Cryotherapy: The Ice Age

Cryotherapy: The Ice Age

So if you follow me on Twitter, you will know all about my trip to Nicky Clark Manchester over the weekend for a cryotherapy session. Well if you didn’t know, you know now. I had an amazing cryotherapy session with the lovely Jourdanne at the salon, and it was an amazing experience.

If you remember, I had my first cryotherapy treatment on my stomach, some months ago. Well, this time I went for the face, and I am happy I did. This session was amazing, it was a lot better than my first session I had at a different clinic. I am so happy I went ahead with it.

For those who don’t want cryotherapy is about, let me break it down:

Cryotheraphy is the use of extremely low temperatures to reduce fat in body areas, improve skin tone, smooth facial wrinkles, reduces acne, relieves pain, injuries and muscle damage, decrease inflammation, and increase cell rejuvenation. The treatment originated from Japan, and the whole idea behind it, is the liquid nitrogen-based freezing technology on a concentrated area to trigger a physiological reaction to cold temperatures.

Here are some of the benefits of cryotherapy:

  1. No pain, no surgery, no side-effects.
  2. Skin rejuvenation.
  3. Stretch mark reduction.
  4. Skin tightening.
  5. Wrinkle reduction.
  6. Bum lift.
  7. Face lift
  8. Acne reduction.
  9. Swelling reduction
  10. Recovery from sports injuries.

I can go on and on about the benefits of the cryotherapy treatment but instead of writing about that, I am going to tell you about my second experience, which was a lot better than my first.

This session lasted for an hour. It started off with a consultation, form filling and all, and then I wrapped up in warm towels and started the treatment.

Using Neal’s Yard Remedies products, my face was cleansed, exfoliated and toned. A face mask was applied to my face and left for 15 minutes, while I enjoyed a shoulder, neck and scalp massage whilst listening to some cool music. It was super relaxing.

After 15 minutes, the face mask was removed, a face toner was applied and then what felt like very cold ice spray was applied for 6 minutes on each side of the face.

After the treatment, each side of the face was massaged to stimulate blood flow, a toner to remove oil, and finally, a moistuirser.

I am sure you can see a clear difference in the before and after pictures. My skin tone looks evenly toned, a lot smoother and brighter. I am extremely happy with the results. I found the treatment relaxing and I recommend it to every woman needing a face lift. Go for a Cryo Face Lift instead, at £85 for a single treatment, it is worth every penny. That treatment hour was my most relaxing hour of the month.

I have a short video clip of me undergoing the treatment on Instagram, so feel free to take a look.

Beauty Muse – Terri Hatcher

Terri Hatcher Beauty Image

The American beauty – Terri Hatcher is the beauty muse I am ravishing today. The actress is a naturally beautiful woman. She has an amazing figure and her facial features are amazing for a 51-year-old woman. I still can’t get over the fact that this woman is in her fifties. I know she has been around for ages, I remember watching her on the TV series – Lois & Clarks – The New Adventures of Superman. It is like she has grown older before our very eyes.

Some years ago, Terri bared herself as she filmed her daily routine for the Oprah Winfrey Show. She filmed her journey from waking up, looking not so good, with eyebags and all, to stepping in front of cameras on the set of Desperate Housewives, looking stunning. It was a good watch.

Terri Hatcher is known for her love for exercising, eating healthy and regular facials. Guess that is how she maintains her amazing physique and beautiful face.

Her former skin care therapist – Ingrid Seaburn, spills the beans on the celebrity’s beauty regime –

“I’d give her different treatments. I used a massage technique for toning the muscles in her face – it also oxygenated the face. [I also used] vitamin A, exfoliated [her] regularly and used a micro-current treatment with positive and negative [currents] to tone the muscles.”

Terri Hatcher’s top tips for feeling healthy are –

Water, sleep, laughter. Closely followed by exercise, travel, love and organic vegetables, fruits and protein.

I agree with her, water is so important. I really need to take more water. I understand the benefits of drinking more water. The more I drink water, the better I feel on the inside and I look better on the outside too but I find water so plain and boring. So I try to take coconut water because I think it is the closest drink to still water. I find other flavoured versions a little too sweet.

Do you enjoy drinking water or do you struggle like I do?

Beauty Muse – Eva Longoria

I have always admired Eva Longoria, right from her Desperate Housewives days. I mean, who didn’t love Gabrielle Solis? Eva Longoria looks as beautiful on the outside as she looks on the inside, a real Beauty Muse, I love her.

For a woman over 40 to look as good as she looks is beyond belief. She is blessed with some amazing genes, and the weirdest thing is that, she is looking even more beautiful as she grows older. I pray I look half as good as she does when I am 40.

I love everything about Eva Longoria. She is my definition of the ‘Perfect Looking Woman’. Her flawless golden skin, beautiful sparkly eyes, black silky hair and her very petite frame. Her body shape is my definition of ‘Pretty Cute’ and it looks amazing.

I was super curious about Eva’s beauty routine, so I took the liberty of researching her beauty tips and I discovered quite a few. Here are 3 of my favourites:

Her Biggest Beauty Secret

“Moisturising. Because I fly so much, hydration is important. When you have good skin, everything else kind of falls into place. Also, I use blush with shimmer in it. That way, your skin glows and people notice it.”

Her 3 Makeup Musthaves

“Firstly, mascara. Ever since doing the shoot for Million Lashes I have been addicted. I love the brush and the texture of the mascara. It’s not clumpy and is the blackest black. Then all I would need is a bronzer and some fresh water.”

Beauty Gadget Musthave

“Tweezers. I am obsessed with plucking my eyebrows. I always end up doing them on a plane at 30,000ft as the light is so good.”

I am intrigued by this beauty, there is something chilled out about her, and I love the fact that she is so relatable.

Happy Tuesday.
