What will become of fashion blogs

CoronaVirus has completely changed the world. The fashion industry is one of the main industries affected by COVID-19 pandemic. For now, gone are the days of fashion shows, and even shopping on the high street isn’t for everyone with the new rules and regulations. Plus, with the current state of the economy, going on a shopping spree is probably the last thing on many people’s minds. Shopping is now down to necessity rather than a luxury. Which makes me wonder what will become of fashion blogs in these uncertain times.

The high street is disappearing.

Many high street giants are closing shops in many locations all over the world. Our local Dorothy Perkins recently announced they were closing down the store for good after 30 years of being in town. Debenhams, M&S, and many more have announced job cuts and store closures all over the UK. The current state of events makes me wonder what will become of fashion blogs. If stores are closing down and people are losing jobs, will showcasing new pieces/accessories make sense? What will happen to blogs and websites that only feature personal style posts?

The pandemic is definitely going to affect every content creator. Let’s face it; life has changed and adjustments have to be made. The UK is officially now in a recession. Many people are now more interested in content that would help them, rather than simply entertain them.

Blog how you want!

At the end of the day, our blogs and social media platforms are our little corners on the internet. There is the freedom to create whatever and whenever you want as long as it is legal. I won’t share certain content on here because of what is going on in the world. My approach to blogging has changed over the years, and me having a lifestyle blog allows me to write about whatever I want to write about. I am thankful to have that creative freedom. If Fashion and Style Police stayed as a pure fashion blog like how it started, I would have been in a very bad situation now. I know some bloggers have had to sell their blogs which is sad. Luckily, I decided to go down the lifestyle blogging route within a few months of blogging.

What will become of fashion blogs?

I really don’t know. I stopped reading pure fashion blogs when I stopped blogging just fashion. Instagram seems to be the place for showcasing fashion and style, and I see more than enough on there. I wonder what will become of fashion blogs.

Product Review: Clinique Beauty Products

Hey yah! How are we? I am doing great, happy as a bunny, and I have another product review post to share. It is still all Clinique. I have been busy in the beauty department in my Local Debenhams store and I can’t wait to tell you all about the beauties I got. Debenhams currently has discount code 10% off 50GBP starting this Wednesday, so get in time to get what you need on the spectacular sale. I get discount codes off a website called Codesium. The website has loads of discount codes for Debenhams, and many other websites, so it is definitely worth checking out.

Back to the beauties I got, here they are –

Clinique Pop™ Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Graffiti Pop 2.3g

I have used this Clinique Pop Lipstick for weeks and it is the best Clinique Lipstick I have ever used!

Here is the brief product description –

Weightless yet pigment-saturated formula, Clinique Pop™ Matte Lip Colour and Primer hugs lips with 8 hours of creamy matte comfort. Built-in primer helps smooth lips for an easy, even glide every time.

Here are my thoughts on this Clinique Lipstick –

PROS

  1. I love the pink shade. It suits my skin tone.
  2. It is very long-lasting, and easy to apply, as it contains primer already!
  3. It can be bought in many beauty stores.
  4. I love the texture of the lipstick.

CONS

None. I love everything about this particular shade of lipstick. I will be buying it again.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturiser

I have used this Clinique Moisturiser for some weeks and I like it. Here is a brief description –

This oil-free moisturiser instantly helps to blur imperfections while providing all-day hydration. Skin looks naturally perfected with a matte finish. Wear it alone, or under foundation. It’s so lightweight you can use it for touch-ups throughout the day. We call it your new favourite filter…the ideal way to give your skin the moisture it needs, and the forgiving ‘retouch’ that blurs the look of pores and fine dry lines.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. This moisturiser really preps my skin for makeup. My foundation just slides through with this on.
  2. It is fragrance free.
  3. It feels good on my skin. I love the texture, and the matte finish.
  4. It is a great multi-tasking product.
  5. It contains SPF.

CONS

None. I love this moisturiser, and I recommend it 100%. I will be using it again for sure.

Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover

This is another new Clinique Beauty product I have been trying lately.

Here is a brief description –

Makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips. Unique, two-way formula that loosens the grip, then speeds the departure of the most persistent, eye makeups, mascara and lipsticks. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for contact lens wearers.

Works on all skin types.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It does the job; it gets makeup off.
  2. It is compact, so easy to carry around.
  3. It is great for all skin tones, and gentle on the skin.

CONS

  1. I found it too oily for my skin.
  2. It does not wash off easily.

It is a handy makeup remover, but I won’t be buying this again.

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream

I am starting to step up my skincare regime, so I am getting into eye creams and all. I have been using this Clinique Eye Cream for some weeks now, and I find it OK.

Here is the brief description –

A pep rush for eyes. Just 3 seconds to look wide awake, refreshed. Hydrates, brightens, perks you up. Its cool touch and de-puffing tip help keep eyes looking fresh. Smooths the way for makeup, too. Have it on hand. Ophthalmologist Tested.

Here are my thoughts –

  2. I love the texture of the eye cream.
  3. It feels great on my skin.
  4. It is easily accessible in many beauty stores.
  5. A little goes a long way.

CONS

  1. I have not noticed any difference in my eye area.

I won’t be using this product again.

Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser

Now this is the best cleanser I have used in a long time. I am so in love with it.

Here is a brief description of this cleanser –

Effectively removes long-wearing makeup and sunscreen quickly and gently. Skin feels moist, clean, and fresh. Contains chamomile. Concentrated formula is long-lasting.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It wipes up every trace of makeup, and leaves my skin very clean.
  2. Like all the other Clinique products, a little goes a long way. You only need a pea sized dot.
  3. It is fragrance free.
  4. It washes off easily.
  5. It is great for all skin types.

CONS

None.

I love this cleanser so much. I recommend it to everyone, and would be buying it again. It is so good.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Mascaras are one of my favourite makeup products, as they have the power to transform the eyes. I have been playing around with this Clinique Mascara, and it ticks all the right boxes for me.

Here is the brief description –

High Impact Mascara is a multi-benefit mascara that adds maximum volume with definition and length. Specially developed brush and formula work together to dramatically thicken lashes while separating.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It is great for sensitive eyes. I wear contact lens, and it does not irritate my eyes at all.
  2. It thickens and separates my lashes.
  3. Only a little bit is needed for the full effect.
  4. No smudges.
  5. It stays on all day, and easy to take off.

CONS

None.

I recommend this mascara and will be buying again.

All Clinique products came with this pretty little makeup bag. So handy for travels and extra makeup. I love it.
