Anne Kendrick Covers Marie Claire September 2016

Marie Claire Sept 2016

The beautiful Anne Kendrick covers Marie Claire September 2016 issue. I like this cover. It is quite different and an old school theme to it, which is a breath of fresh air. And I am a fan of Anne Kendrick. I love her movies – I find her really funny, and I enjoy reading about her.

In her interview with Marie Claire, Kendrick opens up her Hollywood career, how she is learning to toughen up at auditions and her family life –

My family was very into open communication’ she says, ‘Weirdly it had the side effect of making me unprepared for navigating the more political aspects of the adult world.’ Until, she tell us, an audition where she walked in and told the casting directors “I don’t really think that I’m right for this but I’ll read for you and if you want to bring me back on something else…” I had such a great response, I wish I’d done it from the beginning, instead of being like, [puts on a meek voice], “Thanks so much” [then deadpans] it was fun wasting both of our time.’

Apart from Anne Kendrick’s full interview which I am dying to read, I also find some of the other features on the magazine cover interesting. It is the fashion issue, so I would want to read all about that, and also read the ‘Your Style File’ post. This issue is currently in my to read pile and I am hoping to read it over the bank holiday weekend.

What do you think of this Marie Claire September issue? Are you a fan of Anne Kendrick’s movies? She has featured in What to expect when you are expecting, The Twilight Saga, Digging for Fire, and many more movies.

Thanks for reading and have a fab weekend.

Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend

The saying – ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ is so true. I know I love my diamonds, and I wish I had an unlimited budget to afford as many as I would like. But since I can’t, I can only lust after them from a distance. I first heard the saying from a song from the 1953 Marilyn Monroe movie – Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and I see the sense behind the song, rocks do not lose their shimmer and shine, and they definitely do not lose their shape.

I love my diamonds, and I love my vintage engagement rings a lot. I usually lust after the finest quality pieces available in the stores. I love going window shopping just to glance at the beautiful sparkly diamonds I see in the show glass. I could stare at them all day if I had the time.

Here are 3 rings from Berganza (one of the largest Antique & Vintage ring retailers in the world) I am loving at the moment –

BOUCHERON Ruby, Diamond and Platinum Cluster Ring

I have a soft spot for cluster rings so it comes as no surprise to me that I really like this ring. This yellow golf and platinum ring with a central florette form cluster seven round old cut is simply beautiful. I can picture this stunning ring on my finger. I had a similar ring some years but it wasn’t as glamorous as this beauty.

Antique Sapphire and Diamond Coronet Cluster Ring

Still on cluster rings, I am lusting after this spectacular Antique Sapphire and Diamond Coronet Cluster Ring. It is such a beauty. Blue sapphire has always been one of my favourite gemstones. And I really like the design of the ring.

Georgian Diamond, Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire Giardinetti Ring

I love how unique and colourful this ring is. I like the fact that it houses 2 of my favourite gemstones – Ruby and Sapphire. It looks so beautiful; I can hear it calling out my name….

What do you think of these rings? Which is your favourite? Do you agree with the saying – ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend? Sound off in the comment section please. Have a lovely weekend.
