The Style Icon – Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung is one woman I admire in the fashion industry. This 31-year-old beauty is an English fashion designer, model, contributing editor at British Vogue and TV presenter. She came out from nowhere and instantly became a fashion queen, her name is on the lips of every fashion follower. With her enviable wardrobe, a jeans clothing line and a Mulberry bag named in her honour, she is a true Style Icon. Her signature style is a work of art and it is one of the most copied looks on the planet. Alexa Chung is that amazing.

This style icon has won the British Style Icon award for the last three years, at the British Fashion Awards and I am not surprised. She is always a step ahead of trends, her style is effortlessly chic and she manages to WOW me every time I see her.

Here are 5 style tips taken from her pop-culture fashion book It

‘A navy blue jumper is potentially the most boring item anyone could design and yet it’s my most important possession’

‘Looking effortless takes a lot of effort. When I get new Converse I dedicate some time at home to shoving mud on them so they don’t look squeaky clean.’

‘Thank you, Jane Birkin, for providing me with infinite outfit ideas and the confidence to dress like a boy but act like a girl.

‘I think I was interested in ponies and all the relevant paraphernalia because of the fashion as much as the animals. That silhouette of skinny trousers, ankle boots and an oversized sweatshirt is one I never managed to get away from’

‘Practicality is high on my list… I’ll always prefer a girl in an oversized t-shirt as opposed to an undersized boob tube but that’s because I’m a girl, or a tomboy, and not a boy’

My First Jumpsuit

So if you have been following my blog for a while, you will know I have never taken an outfit post wearing a jumpsuit. A romper yes, a jumpsuit no. I fell in love with this Luxemme Marchelle crop top jumpsuit as soon as I saw it and I knew I had to have it. The Jumpsuit was screaming my name. Just look at it.

FSP Edit

It is designed as a crop top but reveals nothing as it is a one piece. It is well-tailored, and draws the eye to the tiny waist, perfect for the curvy woman. It also gives the illusion of a taller silhouette, perfect for the petite woman. The colour – navy blue is one of my favourite colours. This jumpsuit is a perfect piece for me. I love it.

I see myself wearing this jumpsuit a lot this season. It is so comfy and looks so good on me, if I may say so myself, ha. It is available in sizes 8 – 14, I am wearing a size 10.

I have this new bracelet in my jewellery collection and I am so loving it. This Guess Heatwave yellow gold-plated bracelet features glittering coral stones and matching ribbon. This beauty is very different from my other bracelets in my collection and it goes with quite a number of pieces and accessories in my wardrobe. I also love the fact that it is adjustable as I have a very tiny wrist.

I see myself wearing this bracelet all thorough the season. I am in love. What do you think of my outfit? Sound off in the comment section.

OOTD: Sunday’s Best

Hey peoples. Happy Sunday. I hope you are all having an amazing weekend.I took these pictures some weeks ago and I forgot all about it until now.

Sunday's Best

Excuse the wrinkled pants, I travelled to Milton Keynes to meet up with family and friends, and I didn’t realise that my lovely pants were wrinkled (even though I ironed it before packing) until I had it on. It was too late to dash back into the hotel to get it re-ironed so here it is.

OOTD SUNDAY BEST

As a Fashion Blogger, this is totally unacceptable but I promise to be a bit more careful next time.
