I recently came across this Estée Lauder Makeup Brush Cleaner some weeks and I was eager to try it on my makeup brushes. I aim to clean my makeup brushes once a month, or every 6 weeks. I hardly wear makeup during the week, so I don’t see why I should clean my makeup brushes every week as recommended by the professionals.
I have used MAC Brush Cleanser religiously for years, so when my last bottle ran out, I was happy to try another brand, and Estée Lauder came to mind. One of my beauty resolutions for the year is to try out as many beauty brands as possible, so I am happy I am going ahead with it. I got this bottle from Debenhams, and I am loving it so far.
This professional makeup brush cleaner promises to gently and thoroughly clean, sanitise and condition makeup brushes, both natural and synthetic.
How the brush cleaner works –
Dampen it, then apply Estée Lauder Makeup Brush Cleanser to brush hair. Use your fingers to work into a lather.
Rinse well, then blot excess water with a paper towel and reshape the brush.
Lay brush flat to dry. Place at edge of table or counter with bristles pointing out to air-dry completely. Avoid drying upright, which can cause bristles to spread and handles to crack.
Well I put makeup brush cleaner to test, and here are my thoughts:
- It is super affordable. A 235ml bottle goes for £12.
- I love the packaging. It comes with a spray head, which makes application easy, and avoids unnecessary spillage.
- It cleans the brushes throughly. My makeup brushes, especially the foundation and concealer brushes, were in desperate need of a good clean, and this Estée Lauder makeup brush cleaner fulfilled all its brushes. My brushes looked brand new after a good few sprays of this Estée makeup brush cleaner.
- This product is easily accessible at Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Amazon, and Estée Lauder.co.uk
I can’t fault this product at all. I will defintely be buying it again, and I recommende it to all the makeup lovers out there. This Estée Makeip Brush Cleaner will leave your bushes looking and feeling brand new. It does it says it would do on the pack.
Have you tried this product before? What are your thoughts? Which makeup brush cleaner do you swear by? Drop me a comment, let’s chat.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day.
I used to love Estée Lauder products, as they’re always such great quality, but I’ve recently switched to cruelty free cosmetics and unfortunately they no longer fit the bill, which is a great shame. I’d love to hear some cruelty free recommendations for a brush cleaner if you have any! 🙂
No I am afraid I do not. Not tried any x
That sounds really good. I’ve never used a dedicated brush cleaner at all, I just use normal liquid soap. Possibly I am doing this horribly wrong, but at least I do clean them.
This is a fab cleaner Joanne. You should try it x
Sounds good – I try to remember to wash my brushes once every couple of weeks, but I do it in washing up liquid, which is probably not the best idea!
Yea not good Julia. You need a gentle brush cleaner xo
No cons? I’ll have to try this one out. I get so scared of ruining my brushes with harsh soap formulas.
Yea harsh soap may ruin them x
I wash my make up brushes every few weeks because I use them a lot more often but I haven’t tried this spray. At the moment I am finding my lottie star brush cleaner spot to be the quickest and easiest way to clean them (esp as I have so many brushes) x
Off to check the Lottie star brush cleaner xo
This sounds and look great. I wash my make up brushes regularly in a warm soapy water. I guess that could be too harsh. I will definitely try this product. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for reading xo
I need this in my life and so does my daughter. We use coconut oil at the moment but it can be a bit messy.
Yikes that sounds messy. Try this one x
I have nver used this product before and never used esee lauder products before either. But i have heard great things about the brand
This is a great product..
I keep seeing more and more brush cleaners around I really should try one at the moment all I used it baby wash! x
Try this Sarah x
I cant believe it is only £12 I was expecting it to be at least double that x
Yea it is so affordable x
It sounds really good, I think £12 is really reasonable as they usually last you ages! I have only just bought a new one but its one to bare in mind for next time
Yea it is so affordable x
I have never heard of a brush cleaner before. This does sound great. Kaz x
They are Kaz x
I really should invest in some brush cleaner, this looks like something that would fit my needs. I am shocked that it is fairly priced – I expected it to be priced a little more expensive.
Yea I was shocked at the price too x
This sounds like a really nice reliable cleaner. I’d like to be able to stop going through brushes so quickly.
Try it Liz x
I am terrible I don’t clean my brushes which obviously I should do. I wouldn’t do it often because I don’t wear make up everyday.
Yea I hardly have makeup on during the week as I am always blogging away on my laptop at home..
I really need to get my brushes cleaned! I tend to keep swapping round, and buying new ones instead :$ I am definitely going to give this a go!
Oh you should be cleaning them. Worth a try x
I have always used MAC brush cleanser too – I should give a new brand a go 🙂
Yea you should x
Make up brush cleaner – I know I should but I tend to swish them about in some warm water and baby shampoo. Must buy proper cleaner.
Try this Helen x
I love Estee Lauder (my foundation is double wear) and this brush cleanser sounds fantastic, I think I need to invest in this.
Yea it is great cleaner Jessica. Thanks for reading x
Never tried but will definitely check this out. Looks so convenient and I heard most good reviews about this brand.
Yea it is a great product Jessica x
I’ve actually just recently purchased one of these to replace my MAC cleanser, I bought a funny looking rubber device with ridges that I brush the brush over and it means I’m not having to use as much of the cleaner which is a bonus.
Oh good. I need to find one of those x
I found one of these by chance on my virtual touring. It’s a wow from me and certainly on my Christmas list. Thought it might interest you
It is fab. Thanks for the link.
