is a first I have seen with a matte lipstick.

There are 20 colours available, I was sent 9 –

500 Take the Stage

800 Run the Show

700 Trendsetter

200 Salute

810 The Matte Factor

610 High Flyer

750 Look Who’s Talking

120 Call The Shots

110 Leader Of The Pink

I didn’t have the time to line my lips like I would usually do. These pictures are just to show off the lipstick shades.

120 Call The Shots

I really like this shade on me. It is my kind of colour. I love the shade of darkvpink and I will definitely be using this lipstick regularly. It kind of reminds me of a similar shade of lipstick I have in my makeup bag already. Call The Shots definitely does call the shots, it is a keeper.

750 Look Who’s Talking

rimmel-london-look-whos-talking-picture

The Look Who’s Talking is a dark brown shade I kind of like. It surprisingly looked good on me. I wasn’t expecting it to look good. I would likely wear this under a brighter shade of lipstick though, but I do like the overall look.

500 Take the Stage

take-the-stage-lipstick-image

Now this shade right here is my favourite shade of all. I love the shade of pinkish red. It suits my skin tone perfectly. It definitely takes the stage! Take the Stage is my favourite shade!

The swatch photo didn’t come out right and I only just realised while typing this post, in the dead of the night, so apologies for that.

610 High Flyer

rimmel-london-high-flyer-image

I love the texture of this lipstick, like I love all the others but that is where my love for it ends. I don’t like this nude shade on me at all. It made me look washed out.

800 Run The Show

Now this purple shade took me outside my safe spot as far as lipsticks are concerned. This is one shade I won’t have dreamt of trying or buying but I kind of like it. It is a lipstick I would wear when I want a completely different look.

700 Trendsetter

rimmel-london-trendsetter-picture

This Trendsetter shade is a very nude shade and way too pale for me. It didn’t look good on me at all. This shade is my least favourite of them all. I am sure it would suit others, but it is not my shade.

110 Leader Of The Pink

rimmel-london-matte-lipstick-the-leader-of-the-pink

Leader of the Pink lipstick shade is a Barbie kind of pink. I prefer my pink lipsticks darker, so this shade is not the right for me either. But I bet it would look amazing good on many.

200 Salute

rimmel-london-salute-lipstick-image

This Salute lipstick surprised me. I didn’t think I was going to like it at all but I did. I think I have found the perfect nude lipstick. And I really like it!

810 The Matte Factor

the-matte-factor-image

I really like this shade. It is another favourite of mine. I love the deep red shade. It is perfect for the current season. I can see myself wearing a lot of this shade this autumn/winter.

These shades are great. I am certain there is a shade or 2 for every girl in this collection. My 2 favourite lipstick shades are 810 The Matte Factor and 500 Take The Stage.

Product Review: Clinique Nude Pop Lipstick & Primer

This is Clinique Creamy Nude Lipstick is my very first Clinique Lipstick and also my very first nude lipstick. I got this lipstick sample from a Tanya Blur Glamour Magazine November 2015, and I must say I am very happy I got to try a nude lipstick for free and tell you all about it.

Clinique Nude Lipstick Image

I love seeing nude lipsticks on ladies. I think it is a pretty lip colour but I never had the balls to try it. I always thought it would look weird on me because of my skin tone and I was so right. Before I dive into the review, here is what Clinique has to say about their ‘Pop Lip’ Lipstick range.

Luxurious yet weightless formula merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer. Glides on effortlessly to a modern-velvet finish. Colour stays true, keeps lips comfortably moisturized for 8 hours. Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance Free.

Here are my thoughts on this lipstick:

PROS

  1. I love the packaging a lot. I looks so pretty.
  2. I like the fact that it is a lipstick and a primer in 1.
  3. It moisturises my dry lips perfectly.
  4. I like the smooth texture.
  5. It is readily available in Debenhams, House of Fraser, Boots stores and many other stores for about £16.

CONS

  1. I don’t like the colour on me at all. It is a pinky nude and it doesn’t suit me.
  2. It is not long-lasting. Wears off pretty quickly.

Overall, I am not impressed with this lipstick at all. The shade is not for me. It gives me the ‘washed out’ look. I am also not happy with the staying power of the lipstick. It does not stay on long at all. I am happy I got to try this for free before buying as I have always wanted to try a nude lippie. There are many more colours in the Clinique Pop Lip Lipstick range, and a few of them do look nice. The Berry Pop, Passion Pop and the Cherry Pop look right up my street. Debenhams stocks the whole range, so may give them a go some day.
