Nickelodeon Land Blackpool Experience

It’s summertime, but the weather isn’t as delightful as it was this time last year. There is a slight chill in the air on and off, and it has made dressing up very confusing. I never know what to wear these days. Not certain how the weather would look like. One minute it is warm and sunny, and we have our summer clothes on. The next minute it is cloudy and chilly, and we have our winter jackets back on. We have had all sorts of seasons in a day. Hard to keep up but hey it is June, so it should get better right?

Nickelodeon Land Blackpool Experience

We spent the half term week in Blackpool and had the lovely opportunity to visit the Nickelodeon Land Park and Pleasure Beach. It was a lot of fun. The kids had an amazing time and so did we the grown ups, as you can see from the pictures. We enjoyed ourselves a little too much. We went on so many rides, we lost count of how many we went on. There was a lot of screaming and laughing. It was fun to just unwind and enjoy the thrill. Some of the rides were really crazy but in a fun way.

We booked our day at the park online and had the tickets delivered to our house before the half term week, so we beat the long lines. It was amazing to just breeze in because the lines were really long. So I would advise you booked your tickets in advance online and have them delivered to your house at least a week before the day you plan to visit the park.

The Amazing Rides

The rides at Nickelodeon Land park were really good. The experience was definitely a lot adrenaline rush. The Avalanche and the Blue Flyer rides were really cool. There were a lot of screams (good ones) on those rides. We also enjoyed the show featuring SpongeBob SquarePants, Skye and Ninja Turtles. It was fun watching them dance and entertain the kids. The kiddies even got a photo taken with Skye and they were really excited about that. My daughter adores Skye.

If you haven’t visited Nickelodeon Land park in Blackpool and you have little ones, I suggest you pop over for a visit. The huge park is truly magical and there is so much to see and do. We spent the whole day there and still couldn’t get on all the rides. They were just too many. It was definitely worth every penny.

Instagram Heaven

We took so many pictures on the day so excuse the photo heavy post. I just couldn’t help myself but post every one of them. The park is really pretty; definitely an instagram dream. I will be posting a part 2 of our time at Nickelodeon Land Park soon  so you get to see all the photos. I am unable to fit them all in this post.  I will also be sharing some tips on how to make the most of your time at the park and things to prepare for while you are there, so lookout for that post.

5 Ways to Travel Without Looking Like a Tourist

I love travelling and I had the opportunity to visit several counties. Whenever I am abroad, I like observing my surroundings and soaking in the culture.

Soaking in the culture as tourist is all good as long as you remember to play it safe. I usually do a lot of research before I visit any country. Thanks to websites like TripAdvisor and Expedia, it is so easy to find out all the information you need before you travel.

I like having fun on holidays but I don’t like standing out as tourist, because it tends to attract the bad apples. Here are some ways I travel without looking like a tourist.

Relax

This little trick may sound like a surprise to you but this helped me a lot. When you land in a new country or destination you’re likely to feel uncomfortable, restless or even overly excited. All that can give you away.

Someone who is familiar with the terrain hardly get over excited, restless or uncomfortable. They are usually relaxed and even indifferent to their surroundings.

I don’t advice you to feign indifference or you’ll miss out on all the beauty the country has to offer. I do, however, advice you to take a more relaxed approach as you soak in the best of your environment.

Blend with the locals

On one of my travels, I loved the way some of the tourists bought the cultural clothes of the country and wore them throughout the tour. It was their way of blending in with the locals.

When you make an attempt to blend in by showing your appreciation of their culture by wearing their local attire or eating with them or taking part in some of their cultural activities, you are likely to be more accepted in their fold and treated as one of them.

Why you need a holiday image

Take public transportation

Tourists usually take the bus tour and that makes everyone around them know that they are tourists. Aside from that, you miss out on seeing the country or destination for what it is.

If you have a good opportunity to hop on a train or bus while on holiday, grab it.

Take a route different

Every local knows the exact spots where tourists hang around. If you want to travel without looking like a tourist then you should avoid these places. Don’t follow the usual tourist routes. Be adventurous and see the places that are hardly visited by tourists.

Ease up on the photography

One of the characteristics of tourists is that they always have a camera in their hands ready or around their necks. There is nothing wrong with taking pictures. I make sure I take loads of pictures whenever I am on holiday. But if you don’t want to be look like a tourist then you need to ease up on the photography. Instead, enjoy the scenery and soak in the beauty of the environment.

Do you like looking like a tourist when you away on holiday or do you prefer blending in?

Let Your Beachwear Do The Talking

The holiday season is here and the beach is calling. I have a beach holiday planned for later in the year but I know many people are lying on a beach somewhere (or planning to) soaking in the sun and tanning up. So I thought a beachwear post would be timely.

Here are some beachwear hacks you should remember this season:

Remember There Are Tankinis

When we say beachwear, many people automatically think of a bikini, forgetting there are many others. If you do not like your belly area, or you do not feel comfortable rocking a bikini, remember there are 1 pieces and tankinis.

Go for Quality

I like to invest in the best when it comes to beachwear because I hardly ever buy them. So when I do, I go for quality pieces and I make sure I have a couple of them every time. I currently have 4 pieces for different uses, which I think is a good number to have.

Choose the Right Beachwear for your Body

Different beachwears suit different body types and shapes, so make sure you have the right piece for your body shape. Bra tops are fab for busty women, halter-neck top bikinis offer support and create enviable cleavage. Bikini tops with built-in padding or underwiring is great for women who are small on top. Ruffles or prints pieces are great for slim women as they create the illusion of curves. High-cut bikini bottoms make your bum appear smaller and your legs appear longer. I can go on and on with more tips, the bottom line is you knowing what designs suit your body shape and buying them.

Go for Bright Colours in the Summer

Take advantage of the sun and go for bright coloured pieces this summer. They always look so good.

Remember Your Kaftans & Sarongs

I have stocked up on a few kaftans and sarongs ready for the beach and you should too, if you are planning a beach holiday. I find them so comfortable and chilled out. They are great for chilling on a beach. I always go a size up when shopping for these as I like it to be airy and free. There are so many stylish designs in the stores so keep your eyes open.
