Product Review – Sweetness & Light Soya Candles

Once you step into my home, you would spot my love for candles. I have candles in every room. There is something I love about candles. Apart from the amazing fragrance that lingers long after the candles have been put out, there is just this thing about them that relaxes me; puts me in a good mood. So you can imagine how excited I was to try out these Sweetness & Light Soya Candles.

The candles here are Sweetness & Light Coconut Cream and Summer Breeze. I have been burning these for a couple of days now, and I love them. I am really impressed with the quality and the packaging of the candles. They look amazing, not like the regular candles we see around. They stand out even more with the unique personalisation. I have never had a candle with my name on it. Have you had one before?

I love them both but I prefer the Coconut Cream Candle. It reminds me of the beach holiday we had at Dubai some weeks ago. It takes me right back to the hot sunny days at the beach. Sweet memories.

Holidaying in Muscat Oman

Still on the Middle East mini tour, after spending a week in Dubai, we went off to spend a weekend in Muscat, Oman. We have friends over there, so it was nice to catch up and explore the lovely city. Muscat is a beautiful conservative city. It is nothing as fancy as Dubai, but it is worth a visit if you are around the area.

We stayed over at Raddison Blu hotel, which was fab. We were hardly ever in the hotel because we were too busy trying to see the entire city in 48 hours, but the room was dead comfy when we needed it.

Muscat was very warm, it was over 38 degrees most of the time, but not as warm as Dubai. The kids had an amazing time. We visited many child friendly parks, one of them being Funtazmo in Oman Avenues Mall. It is the largest indoor family amusement centre in Oman. There were all sorts of games and rides, to keep the adults and children busy. We had a lovely time there.

It was 1 ride after the other for us. There was no dull moment here at Funtazmo, the kiddies didn’t want to leave. I even got on a few rides myself, screaming my lungs out as usual!

After spending a few hours here at the mall, we visited a few other shopping malls, markets, restaurants and the famous Al Qurum Natural Park (all in 48 hours). We visited the park at night, and got on even more rides with the kids. It was an amazing experience I would never forget.

I was too busy with the rides to remember to take some photos at the Al Qurum Natural Park, but the memories will stay with me forever!

Dubai Summer Holiday

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, then you would know I am currently in Dubai with the family for a summer vacation. We got here some days ago. It has been lovely so far. We have a huge apartment to ourselves at the lovely DoubleTree by Hilton Jumeirah Beach, with an amazing view and a private beach! I couldn’t ask for anything more. It is a perfect home away from home with huge rooms, a washing machine, massive fridge/freezer, kitchen, everything!

Coming from good old Cheshire, with the summer weather reaching a maximum of 30 degrees on a good hot day, Dubai’s weather reaching above 40 degrees is something. It is a good change from what we are used to so we are trying to make the most of it.

I am planning to hit the beach later today with kiddies and have been sorting out my swimwear essentials.  I did a lot of holiday shopping before we took off, so we could come prepared. I rarely have the opportunity to rock a good bikini in a 40 degrees weather, so I went all out shopping for some luxury ladies swimwear and some other summer beach holiday essentials.

I shopped Fat Face for the first time, and I got the hat and slippers, which have been so useful. I also got some last-minute suncream at a Boots shop because I forgot to carry mine.

I love Dubai so much. This is my third time visiting this amazing country, I was here last December for Christmas, and I know I would be visiting again. It is one of those countries you just don’t get tired of, for me anyway.

We will be visiting another country in the Middle East in the next few days before heading home, so it is going to be a chilled but busy week. I will be posting as regular as I can but the timing may be a little different, so look out.

Any plans for the summer? Have you visited Dubai before?
