A Sense for Scents: A Roundup of the Best Scents in Hand Lotions

EOS

The adage “put your best foot forward” is a bit misleading because it is, in fact, our hands that are extended first. Whether it’s a handshake, a wave, or the ever-so-underrated high-five, our hands are seen far more than our feet ever will be. The highlight of my skincare routine is hydration, especially the hands. My favourite part about lotions is the scents, of course. I love food-based scents far more than those derived from flowers. Perhaps it is my inner foodie that desires to smell like food. Who knows? The sense of smell and the brain are intricately linked. A whiff can transport you to a memory you perhaps had once forgotten, evoke an emotion, or be a calming reminder of someone you love. Here is a sampling of some of my favourite hand lotion scents:

#1 Apricot: Apricot is a favourite because it immediately reminds me of my mother. She is a true lady in every sense of the word. Like her, when the apricot scent enters the room, you are every bit aware of its presence, but it is never overpowering. It is also a delicate scent that is affable to even those who prefer lotions of the unscented variety.

#2 Cucumber: Cucumber is such a fun smell. It boasts a crispness that’s both sweet and refreshing. I find this scent most appropriate for the daytime. Cucumber is certainly the wildcard of the group. It pairs well with just about any other scent. It can amplify the aroma of a more muted scent or tone down a very dominant fragrance. Currently my favorite Cucumber-scented lotion on the market is made by Evolution of Smooth. If you want to check it out you can find it here.

#3 Vanilla: Whether we’re talking cake, ice cream, or lotion, you can never go wrong with a classic vanilla. Depending on the vanilla, it can be very light or quite powerful, especially when blended with another scent. For me, the best vanilla is somewhere in between. It’s certainly noticeable but not headache wrenching. I love vanilla in the winter. It compliments the cold weather and is a fragrance equivalent to an elegant winter white.

#4 Lemon: Ahhh! Nothing makes me feel quite the way the scent of lemon does. There’s a reason it is always a scent option in household cleaners. This smell on your hands just screams, “clean!” It rouses fond memories of Saturday-morning chores and summer lemonade. The citrus tingle makes your hands feel so revitalized and full of energy.

Common Bra Problems

Corset Image

Every woman has to deal with an annoying bra problem every now and again. I know I do. From finding the right size to finding the right design and style. The bra problems never end. It changes as our body changes. I struggled a lot with my lingerie in general especially during pregnancy. My boobs were growing at an alarmingly rate, and I got sick and tired of buying a new bra every few weeks. Thankfully, all that is a thing of the past but I do still miss my pregnancy boobs, lol.

Here are some ways of dealing with the common bra problems you may be facing:

Wrong size

A recent survey has shown that 60% of women are walking around wearing the wrong size of bra. Are you one of them? The best way to ensure you are wearing the right size is to get measured. Debenhams and M&S are great places to get measured professionally for free.

Straps that dig

Make sue your bras come with adjustable straps so that you can alter the fit. The straps should not dig in or fall off your shoulders.

Lack of bras

You should have different bras in various designs for different your outfits. If you can’t afford too many, the minimum you should aim for is 2 blacks, 2 whites, 2 nudes, and an extra 2 in any colour or design you like. That way you never run out of bras to wear. Also, go for bras with straps you can take off, and change into various styles to fit your outfit.

Visible bras

Your bras should not be visible, unless this is intentional. When wearing sheer clothes, go for underwear in flesh tones that match your skin colour, not the outfit.

Small boobs

Balcony bras flatter small boobs the most because they provide an enhanced neckline with excellent uplift. Half-cup bras with pads at the sides also flatter small boobs.

Big boobs

A bra with a thick band will support big boobs better because they often provide better support.

My Disneyland Paris Experience

Disneyland Paris Picture

Have you ever visited a Disney theme park? I have. I visited the amazing Disneyland Paris a while ago, and it was an unforgettable experience. The experience has made me believe in the magic of Disney!

To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first because it was quite pricey to get into, and we didn’t go with kids, and I thought Disney theme parks were only meant for groups with kids. I couldn’t think of what adults could be doing while the kids were having fun, but I am glad to say that is so far from the truth. Everyone can have fun in at a Disney theme park. I was like a kid in a candy store! There is something for everyone, and I saw many other groups without kids too.

I can’t wait to take the kids back to Disneyland Paris. I am sure they would love it. Mickey and Minnie Mouse are their favourite characters, so I am can clearly see they jumping and screaming for joy.

I know many families are sometimes a bit confused as to which Disney park to visit. Speaking from my experience, the Disneyland Paris exceeding every expectation. I had an amazing weekend exploring the entire park and I made sure I got on as many rides as I could.

As wonderful as the park is, it does come with a slightly heavy price tag as you can imagine. So if you are looking to save, look up My Voucher Codes for cool deals.

I know I will be visiting the park again with the family regardless of how expensive it will be. I think it is an amazing experience worth every penny. I also want to visit Disney World Florida. I have heard so many cool things about it. I hear it is a lot bigger than the park in Paris, so I would want to see it for myself. It is quite a distance, so maybe when the kids are a bit older.

If you are unsure of which Disney theme park to visit, as there are quite a few now, with a new one opened last month in Pudong, Shanghia, China, have a look at this Flux Magazine infographic. It illustrates the facts of each Disney theme park, so all answers to any question you may have should be on there.
