OOTD: Casual Style

I took these photos the other day in London. The weather was nice and I was in the mood for some outfit photos. I am loving the casual style look this summer. I find it dead comfy and so easy to style. It literally takes me minutes to put an outfit together, and as a busy mum of 2, every minute counts.

I need my outfits to be totally comfortable, but yet very stylish! The kids are on summer holidays for the next few weeks, so that means we are super busy, trying to make the most of what we have left of summer (weather permitting), and juggling all sorts. Life is incredibly busy at the moment, but I won’t have it any other way.

How to Rock the Casual Style Look

Here are 2 style tips I stick to –

Focus on the Accessories

Keep everything else cool, and focus on the accessories. In my case, I am drawing all the attention to my sandals and my sunnies and it works. For you to get the Casual Style look right, your accessories have to do the talking. So scarves, sunnies, hats, footwear, bags, should be the focus, and not the actual outfit. And not all at once. I see some people rocking their accessories collection all in 1 outfit. That is not a good look.

Stick to a maximum of 2 colours

For you to get the casual styling look right, you should stick to a maximum of 2 clothes (not counting black or white). Anything more would be a little too much for a casual look. I would also avoid colour blocking for a when it comes to nailing a casual style, and I rather opt for monochrome colours as they are safer and easier to style casual.

How to Find Bargain Fashion & Skip the Junk

Everyone wants to look great! There’s really no doubt about that. But when you’re operating on a tight budget, you’ll need a lot of creativity and keen skill to find the best pieces at a bargain. That is why it is important to learn the ways of how to find bargain fashion & skip the junk.

The good news is that the options available for the fashion conscious is unlimited. There are so many places you can find the best bargains when it comes to fashion items. The only thing that you need to make sure you do is to focus.

The key to finding the best fashion bargain is to do your homework before you even start shopping. Here is just how you can do it.

Go through your wardrobe and have a clear definition of your style

Most times when you go shopping you go there with no clue as to what you are looking for. In the end, you buy things that neither fit you, nor appeal to your style. The worst of it all is that you spend a lot of money on a piece or an accessory that you’d probably never wear.

The best way to go bargain shopping  is to go through your wardrobe before you even think of going shopping. Take a mental note of what exactly you need and the true definition of your style. This will give you a clear definition of what exactly you are meant to look for when you go shopping.

Bargain fashion shop during off-season

Like I mentioned in the How to Look Stylish on a Tight Budget post, shopping during off-season is the way to go. Shopping during the off-season gives you a variety of choices to make. The only thing is that you’d probably have to wait for the coming season to actually wear the clothes. That means that you need to make sure you plan ahead before you do your shopping during the off-season, but it is definitely worth it. Shopping during the off-season opens you to quality clothing at discounted rates. You end up buy high quality clothing at a really low price.

Scout for coupon codes

Yes, there are coupons codes for quality and stylish clothing. These coupons give you the clothes at a discounted rate, saving you a lot of money, so they are worth looking into.

Find out when your favourite store will stock new merchandise

This will require that you go undercover, well kind of. Clothes stores stock regularly at certain times during the month. If you want to get bargain fashion, then you need to keep up-to-date with when they actually get new merchandise. When the store gets new merchandise, the old stock gets pushed to the back of the store and their prices drop considerably. This gives you access to quality, yet cheaper clothing.

Check out clearance stores for bargain fashion

Contrary to what some people think, you can actually find a lot of stylish clothing items from clearance stores. You may even get a chance to see a couple of designer outfits. The best part of it all is that they come at affordable prices, making you look stylish on a budget.

How to Look Stylish on a Tight Budget

Who doesn’t want to look trendy and chic? To get the perfect look means you need to make a considerable investment in your wardrobe. But with a very limited budget, it can be very tricky. So how do we look stylish on a tight budget then? The truth is that you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money to look good. With just a little investment and some tweaks, you can look just as stylish as someone who has spent hundreds or thousands of pounds.

The trick to looking stylish is not exactly in the money spent on the clothing, rather, it is how you carry the pieces and combine them to achieve the style that people envy. In this article, I’ll show you just how you can look stylish on a tight budget. You’ll soon see that it’s not as difficult as the fashion gurus make you think it is.

The little things matter

The best things come in small packages, they say.  Little additions can go a long way in making you look really stylish. A good weapon, is your choice of accessories. Lovely looking accessories like a beautiful necklace or a pair of earrings can upgrade your outfit. The best part is that there are so many accessories that are really inexpensive but can dazzle your outfit in a big way.

Go back to the basics

Some people tend think that trendy outfits have to be elaborate. That’s not the case. Basic clothing like a t-shirt, a pair of jeans or a simple pencil skirt can look just as stylish. And they don’t have to cost so much. A slogan tee and a pair of jeans look really trendy.

Shop during the off-season

Did you know that you could get quality clothing at a low price during the off-season? Who would have known that right? It may seem a little strange buying summer clothing during the winter, but if you want to enjoy some designer clothing at a low price then you could do a little off-season shopping and shop for the coming season.

Choose clothes that have a neutral palette

More often than not, the colour of your clothing can go a long way than you think. Neutral palette like beige, white and even black can make really stylish pieces. A lovely black dress, perfectly styled with your favourite jewelry could make you look extremely stylish even if you don’t spend a penny.

Get creative with layering

The way you mix and match your clothing is a pretty effective way to look stylish on a tight budget. Usually, there is really no need to buy new clothes from head to toe before you can look stylish. But if you combine the clothes you already have and invest a little to cover the difference then you have an amazing outfit.

Stick with stylish timeless pieces

You know those items of clothing that never go out of style no matter the year we’re in? Those are the type of clothing you should go for. You may even have quite a number of stylish clothing in your wardrobe already!

Find out those evergreen stylish pieces, like a pair of blue jeans and style it with a nice looking top that you can buy from a thrift store at a bargain. Put on the trendiest pair of heels you’ve got in your wardrobe and a set of matching jewelry. No one would ever know the difference.
