Natural Hair Transition with SheaMoisture

If you have been reading Fashion and Style Police for some time, you would know all about my natural hair transition. I decided to go natural some months ago but I didn’t want to down the big chop route. So I had to grow out natural hair, while cutting off the dead hair tips gradually. It took a while but I am happy to say my hair is now fully natural.

I would be lying if I said growing my hair natural was a walk in the park. It wasn’t. Getting my hair to this stage has not been easy. It took a lot of hard work and determination to get here. And my hair is still a work in progress.

I felt like giving up so many times along the way. My hair is a 4C and it is very coarse, so it is hard to manage. However, but I am happy I didn’t. I am very confident with my hair now. I am show it off proudly and it is just growing like weed, which is amazing.

In my transition, I have used so many hair products. A few of them I won’t use again and many I would continue using. I recently came across the SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Range. This range is great for my thick hair. I am loving it so far.

I am a huge fan of the SheaMoisture brand. If you scroll through my natural hair transition posts, you would see me raving about 1 SheaMoisture range or the other. The products are great for natural hair and I believe they have helped in my hair growth. This Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine range is no exception. I love all the products in this range, especially the SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, which I have used before. The products keep my hair clean and moisturised. I will be shopping this range in future.

You can get this products in Boots stores, Amazon, eBay and other beauty stores.

Product Review – Marc Jacobs Decadence Fragrance

Marc Jacobs Decandence Review

If you a perfume lover like me, then you will know all about Marc Jacobs Decadence perfume and how amazing it is. I get that some people may not like the fragrance as much as I do, I know my sister doesn’t, but NO one can ignore the beauty of the bottle. Its like Marc Jacobs went all out with the packaging of this perfume. The bottle is the definition of beauty!

It is the best I have ever seen in all my 29 years of sniffing various fragrances. Ok, I haven’t really been sniffing fragrances all my 29 years on planet earth, but you get the point right? I have never seen any perfume bottle like this, so thumbs up to the brains behind this beauty. They deserve an outstanding award for the bottle design.

Let me tell you more a bit more about this glamorous bottle; it was designed to resemble a handbag with its faux python flap, a gold chain, and a silky black tassel, and it I think they nailed the look. The bottle looks exactly like a handbag. My daughter actually thinks it is one, lol.

Product Description:

Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum collection is an invitation to indulge. The sensual woody scent symbolises the ultimate in feminine glamour and sophistication.

Decadence elevates the irreverent spirit of Marc Jacobs fragrances to a new level of luxury with bold styling, opulent craftsmanship and a revolutionary bottle design inspired by one of Marc’s iconic handbags.

The fragrance instantly captivates with succulent Italian Plum, rich Bulgarian Rose and sensual Liquid Amber, to give you a signature of pure indulgence.

Here are my thoughts on Decadence:

PROS

  1. I love the sophisticated fragrance. It smells expensive and amazing.
  2. I love the bottle, like you know already. Did I mention the perfume came in a suede pack? I have never seen anything like this, the attention to detail is out of this world. I usually bin my perfume bottles, once I am done with the contents, but I will be keeping this bottle for a very long time.
  3. It stays on ALL day, which is great, and I can always tell when anyone has it on. It has a signature scent.
  4. The price varies from £48.50 – £86.00, for a 30ml, 50ml and 100ml, so there should be a bottle for every budget.
  5. You can grab a bottle online and in stores like Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, and many more.
  6. You only need a little to stay on all day.

CONS

None.

I can’t fault the Marc Jacobs Decadence at all. It is currently my favourite perfume on my dressing table, and I save it for VERY special occasions. If you a fan of other Marc Jacobs’ perfumes like Daisy, Lola, and Honey, then you will ADORE Decadence, or you could just grab one collect the bottle.

Product Review: Estée Lauder Makeup Brush Cleaner

Estee Lauder Image

I recently came across this Estée Lauder Makeup Brush Cleaner some weeks and I was eager to try it on my makeup brushes. I aim to clean my makeup brushes once a month, or every 6 weeks. I hardly wear makeup during the week, so I don’t see why I should clean my makeup brushes every week as recommended by the professionals.

I have used MAC Brush Cleanser religiously for years, so when my last bottle ran out, I was happy to try another brand, and Estée Lauder came to mind. One of my beauty resolutions for the year is to try out as many beauty brands as possible, so I am happy I am going ahead with it. I got this bottle from Debenhams, and I am loving it so far.

This professional makeup brush cleaner promises to gently and thoroughly clean, sanitise and condition makeup brushes, both natural and synthetic.

How the brush cleaner works –

Dampen it, then apply Estée Lauder Makeup Brush Cleanser to brush hair. Use your fingers to work into a lather.
Rinse well, then blot excess water with a paper towel and reshape the brush.
Lay brush flat to dry. Place at edge of table or counter with bristles pointing out to air-dry completely. Avoid drying upright, which can cause bristles to spread and handles to crack.

Well I put makeup brush cleaner to test, and here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. It is super affordable. A 235ml bottle goes for £12.
  2. I love the packaging. It comes with a spray head, which makes application easy, and avoids unnecessary spillage.
  3. It cleans the brushes throughly. My makeup brushes, especially the foundation and concealer brushes, were in desperate need of a good clean, and this Estée Lauder makeup brush cleaner fulfilled all its brushes. My brushes looked brand new after a good few sprays of this Estée makeup brush cleaner.
  4. This product is easily accessible at Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Amazon, and Estée Lauder.co.uk

CONS

I can’t fault this product at all. I will defintely be buying it again, and I recommende it to all the makeup lovers out there. This Estée Makeip Brush Cleaner will leave your bushes looking and feeling brand new. It does it says it would do on the pack.
