My Digital Detox

I had a digital detox over the weekend! I still can’t believe I did but I did. I logged off my laptop and smart phone on Friday afternoon, and I let the blog and my social media platforms run on auto pilot until midnight Sunday. It was fun to sit back and relax. Last week was extremely busy work-wise, so I was looking forward to the weekend and my digital detox.

This digital detox came about due to the “Your Presence is the Present” campaign I was working on. This campaign was all about logging off every form of technology aka distractions, and spending quality time with the loved ones. It was about giving your family the ‘gift’ of your undivided attention this Christmas, a sort of dry-run for Christmas in a month’s time.

At first I didn’t know what to do with myself. I usually have a million and one things to do, but Fridays are usually a bit quiet so it was the best day to have it done. I logged off every system after checking my tweets and posts were scheduled. Then off I went to check out the challenge pack to help me stay offline and stay sane.

I found the Punkt. phone very useful. I know many may struggle with using this kind of phone in 2016, but I liked it! It was just what I needed. I could switch off my iPhone but be rest assured anyone who needed urgently could reach me. I will continue using this phone for work, for the few times I need to make phone calls to clients.

I also found the notebook very handy for when I had itchy fingers. It kept me very busy. And the pencils and colouring pads kept us very occupied. i enjoyed colouring with my kids. It definitely kept me sane.

I also kept myself busy with my Kindle (reading offline of course). I finally finished Katie Price’s Reborn on Friday evening. I have been reading it for weeks now and struggling to finish it. I also downloaded another book on Saturday – On Becoming by Toke Makinwa, which I finished in a few hours because it was so good.

Another rare thing that happened was me being in bed at 10pm on Friday night. Usually, I am buried in work until past midnight but since I could not work, I found myself in bed at 10pm and it felt so good. I should be doing this more often.

I enjoyed this digital detox. I am looking to the Christmas break because I go on holiday and that means I will be logging off which is fab. All work and no rest makes Stella a grumpy blogger.

Have you had a digital detox lately?

Female Body Shapes: The Balcony Shaped Woman

DP_Tour_Headshot_4-p18oq2jv4alhi1dfbujk1h5c18lh

If you missed the last Female Body shape post, catch up here.

This week is all about the Balcony shaped woman. This woman has narrow hips and a full bust so the upper body stands out. This is an extremely rare body shape to have naturally but it is quite common in today’s celebrity world. The Balcony shape is also known as the Strawberry body shape Someone once asked why are women disappearing? He will need to ask the likes of Katie Price, Chloe Sims, Wendy Williams, Dolly Parton and Elizabeth Hurley.

It usually takes surgery, iron will and determination to have a Balcony shape and it is quickly becoming a must-have body shape thanks to the famous celebrities.

Here are the DOs and the DONTs for the Balcony shaped woman:

DOs

  1. Be prepared to sacrifice the tasty desserts and that piece of chocolate cake.
  2. Wear sunnies as often as you can. They will draw attention away from your breasts.
  3. Go for bias-cut dresses to show off the fullness of your breast and your narrow hips.
  4. Fuller skirts and wide leg trousers will balance out the shape beautifully.

DONTs

  1. Avoid wearing skinny jeans and flats shoes. This draws attention to your bust.
  2. Avoid double-breasted outfits, your are already double-breasted!
  3. Shoulder pads and tapering trousers are to be avoided.
  4. Avoid halter-neck pieces as well.

What do you think of this bodyshape? Is it must-have for you? Speak your heart, don’t bite your tongue.

Fashion Criminal – Katie Price

Never underestimate the fashion sense of the Pricey! Katie Price’s idea of style is something else, for lack of a better word of describing it. From her hair, down to her toes is just so wrong. She styles her accessories wrongly, pairs them with the wrong outfits, the colours she likes and wears regularly do nothing for her natural colouring or body shape. Her style is just plain TRASHY and that is the honest truth. I wonder what goes on in her mind when she selects her outfits. I just wonder…….

Katie Price can be tweaked in the right way. She needs a MAKE-UNDER. There is just too much going on with her style, and they are all making her look very unattractive. I will love to see her wear more neutral colours, pair her accessories with the right pieces, wear better fitted outfits, chic tops and blazers, paired with skinnies will be fantastic, as long they are in the right colours. With Katie Price, I think her style suffers more from a colour mismatch than anything else. She wears pieces and accessories in colours, you won’t think a grown up woman would wear, and she matches them wrongly.

The whole world knows Pink is Katie’s favourite colour but that doesn’t mean she should leave her house looking like her Barbie Doll. Just take another look at the outfit above and tell me how a 36-year-old mother can go out looking like that, when you are done, look below and tell me how you can dress up with all your pieces and accessories in one colour, and it is not a neutral colour.

Her Pictures speak louder than my words, I hope she improves on her fashion style, so she could be  Style Icon some day, at least on Fashion and Style Police. What do you think of Katie Price’s style? Sound off in the comment section.
