How to create income as a blogger

Blogging gives me so much joy. It has literally changed my life for the better in all areas. I am happy with the freedom and flexibility my job gives me. It has allowed me work from home, and care for my growing family. Blogging has also opened my eyes to other ways I can make money online, working from home. 10 Years ago, I didn’t know what blogging was about and didn’t read any blogs.

So much has changed in the last few years. I now know so much about blogging, thanks to running Fashion and Style Police for over 6 years. In this last 6 years, I have set up another blog and shut it down after running it for a year or so. I have written a book – How to Cash in as a Blogger (available on only Amazon as eBook). Also, I have become a Copywriter, Social Media Manager and Blogger Outreach Consultant. I have also set up a YouTube Chanel which I plan to work on some more this year.

Over the years, I have learnt various ways of creating income as a blogger. I have played around with many of them and these have been the most successful for me –

Sponsored Posts

This happens when brands pay you to write about their products and services. Sometimes, SEOs are only after a link to their client’s website in the post and are not too bothered about how you word the entire post. I earn a living by publishing sponsored posts on this blog. Sponsored posts bring the most income for me.  Brands contact me most of the time for sponsored posts. Sometimes I indicate interest when I see a tweet or Facebook post requesting bloggers for a campaign.

Ads on Social Media

I make money on social media by posting ads for brands. Sometimes, the brand may have a social media campaign, and after accounts with a certain number of followers/engagement. Most of the time, social media ads are requested together with sponsored posts, but a few times, they come standalone. It is worth growing your social media platforms with real followers and engagement if you plan to monetising them.

Affiliate Marketing

Another great way of making money as a blogger is through affiliate marketing. I have used quite a few and made some money off them. My current favourite is the Amazon Associates. It is working so well for me at the moment. There are so many great products available on Amazon, which means many different opportunities to make money.

Banner Ads

I make some money thanks to Banner Ads. I am signed up with WordAds, and I am happy with the income I am making from it. I also have banner ads I run for other brands outside of WordAds. It is a great way to make money once your blog is established. I usually agree on a fixed fee by month with private clients.

Selling Products and Services

I have found various copywriting, social media management and blogger outreach clients thanks to my blog – Fashion and Style Police. Many of my clients have found me one way or the other thanks to my online presence – through the blog or social media platforms. I also send blog readers to my   eBook – How to Cash in as a Blogger on Amazon. If you have a product or skill to advertise, having a blog will definitely help you get the word out there.

Best Skincare Products for during and after pregnancy

*Affiliate links.

Pregnancy does take a massive toll on our physical and mental health. Our skin also suffers thanks to the stretching, hormones and extra weight we carry. It can be too much sometimes, which is why we must take good care of our skin whilst pregnant and after pregnancy. We must remember to care for our skin regardless of how tired and busy we may be after delivery. I know how tiring it can be after delivery. I remember how tired I was after birthing the twins. Skincare was the last thing on my mind. Even taking a shower felt like a chore. I didn’t feel like doing anything but sleep. So I know how easy it is to neglect your skin during and after pregnancy. But caring for your skin is best and your skin will thank you for it for years and years to come.

Here are some of the 3 skincare products you should try during and after pregnancy –

Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturiser £11.59

This Moisturiser is great for those struggling with extra dry skin during or after pregnancy. It works so well, locking moisture for up to 48 hours, which is so amazing. Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturiser is gentle on skin but yet very effective. I recommend this moisturiser for any one dealing with extra dry skin, especially during pregnancy.

This moisturiser is all you need to get your skin glowing again. It absorbs quickly into extra dry skin, including very rough spots like heels, elbows, and knees. It penetrates the five layers of skin to heal dryness at the root.

Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare Oil 200ml £13.69

I have been using Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare Oil for many years now and I can testify to how amazing this body oil is. It is such a great skincare product. If you must use 1 skincare product during and after pregnancy, I strongly recommend you use Bio-Oil. This oil helps prevent formation of stretch marks during pregnancy and helps improve the appearance of stretch marks you may have already.  It also helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, new and old scars.

I always make sure I have a bottle of Bio-Oil in my bathroom cabinet. It is so useful, which is why it is UK’s No.1 selling scar & stretch mark product.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Massage Stretch Marks Lotion £7.95

This is another great product I used during and after my pregnancy. It contains Shea Butter, Argan Oil, Elastin and Collagen which helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks.  This body lotion is also free of Mineral Oil, Parabens and Phthalates. The mild fragrance is so amazing. I really like it. It also helps in reducing cellulite marks, which is many of us battle with. If you are after trying a new body lotion to combat stretch marks and cellulite marks, then you should give this a try.

Have you tried any of these skincare products before? What are your thoughts on them? Please share your views in the comments section below.

It is the Easter weekend, and we are having a very relaxing break. We don’t have any massive plans because we just got back from our 2 week break in Essex and London some days ago. I should write a post about our holiday in the South of England. We had the opportunity to visit many cool places, and the kiddies had a blast. The posts on our trip will be up sometime next week hopefully. For now it is all about Easter. What plans do you have for the Easter break?

It is our first weekend back since our holiday so we have a bit to get done and some good old rest. Rest is always good, and I plan to be getting a lot of that this Easter weekend. The weather has been amazing here in Cheshire. It looks like we will be skipping spring again this year. I remember it being this warm last April and it carried on until September. Let’s see if it happens again this year.

Alala by Aken

For this outfit post, I am taking it back to the roots. I am wearing an African Printed Bomber Jacket made in Nigeria. I really like this piece. The material is really colourful and pretty. I also like the design a lot. The embroidery design finishes off the look really well. It is a very stylish piece, great for the season. The fashion designer – Alala by Aken, did a great job here. I have another piece from this creative Nigerian Fashion Designer, and I will be showing that off in the next few days. So keep reading.

Now back to this gorgeous piece, I found this piece very easy to style. A pair of black jeans, sunglasses and trainers completed the look. This is definitely one look I know I will be recreating a lot this spring/summer season. What do you think of it?
