What will become of fashion blogs

CoronaVirus has completely changed the world. The fashion industry is one of the main industries affected by COVID-19 pandemic. For now, gone are the days of fashion shows, and even shopping on the high street isn’t for everyone with the new rules and regulations. Plus, with the current state of the economy, going on a shopping spree is probably the last thing on many people’s minds. Shopping is now down to necessity rather than a luxury. Which makes me wonder what will become of fashion blogs in these uncertain times.

The high street is disappearing.

Many high street giants are closing shops in many locations all over the world. Our local Dorothy Perkins recently announced they were closing down the store for good after 30 years of being in town. Debenhams, M&S, and many more have announced job cuts and store closures all over the UK. The current state of events makes me wonder what will become of fashion blogs. If stores are closing down and people are losing jobs, will showcasing new pieces/accessories make sense? What will happen to blogs and websites that only feature personal style posts?

The pandemic is definitely going to affect every content creator. Let’s face it; life has changed and adjustments have to be made. The UK is officially now in a recession. Many people are now more interested in content that would help them, rather than simply entertain them.

Blog how you want!

At the end of the day, our blogs and social media platforms are our little corners on the internet. There is the freedom to create whatever and whenever you want as long as it is legal. I won’t share certain content on here because of what is going on in the world. My approach to blogging has changed over the years, and me having a lifestyle blog allows me to write about whatever I want to write about. I am thankful to have that creative freedom. If Fashion and Style Police stayed as a pure fashion blog like how it started, I would have been in a very bad situation now. I know some bloggers have had to sell their blogs which is sad. Luckily, I decided to go down the lifestyle blogging route within a few months of blogging.

What will become of fashion blogs?

I really don’t know. I stopped reading pure fashion blogs when I stopped blogging just fashion. Instagram seems to be the place for showcasing fashion and style, and I see more than enough on there. I wonder what will become of fashion blogs.

Hey yah! How are we? I am doing great, happy as a bunny, and I have another product review post to share. It is still all Clinique. I have been busy in the beauty department in my Local Debenhams store and I can’t wait to tell you all about the beauties I got. Debenhams currently has discount code 10% off 50GBP starting this Wednesday, so get in time to get what you need on the spectacular sale. I get discount codes off a website called Codesium. The website has loads of discount codes for Debenhams, and many other websites, so it is definitely worth checking out.

Back to the beauties I got, here they are –

I have used this Clinique Moisturiser for some weeks and I like it. Here is a brief description –

This oil-free moisturiser instantly helps to blur imperfections while providing all-day hydration. Skin looks naturally perfected with a matte finish. Wear it alone, or under foundation. It’s so lightweight you can use it for touch-ups throughout the day. We call it your new favourite filter…the ideal way to give your skin the moisture it needs, and the forgiving ‘retouch’ that blurs the look of pores and fine dry lines.

Here are my thoughts –

  2. It is fragrance free.

This is another new Clinique Beauty product I have been trying lately.

Here is a brief description –

Makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips. Unique, two-way formula that loosens the grip, then speeds the departure of the most persistent, eye makeups, mascara and lipsticks. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for contact lens wearers.

Works on all skin types.

Here are my thoughts –

  3. It is great for all skin tones, and gentle on the skin.

CONS

  1. I found it too oily for my skin.
  2. It does not wash off easily.

It is a handy makeup remover, but I won’t be buying this again.

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream

I am starting to step up my skincare regime, so I am getting into eye creams and all. I have been using this Clinique Eye Cream for some weeks now, and I find it OK.

Now this is the best cleanser I have used in a long time. I am so in love with it.

Here is a brief description of this cleanser –

Effectively removes long-wearing makeup and sunscreen quickly and gently. Skin feels moist, clean, and fresh. Contains chamomile. Concentrated formula is long-lasting.

Here are my thoughts –

I love this cleanser so much. I recommend it to everyone, and would be buying it again. It is so good.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Mascaras are one of my favourite makeup products, as they have the power to transform the eyes. I have been playing around with this Clinique Mascara, and it ticks all the right boxes for me.

Here is the brief description –

High Impact Mascara is a multi-benefit mascara that adds maximum volume with definition and length. Specially developed brush and formula work together to dramatically thicken lashes while separating.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It is great for sensitive eyes. I wear contact lens, and it does not irritate my eyes at all.
  2. It thickens and separates my lashes.

Product Review: Clinique Skincare Products

I love testing out new products and telling you all about it. I am always in pursuit of the next best beauty product, so expect many beauty reviews. I have used a few Clinique products in the past, and I found them good, so I decided to test out a few more, to see if they could become my regulars.

Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter

This is my first time using a body butter. I have heard quite a lot of good things about body butters in general, so I decided to give this Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter a try, and I am happy I did. I have been using it for weeks now, and I love it!

Here is the brief product description –

Luxurious, butter rich body cream penetrates dryness prone skin, delivering a new kind of softness to elbows, knees and heels. So silky, skin drinks it up instantly, stays soothed and comforted all day. This body butter softens rough, dry skin and is easily absorbed into skin. Works for all skin types.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It is fragrance free.
  2. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
  3. It moisturises the skin perfectly, leaving feeling soft, silky and smooth.
  4. A little goes a long way.
  5. It is easily accessible at Boots, Debenhams, and many beauty stores.
  6. It does not leave the skin oily or greasy.

CONS

  1. It is a bit pricey at £35 for a 350ml jar.

I may be buying this Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter again because I like it. The only issue for me is that I think it is a bit too expensive for what it is.

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum

I got this serum because I love trying face serums, and I am in need of a good, affordable face serum. I have tried a few great ones, but I found them too pricey and was not able to continue using them. And that is how I bumped into this Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum.

I have been using this serum for weeks now and I have quite a lot to say about it, but first here is the product description –

Here is a custom serum smart enough to understand your skin’s past and change its appearance in the future.

– Addresses the appearance of uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles, firming, or radiance
– For all ages, all ethnicities
– Five years of research
– Patented technology

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. Small and compact to carry around if needed.
  2. It feels great on the skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean.
  3. A little goes a long way.
  4. Great for all ages and skin tones.
  5. It is fragrance free.
  6. It is easily accessible in most beauty stores like John Lewis, Clinique Website, and many more.

CONS

  1. Too expensive at £49 for a 30ml bottle.
  2. I have not noticed any massive difference on my face, so I am not sure it is doing much if any.

Overall, I know I won’t be buying this serum again.

What do you think of both products? Have you used any of them before?
