Festival Season Essentials with Wish

*PR samples.

The festival season is here and I am so excited. I have always wanted to attend a festival in the UK, and I think I am going to finally get the chance this summer. We have a couple of festivals around us and we have decided on exploring 2 of them a bit more. Obviously as a twin mum, with very active 5 year olds., it has to be a family friendly festival. I want the twins to have a lovely summer holiday, and I can’t wait for the summer adventures to begin.

I got some lovely festival essentials from WISH some days ago, and I am looking forward to making the most of them. They items came in this personalised box below.

Casual Leather Bag

A stylish casual backpack is a festival fashion essential. The last thing you need is to have a regular handbag. That won’t work for long. Plus as a twin mum, I can have my hands free with all the important put away in this backpack.

I love the simple design of this backpack. It is a must have this festival season, and it can be used on a regular day out too!

Wellington Boots

A good pair of wellington boots is always useful. It is raining cats and dogs as I type this post, and that is the lovely British weather for you. You never know how the weather would turn out, so it is best to go to festivals prepared with your wellies at the ready.

I love this pair right here. The black and hot pink combination is a beauty. The low heel is also a sensible idea. I won’t wear anything higher to a festival.

Sunglasses

If you have been reading Fashion and Style Police for sometime, you would know all about my love for sunglasses, or sunnies like I call them sometimes. I am never without a pair especially in the summer season.

This Wish Sunglasses would work great for festivals. They come in different colours, so there should be a pair for everyone.

Water Bottles

Water bottles are definitely festival essentials. I won’t leave the house without ours. My kids drink a lot of water, especially on warm days, so we carry a lot of water with us when out and about.

I love these colourful water bottles from Wish. I have the blue bottle and it is really cute. It is great that they are coloured but yet transparent. I like to see what we are drinking.

Waterproof Jacket

This light weight waterproof jacket is a festival essential this summer. I love the colour and the fact that I can carry it about in a compact pouch until I need it.

The waterproof jacket comes in various colours – green, yellow, orange, blue, and many other colours. So there should be a shade for everyone. I like the pink shade the best and I am looking forward to wearing it.

Free Summer Activities for Kids

School is shutting for summer in about 4 weeks, so it makes sense to have plans for the 6 weeks summer break. Money can be tight for many of us and let’s face, we all need free summer activities to keep the kids busy, regardless of how rich we may be. You can’t be on a beach or in a theme park every day for 6 weeks, so you have to think ahead of how to keep the little ones engaged.

I have lots planned for the summer holidays. As a work from home mum, working at home with the kids can be hard.  I will be planning lots of different activities and be fitting in work around our schedule, so everyone is happy.

Here are some free summer activities for kids we will be making the most of –

Go for walks

We love to go for walks. The kids enjoy being outdoors so we will be going for lots of long walks in our area.  There is something so refreshing about being outdoors especially when the weather is nice. It is a good way to get those steps in and stay fit. Plus, fresh air and sunshine does wonders for our state of mind so make the most of this free activity with the kids this summer.

Make the most of your garden space

Now I know I am so guilty of not making the most of our garden. We don’t use our garden as much as we should and that is going to change this summer. I am going to get fun stuff for the kids to play with and make the garden as child-friendly as possible. It is amazing how running around and playing can keep the kids so busy for hours.

Riding bicycles and scooters

We have spots in our estate where kids can ride their scooters and bicycles safely away from the road and cars. We are going to be visiting the spot quite regularly. I like being able to sit on a bench and watch the kids ride safely. It is another exciting activity for them to do outside the house, and it is free once you have the bike/scooter and safely accessories!

Visit your local playground

I will be visiting the local playground with the kids. Luckily for us, it is not far away from where we live, so we will be making the most of it. The kids enjoying playing on the slides, swings and the other rides. We can easily spend an hour there. A good spot to spend an afternoon.

Baking

For days when the weather is not playing nice, we will be baking indoors. The twins are very into baking now and are interested in the whole process. So, we will be doing a lot of baking this summer. It is a fun educative activity for the whole family.

Camping in the garden

Camping in the garden is on our list this summer. It is something we have never done but want to do, and I think the right time is the summer. We will be getting a tiny camping tent and all the necessary camping gear to make it as much fun as possible.

These are just some examples of free summer activities we will be doing this summer holiday. Of course, we will be doing other paid activities like soft play, theme park, visiting a farm, and the likes. But more of free activities, so a lot of thinking outside the box.

What plans do you have for the summer holiday? Please share them in the comments section below.

Thanks for reading.
