Hey Hair styling lovers! We have another product review post for your reading pleasure. I came across this amazing brand – Locks in Goodness some weeks ago and we have been busy trying the Locks in Goodness Hair Smoothie and Hair Gel from the brand. We are forever trying out new products here. I enjoy reviewing products and telling you all about them. Which is why I was super thrilled to have discovered this new hair styling brand. I tried the Locks in Goodness Hair Smoothie and Hair Gel on my daughter’s hair and I have carried on using the styling products on her hair since then. We really like them.

The Natural Hair Smoothie is a leave-in conditioner. It also detangles the hair. The Natural Hair Gel is great for styling the hair. It can be used for spiking, fixing, shaping and keeping hairstyles in place.

The Benefits of Lavender Oil for Skin

Hey beauty and skincare lovers! Hope you are having a great start to the week. I am a huge fan of Lavender Oil. It is one of my favourite essential oils. I use it pretty much everyday and the benefits of this amazing oil are too numerous to list here but I will try my best to mention a couple. For those who have never used Lavender Oil, it is an essential oil derived from the lavender plant. This essential oil can be used on the hair and skin, and it can also be taken orally and breathed in through aromatherapy. For this post, I will be focusing on the benefits of lavender oil for skin only.

Essentials Oils Image

Combats skin issues

Lavender oil can prevent and heal acne by unclogging pores and reducing inflammation. Like all other essential oils, this lavender oil has to be diluted with a carrier oil. My preferred carrier oil is coconut oil. Diluting lavender oil and coconut oil creates the perfect facial oil to help you combat acne, pimples, spots and other skin issues. You ca also dilute lavender oil with a carrier oil to create a facial toner.

Skin lightening oil

If you are dealing with hyperpigmentation, lavender oil may be all you need to help you lighten the dark areas on your skin. As always, dilute a few drops of lavender oil with a carrier oil of your choice and apply it daily to your area.

Anti-ageing oil

Lavender oil is great for combating wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It contains antioxidants which are great for shielding the face from free radicals. To get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, dilute a few drops of lavender oil with coconut oil, and apply the mixture to your face twice a day.

Sunburn treatment

Lavender oil has anti-inflammatory abilities which are great for the treatment of sun burn. To do this, combine 3 drops of lavender oil with 3 drops of coconut oil, and apply the mixture three times a day to the affected area. You can also put the mixture in a spray bottle and apply on the affected area three times a day until the burn heals.

Music is like food to my soul

I am a huge music lover. You can easily catch me listening to some of the greatest hits on my Spotify playlist. I listen to music everyday and with the current pandemic worldwide, music is like food to my soul. It literally feeds me. I listen to many different types of music, from gospel to rhythm and blues, rock to pop. As long as the beat is good and the lyrics make sense, I would listen to it.

Here are some of the jams I have been listening to these past few days –

Whitney Houston – I Didn’t Know My Own Strength

I love Whitney Houston so much. Her voice gives me the chills every time I hear it. This song is one of my favourite. Her voice wasn’t as good on the track but the lyrics are amazing. They literally spoke to me and it felt like she was singing my story. It is such a lovely song.

Idina Menzel – Into the Unknown

This track is one of the songs from Frozen 2. If you have seen the movie, you would know all about this amazing song. My kids love it, I love it even more. The lyrics are amazing and Idina Menzel’s voice is just amazing. It is one of my favourite songs at the moment.

Sia – Rainbow

This is another song loved by the kiddies and me. I am a huge fan of SIA. Her voice is just out of this world. I love the lyrics of the song and the beat is quite catchy. I bet the My Little Pony fans love this song.

Luther Vandross – Dance With My Father

Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross is one of my favourite songs ever. I have been listening to it a lot for some weeks now. Luther Vandross has such a lovely voice and the song’s lyrics are so meaningful.

Boyz 2 Men – The Colour of Love

The Colour of Love is such a beautiful song. It is one song I always find myself singing along to even though my voice sounds nothing like theirs. This song is always on my go-to playlist.

Tim Godfrey and Travis Greene – Nara

This gospel song is simply beautiful. I love everything it so much. It has lifted me from all sorts of low vibes and energy. I think Tim Godfrey and Travis Greene did a great job with this song.

Mercy Chinwo – Chinedum

Mercy Chinwo’s voice is perfect! I love her songs and this Chinedum is now one of my favourites. The lyrics resonate with my soul and the beat has a great vibe.

Robbie Williams – Angels

This song speaks to my soul. I love the lyrics and Robbie Williams has an amazing voice. He did a wonderful job with this track. It is one of my favourite tracks ever!

I listen to all these songs on my Spotify, so you can download them on their if you have the app. The links here are to the YouTube videos for reference but I don’t watch music videos much.

What do you think of these songs? Is your favourite on the list? I bet you can see how music is like food to my soul.
