OOTD: A Tartan Tunic Dress

OOTD: A Tartan Tunic Dress

Nothing Clothing Company Tunic

Hey peoples. Happy New Week, Thank God its Monday. I have a new outfit inspiration post for you. It is all about this tartan tunic long sleeve dress but the highlight is, I wore this dress differently. Instead of pairing with a pair of tights, I paired this beauty with a pair of jeggings because it was just too freaking cold for tights, and it worked.

I don’t about where you are, but right here in Cheshire and in Essex (was in Essex over the weekend), it has been painfully cold. I am talking -1ish. It is winter all of a sudden, and I am not sure how to cope with the sudden cold. Some people have even been lucky, and have seen some snow. I am still waiting here for the snow to make an appearance. I hope to be outfit and camera ready once it surfaces.

Anyways, back to the outfit, I love anything Tartan. I think it is a very pretty pattern and I think the dress is bang on trend. This dress is very light weight, but it did keep me warm, along with my very heavy winter coat, left behind the scenes.

I went all dark with the accessories and the jeggings. I was aiming for a complete stylish chic look and I think I nailed it. I will be wearing a lot of this dress this year. It looks like a great all year round dress.

In other news, it is my birthday this week, yayyyy. I am super excited. It will be my last birthday in my twenties, and I can’t wait to celebrate. I have a couple of activities planned out, so I hope the weather behaves, lol, and if it doesn’t, I will just go with the flow.

New Year Fashion & Style Resolutions 2016

I am so vain I know, for deciding not to publish my monthly goals but going ahead to publish my fashion and style resolutions for 2016. Well, Fashion and Style Police is mainly a UK Fashion Blog, 60% of the time, so a style resolution post is in order right? I think it is, and I wrote a New Year Fashion & Style Resolution post around this same time last year, so here are my fashion and style resolutions for 2016.

Play Around With My Style

This year, I would like to step outside my comfort zone a little more, by playing around with my style. So you will be seeing a little more of dresses, skirts, sky-high heels, a bit more colour and everything else in between, so look out for my outfit posts, I promise to make them a lot more interesting.

Invest in High-end Accessories

Accessories have the power to make or break any look, so this year I will be focusing on growing my accessories, especially my shoe, bag and earrings collection. I sold quite a couple of bags on eBay last year, so those bags would need to be replaced (whatever helps me sleep at night right lol), I have my eye on some stylish Christian Louboutins already, so let’s see how it goes, crossing my fingers and my toes.

Declutter the Wardrobe

I have so many clothes I never wear at all. I plan to get rid of as many as I can by selling on eBay or giving them away to family, friends and charity. In the meantime, I plan to reduce the number of clothes I buy this year. I have more than enough, and my wardrobe is currently about to explode.

Play around with my Hair

Looking back at some of my pictures, I realised that most of my hairstyles were just plain and that is so not like me. I will like to step up my hair game this year, and play around with various styles. Variety is the spice of life.

Stop Buying Roll Neck Knitwear

I have realised I not only dislike roll necks, I HATE them. They are dead uncomfortable, I feel like I am choking whenever I have on a roll neck sweater. I get the fact that they do look good, and I see why people like them, but I have decided to give that trend a miss.

Avoid Itchy Knitwear

One thing I hate even more than the roll necks is an itchy knitwear. It is so very uncomfortable, especially when you are indoors, and the heating is on. Thank God the designers are beginning to see the light, and are giving us more comfortable knitwear, like this Luxemme Jumper and this H&M Jumper.

I know there are many tried and tested ways of getting rid of the itch in the knit, but I really can’t be bothered with any of that. I just want my knitwear to remain itch-free, so this year, I will be trying every jumper or sweater before buying.

Thanks for reading and have a great week x

OOTD: The Sport Luxe Look

IMG_2990

When it comes to sportswear, I go for comfort over trend. I like being comfortable when working out at home (I stopped paying my gym membership years ago. It was too expensive and I didn’t have the time) or going for a walk, so my sporty outfit has to be practical. I won’t work out in flats or heels, same way I won’t pair running shoes with an evening dress. That sounds like common sense but it will amaze you what some people can do.

I recently had the pleasure of picking out some sporty pieces from New Look Sportswear and I was so impressed. This collection is the ultimate sportswear this season. It is a must-have for every sporty chic out there. There is something for every girl; sports leggings, crop tops, sports bra, backpacks, basic shorts, sports trainers, name it, New Look has it.

It took me awhile to decide on what I wanted because there were just so many stylish, sporty pieces to choose from, but I eventually settled for a black sports work it out leggings (I couldn’t resist the cheeky ‘work it out’ statement), a grey sports vest (because it is so functional) and a black mini backpack (it was too cute).

I was ready for anything in this outfit.

I am not sure if you have noticed but the Sport Luxe Look became quite popular in 2014 and it has been around ever since. This look is all about subtlety, chic and style. It combines style and comfort effortlessly. I have fallen in love with this trend. What do you think of this look? Would you rock it to the gym?
