Mica Argañaraz Covers British Vogue Magazine August 2017

Mica Argañaraz is the cover girl for British Vogue Magazine August 2017. She is a rising star, which explains why I have never heard of her. The cover was photographed by Craig McDean – and styled by Vogue‘s senior contributing fashion editor, Kate Phelan.

This is Mica Argañaraz’s first British Vogue cover, and I like it! It is simple but yet has the Vogue factor; which is quality and elegance. This magazine cover ticks all the right boxes.

I did a bit of research on the cover girl, and discovered she is Argentinian model, one of the hottest models around today. She has modelled for Christopher Kane, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Chanel, Christian Dior, Prada and even Mango.

I can why Mica Argañaraz is so popular at the moment. Her distinct look, with the shaggy fringe and strong jawline have made her stand out for the right reasons. She is definitely one model to watch.

Here are some excerpts from Mica Argañaraz’s interview with British Vogue –

Mica Argañaraz on her Modelling Career

“I really take it as a job,” she told us. “It makes me feel proud how far I got, I tried to be honest and true to myself.”

“I’ve had a lot of experiences and I think they’ve made me grow up,” she added. “Also, this job has given me a lot, which allows me to give back and to help people. It feels good when you can turn it into a cycle.”

Good she loves her job. Doing a job you love is one of the best things you could do for yourself.

Mica Argañaraz on Breaking into Modelling

“You make your own career as you build your own reality,” she told us. “Personally I’m not competitive, and I get along with a lot of my colleagues. I do get happy when my friends and people I like are doing well, and I feel it happens the same the other way around. It can be a lonely lifestyle otherwise when you travel so much.”

I like to see others around me doing well too! I can’t understand envy.

I am yet to read this issue but will looking out for it. Have you read it? What do you think of the cover girl?

OOTD: Birthday in Milan

As you should all know by now, I turned 30 last week Saturday, and I spent the weekend in Milan. It was an amazing trip. I had fun exploring the beautiful city. There was a lot to see, especially the shops. We popped into all the lovely luxury stores – Gucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Mercedes-Benz, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and the likes. I wish I had an unlimited budget, I would have bought all the bags and shoes in the stores. I did get a few things, I just wish I got more.

I took these photos on my birthday. I got the pieces just before the trip, and I like how the outfit turned out. I love wearing jumper dresses in the winter because they are warm and cosy, and also very easy to style, all I need is a pair of tights to bring it to life.

Jumper desses are also very multi-tasking, they can be worn in the warmer months without tights. I have recently fallen in love with the style, and I have quite a few in my wardrobe now.

The shoes are new as well, a gift and I love the over the top bow on it. It stands out and many people seem to like the design. I love it!

We took the pictures below at Duomo di Milano. If you have been there before, you would know how busy the place is. We got a couple of pictures taken in the midst of the birds and chaos. I didn’t like the location much, the birds were a little too many for me, and there were people everywhere -a proper tourist spot.

That is my lovely big sister. She has appeared on the blog twice before as a Fashion Diva and she was with us over in Milan. We were up to no good half the time, lol.

Speaking of Fashion Divas, I need to bring that series back to life. What say you? So get in touch if you are a fashion blogger or lover, and want to feature your style on Fashion and Style Police.

The birds were everywhere  I was worried I would step on them.

Or they would step on me. Or perch on me. I was trying to get some cover from my Sis here, lol.

It was a fun trip, and I can’t wait to go back. I will just avoid the birds in Duomo next time.

Karlie Kloss Covers Elle UK March 2016

MAIN_KARLIE

I am loving this March 2016 cover of Elle UK featuring American model and tech entrepreneur, Karlie Kloss, photographed by Kai Z Feng. It is proper bright and colourful, and that Louis Vuitton jacket is giving me life right now. Just what I need to look at on a gloomy winter day. Karlie Kloss looks fierce on the cover. Her look kind of reminds me of David Bowie, bless his soul. Guess she was channeling him with this look, and I think she nailed the look she was going for.

The colours on this cover caught my eye on the newsstands, and I found myself grabbing one. Overall, I enjoy reading Elle. I find most of the articles quite interesting and I am sure this would be a good read as well. I have a copy with me, just need to find the time to actually read. I should do so hopefully this weekend.

I am guessing this issue will focus on her business venture, and I am so interested in reading more about that. I am always eager to go into the minds of successful entrepreneurs, so having Karlie Kloss on the cover was a no brainer for me. I knew I had to have it.

For a price tag of £4.10, I can understand why many won’t bother buying this magazine issue. I find Elle quite pricey myself so I tend to buy only few and select issues I am very interested in. I can do quite a lot with £4.10, so splashing that on a magazine every month won’t be sensible. Besides I hardly have space for myself in my house these days, so hoarding magazines wont be smart, lol.

This cover is definitely the best Elle UK magazine cover I have seen this year. Do you agree? Share your thoughts.

Thanks for reading x
