A Honda Civic Car

If you have been reading Fashion and Style Police for a while, you would know all about my love for sleek, stylish cars. The Honda Civic is one of them. You would also know about my journey to passing my driving test. I am still in the process of getting that sorted. However, I plan to have that done and dusted before the end of next year.

Why that long I hear you ask? Well, I have wasted thousands of pounds in the last 6 years, taking driving lessons on and off, passing a theory test and having it expire 2 years after, and failing the practical driving test. With all that money down the drain, I am no longer in the position to waste anymore money. So I have to wait until the time is right, and the wallet is ready.

While I am waiting, I have been keeping myself motivated by dreaming of the perfect car for me. I would like a very beautiful car with a sleek interior. Getting a car before I start my driving lessons is what I am working towards. Having the car of my dreams (or close to it) would keep me motivated. I currently have my eye on a few Honda cars, and the Honda Civic is at the top of the list.

Honda describes the new Honda Civic as a car that’s made to impress, and I agree! The stylish sleek design is so stylish, and I like the size. It would be perfect for my lifestyle. I also like the sound of the Honda Civic’s dashboard. The ability to link up to Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ sounds cool! This dashboard would enable me play my favourite tunes on the go, which I am sure would make a great driving experience.

Picturing myself driving this beauty feels great! I have been reading the Honda Civic Handbook on Vertu Motors’ website, and I loving the features of the new model.

I know some people may disagree with the idea of a sleek car being a motivating factor when it comes to passing a test. However, I know I will be more determined to pass my driving tests if I have my dream car parked in front of my house. I guess it is the way I am wired.

Also, I would be able to take more driving lessons in my spare time, and with my own car. Which I hope would quicken the whole process.

Freelancers are Happy

It’s been a couple of years since I left my 9-to-5. Although I have no regrets about starting my own freelance business, there are days when I wonder how life would have still have been like if I had remained in my 9-to-5. For many people, transitioning from a 9-to-5 to being a freelancer can be scary. There are various reasons for this. But the question is, would remaining in your 9-to-5 make you happy? Is this something that you would be willing to do for the rest of your life? Are freelancers happy?

Are Freelancers Happy Image

Many freelancers are enjoying being able to run their own businesses from the comfort of their homes and being in control of their finances. They love being able to travel whenever they want and still be able to catch up on work. However, majority of freelancers/self-employed work on their own at home, which can be very quite and lonely. If you need a buzzing office environment to work, the whole idea of doing your own thing may not be for you just yet.

Although I can’t speak for all the freelancers out there, I can say from my experience that I am a lot happier than I was in my 9-5. Here are some of the reasons why –

Freelancers are happy because they have flexible schedules

I have more time to do what I want. I can work day or night. I do have deadlines for my clients, but I am not tied to fixed schedules. I don’t have opening hours nor closing hours. I can work at anytime and anywhere, which is the best part of being a freelancer. You actually get to work in more relaxed conditions.

Freelancers are happy because they can determine their income

Traditional workers have to work extremely hard in order to earn a promotion that will give them a raise in their paycheck. And if you’ve ever worked at a 9-to-5 that can take years to attain.

The good news is that freelancers don’t ever have to worry about facing that problem. If I want to raise my income, I raise my rates, develop new income streams or pitch to more potential clients. The level of my income is in my hands, kind of. I can choose to earn as much as I want, so long as I put in the work and market my services.

Freelancers are happy because they get to spend more time with their loved ones

Now this is a biggie for me. I remember when I was working in my 9-to-5, and I remember working very late. I even on some weekends and bank holidays. Now that I am a mum, I can’t imagine working those hours. It just won’t work. I respect people who are happy to work long hours and all, but it is just not a lifestyle I can afford right now.

With my business, I get to enjoy the opportunity to be with my family and still keep the business up and running.

Freelancers are happy because they can positively impact others

Most freelancers are mentors to a host of other upcoming freelancers. As they teach people how to start and run their own businesses, they begin to impact in the lives of those people. There’s nothing as fulfilling as being able to touch the lives of people who will better their own world. It is one of the best feelings ever!

Indoor Skiing with the family at Snozone

Prior to the kids closing from pre-school for the summer holiday, I knew I had to plan various activities to keep us busy as a family. My kiddies get really restless and mischievous, like most kids when they are bored. So I had to plan out different activities for each week. We are half way into the 6 weeks summer holidays, and so far, so good, we have been busy. They have been to 3 parties, visited Leicester, Essex and London. And last weekend, we were at Snozone Milton Keynes for a fun afternoon of indoor skiing.

We had an amazing time. It was our first time skiing, and it was so much fun! We got to Snozone an hour before our private ski lesson was scheduled as advised, and headed off to the reception desk for our rental gears, and then to the changing rooms. We met our very helpful coach – Nicola, who put us through the skiing techniques and what we all we needed to know.

The lesson was centered around the kids, who both had a lovely time, especially my little man. He took up the snow slopes like a pro. Looking at him skiing, you would think he has done this before. Little man was so confident, and picked up the basics immediately. He was loving it!

We had an amazing time as a family. I am always very interested in activities we could all take part in as a family, and skiing is now one of our favourite sports, thanks to the lovely service we got at Snozone. The environment was safe and welcoming, with the real snow (my daughter was so in love with the snow, she couldn’t stop touching it), lovely coach, and excellent equipment. It is a great indoor activity to enjoy with the whole family, a break from the outdoors and the rain we have been having lately. A great way to have fun indoors, and escape the confused weather we are currently experiencing.

Why are Indoor Skiing Lessons so cool

Ski lessons are also a great gym alternative. Our 1 hour lesson felt like a good body workout, I felt so good afterwards. And the kids had a well deserved nap shortly.

Now that we have experienced indoor skiing at Snozone, we have explored the thrill and fun of this snow sport, and we are sold! I know we will be skiing again for sure. It is a fun family friendly activity, and it is good for my waist line too!

Where can you find Snozone?

Snozone is open all year round (except Christmas Day). You could find Snozone in Milton Keynes (which we visited), and Castleford. Both venues provide first-class indoor snow facilities for skiing and snowboarding, as well as other snow experiences, such as sledging, and family snow play sessions. A great way to have fun and work out.
