Jean Styles Worth Trying This Year

You can’t do without a pair or two (or even three!) of jeans. They are a staple in every closet. There are so many styles of jeans that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to choose between them.

Since we can never have enough jeans, I put together an array of jeans that you should consider having in your wardrobe. I categorized them according to different styles you may like to achieve with your outfits. So I present to you jean styles worth trying this year.

The Timeless Bunch

If you’re the type who aims at putting together timeless and fashionable outfits, then these jeans would work well to help you ace that look. They’re simple and versatile. You can hardly run out of outfits to pair them with.

  1. The looker frayed ankle skinny jeans

These jeans literally scream layback with their frayed ankles and even a rip in the knee. The frayed ankles add a lot of edge to the jeans. They’re very popular and work well with a comfy t-shirt or blouse or a nice wooly jumper in the winter.

  1. Bombshell skinny jeans

These are the high-waisted skinny jeans. These jeans perfectly accentuate your shape. And they’re perfect for those peplum tops and bulky sweaters. They are the best when it comes to balancing out your outfits.

The Comfy Bunch

This group is for all the ladies who prefer to give priority to their comfort over anything else. Of course, that doesn’t mean they don’t want to look trendy as well. These jeans perfectly capture the best of both worlds.

  1. The ex boyfriend slim jeans

Although these are reminiscent of a boyish style, they make really comfortable jeans. You instantly look relaxed and laid back in these.

  1. Jess paperbag waist jeans

The paperbag waist cut is fun and stylish. And having a denim version is definitely a must-have.  Unlike other jeans, these ones add a lot more creative detail with the band that you can tie a cute bow with.

The Sassy Bunch

Are you more of the adventurous type? Then this set of jeans is just for you. They’re not anything like the conventional kind that everyone is used to.

  1. Verdugo coated skinny jeans

Remember the leather pants that give off the rock n’roll vibe? The verdugo coated skinny jeans achieve that look perfectly. Verdugo make the jeans look exactly like the black leather jeans we’re familiar with. The good thing is that they’re so much cheaper in comparison to leather jeans.

Layer these jeans with a cool biker’s jacket and you’re good to go with your rock n’roll inspired outfit.

  1. Cheetah print skinny jeans

There’s no fabric that brings out the wild side than animal print. Animal print jeans like the cheetah print skinny jeans make a fun addition to your wardrobe. Take note that while styling cheetah print jeans, you should wear them with a solid coloured top like a white or black blouse. Layering with more prints will take the focus off the animal print.

Life, Style & Shopping

I can’t believe we are in the month of September already. This year is going so fast, isn’t it? August was an extremely busy month for me. I was busy juggling my real life, Fashion and Style Police and my outreach career, which has really taken off. The month was so fast pace, I started to neglect myself a little, and  wrote all about that some days ago. I am happy to say I have started to make some amends in my life.I now have a clear structured day with breaks and all. I have started to take out more time just for myself, I had a lovely spa day earlier this week, and it was magical. I am looking forward to the next one already.

I have also started losing the extra pounds I gained in the last couple of weeks, so I am very pleased with the Youtube work-out video tutorials I have been watching. I am also considering trying another Body Wrap, to step up my fitness routine. I tried a body wrap some months ago, and I have heard so many great things about the Slimming Solutions Wrap being a fab alternative to going to the gym, so I am hoping to try it for myself as soon as I can get my hands on one.

As far as my wardrobe is concerned, I know I did do quite a bit of summer shopping this year, I blame the crazy sweet sales, and I need to go on a spending ban like since last month, lol. But with all the shopping I did, I still need some pairs of Ladies Boots, because you can never have too many boots right? Plus I need to replace some old pairs.

I also didn’t get a single pair of new jeans, and I think I need at least 1 new pair. I like to go for quality when it comes to my jeans because I have realised the more you spend on your jeans, the better it looks and the longer you have it for. I currently have my eye on a few J Brand jeans and I think I need them all in my life, or at least in my wardrobe, if I could afford them all. I am so in love with these two in particular –

Finding the Perfect Jeans & How to Care for Them

Fashion and Style Police Outfit of the Day Picture

I know it is summer and the heat wave is still on, I am literally melting away in the heat, and cannot remember the last time I had on a pair of jeans. I am currently surviving in shorts, dresses and skirt. I can’t dare put on a pair of jeans, but once the weather cools down, I know I shall have a good old pair of jeans on. It is a wardrobe necessity for most of us, and I know the struggle most women face shopping for the right pair of jeans because I have faced it too.

Finding the perfect jeans is hard, trust me I know..It could be a while to discover the styles that suit me best, and how to style the pairs that don’t suit me as much. It also took me a long time to discover the stores that stock jeans that look good on me. As a petite woman, I can’t just wear any pair, it is always an issue or the other. Either it is too long, too short, too tight, too baggy, the list of issues goes on and on. But not anymore. I have cracked the code of finding the perfect jeans, and I am going to share a few tips with you.

Try it On

First thing first, I know I am an advocate of online shopping but I won’t advise you to buy your jeans online, only if you have bought a similar pair from the same store before. It is always better to try it in store because sizes always differ from store to store. For example I am a size 10 when shopping for jeans in Dorothy Perkins or Next, but a size 12 in River Island and Topshop. So try it on in store to be sure you have the right size and you are happy with the fit. Also make sure you try your jeans with a pair of heels similar to those you plan on wearing with the jeans, so you get the right length.

Go for Added Stretch

Go for jeans with added stretch. Once I tried on a pair of jeans with added stretch, I never looked back. I also got rid of all my other pairs without extrra stretch. A pair of jeans with a bit of added stretch will help slim your tummy area, and flatter your hips/bum area. They always look go and have a amazing fit.

Buy in Pairs

If you find the perfect jeans, pair 2, if you can afford to. I did. I got them in various shades, just incase they are discontinued.

Think of the Footwear

When shopping for your jeans, think of what footwear you plan to style it with. The reason being, some jeans do not look good paired with certain footwears. For example, a skinny jeans would look on good tucked into boots, but a flared or slouchy jeans would not.

Go for Quality

The more expensive a pair of jeans is, the better the quality. This is a fact. And I had to learn this the hard way. Most of my jeans now start from £40 upwards and they are top quality. Unlike the £20 pairs I used to buy, only for them to lose their fit, and fall apart after a few washes. The best thing to do is to shop for your quality jeans in the sales, so you don’t spend as much.

Wash in Cold Water & Dry Indoors

To preserve the colour and lifespan of your jeans, wash inside out in cold water, with a little detergent, only when it is absolutely necessary. And dry indoors so they don’t fade in the sun. Iron inside out.

So these are my tips for finding the perfect jeans & how to care for them. Have you found the perfect jeans or are you still in the pursuit of it?
