January Wishlist

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have noticed my posting birthday shots yesterday. It was my birthday yesterday. I am officially 31 years old and it feels amazing. Apart from me being down with an annoying cold all weekend, I had a great time. Every new year is worth celebrating and I am grateful to have the opportunity to so. I will be sharing more on my birthday later this week. So look out for a birthday outfit post soon. January is one of my favourite months of the year because it is my birth month and it introduces a fresh start to a year. Which is why I am always on high in January.

Say hello to my January Wishlist post, the first Wishlist post of the year! I have a few items I would love to get this month, and I would grab every one of them if I had an unlimited budget. But since I don’t have an unlimited budget, I can only wish to grab all these this month.

I don’t have a decent umbrella and I find it so embarrassing at times. This Barbour Telescopic Umbrella Navy/Classic Tartan for £65 would be so useful. I like the classic design of the umbrella. It is crafted from 100% polyester yarn dyed classic Barbour tartan. This umbrella features an engraved wooden handle with a metal mechanism. It ticks all the boxes for me.

I am badly in need of a few chest of drawers. There are a couple that need replacing. I came across this great website – Dandelion Interiors, and I found some many affordable household decor items. This KT Deco Black Oak Carcase Graphite Woodgrain 3 Large Chest Of Drawers being one of them.

This chest of drawers is designed to introduce comfort and character to any bedroom. It would suit my bedroom so well, with the beautifully co-ordinated woodgrain fronts and matching foil carcase. It offers a touch of modern class to the bedroom and will complement my existing décor, which is amazing. Do you like this chest of drawers? Please share your thoughts.

I am still in the process of sorting out my driving license. It looks like that would be sorted out for good this year, and I am looking forward to getting a new sleek car. We currently have a Range Rover, so I would ideally want a different type of car. I love my Mini Coopers and I am seriously crushing on some of the Mercedes-Benz models I have spotted as well. It is such a cool car brand. Do you agree?

There are so are so many cool options and deals available with companies like Yes Lease. This company is one of the UK leading car leasing broker, and they are known for their very low prices, great customer service and non salesy approach. So it is worth browsing their website (link above) for great car deals. I am seriously loving the deals available on their website.

My Purpose for Fashion and Style Police Blog

Before I dive into My Purpose for Fashion and Style Police Blog, let me explain how I got to the point of writing this post.

I read books a lot and I love reading. My goal for this year is to read a book a week. This was the same goal I had last year and I almost smashed it. So I am hoping I smash it completely this 2018. I am currently reading The Mindful Entrepreneur:How to rapidly grow your business while staying sane, focused and fulfilled by Howard Finger and Aryeh Goldman on my Kindle. And I am really learning a lot. It is a very easy to read self-help non fiction book but it is written in a fiction way, if that makes any sense.

I got this book for 99p and it is the best 99p I have spent so far this year. It is literally speaking to me and I am so glad I found this book. I have made some silly decisions lately; buying books with great samples only to realise it was a complete waste of my time and money. Most times I struggle to finish reading such book and just abandon it halfway but not this book. I am soaking the wise words from Howard Finger and Aryeh Goldman, and implementing the information into my business.

The Mindful Entrepreneur book has made me think deeply outside the box. It has opened my eyes to how to discover my deep purpose for Fashion and Style Police Blog by answering 4 Why questions.  I found the exercise some educative and I know I will be learning a lot from this book.

My Purpose for Fashion and Style Police Blog
  1. Why do I write on Fashion and Style Police Blog? I write to provide quality fashion, beauty and lifestyle articles.
  2. Why should anyone read my blog? Because I write quality articles that will educate and entertain my readers.
  3. Why would my blog posts entertain or educate anyone? My blog posts entertain and educate because they will make my readers feel good and feel like they have learnt something new after reading my posts.
  4. Why would the blog readers feel good and like they have learnt something new? My blog readers will spend wisely on products and services that would best serve them. They will also be informed on how best to use these products and services. These readers will eventually save money and time that would have been spent shopping around for products and services that would not work for them.

 

These answers have led me to the summary of my business purpose for the blog, which is to save money and time. And that valuable purpose makes me feel so good.

 

I urge every business owner to try this exercise. It makes you think deeply outside the box for the right answers. And it should work for every business because every business needs a meaningful purpose to succeed. For you to be a successful blogger/business owner, you and your staff must be focused on fulfilling a valuable purpose for your customers.

Why I won’t be sharing my goals for 2018

I am finally settling down into 2018. Today is the 3rd day and I am loving it. I have been away from home for some days and only got back home on Monday. So I am still trying to unpack and tidy up. I am finally starting to feel a little more organised. I am a firm believer in setting achievable goals. I set monthly goals in the first of every month. It works great for me because I need to know what I need to work on to make it happen. I also like to write them down as I believe in the power of written goals.

I am my own boss. No one tells me what to do or how to do it. I don’t have a boss breathing down my neck, constantly reminding me to hit my KPIs. Or counting how many times I go for a comfort break. It feels great to be my own boss but it also means I have to work very long hours to make this life happen. Which is why setting goals for 2018 is a no brainer.

Why I won’t be sharing my goals for 2018

Many people write goals and share them with their blog readers but I am different. I like to keep my goals private. That may sound silly to some of you but it works great for me. I do share some goals on Fashion and Style Police. You all know how much I talk about growing my Instagram and I am so happy that is finally beginning to happen. But when it comes down to my monthly/yearly goals, I am not comfortable sharing them all in details.

The reason why I am not for sharing goals publicly is because I believe that sometimes, when we share our plans, the forces start working to make sure we don’t smash them (please don’t ask me who the forces are). Which is why I rather keep my goals quiet and let the results do the talking.

I have a lot planned for 2018. It is going to be an incredible month. I can feel it in my heart and I can’t wait to experience them all.
