What to put into hampers for teachers

I love giving and receiving gifts, especially thoughtful ones. Regardless of the price tag, giving a gift shows that you had the receiver in mind and it is really the thought that counts. I have recently discovered the beauty of giving hamper gifts to people. When I can’t decide on just one thing to get, I get a couple in a beautiful basket and gift it to someone special. The kids will be finishing pre school in a few weeks and I have been busy thinking of what to gift their teachers. They have been in this pre school for almost 2 years, and their teachers have been great. It would be nice to gift them an amazing hamper.

To be honest, I think teachers all over the world work really hard in comparison to what they earn. And I strongly they enjoy the work they do. Teaching is not a job you do for money. I believe the teachers are passionate about their jobs and they do it with all over their hearts and I celebrate them everyday. Kids are hard work and majority of the teachers are doing a great job. They deserve to be celebrated a bit more.

What to put into hampers for teachers

So what do we put into hampers for teachers? Here are some ideas –

Milk Chocolate Hamper

Chocolates are always a great idea for hampers. This Thorntons Milk Chocolate Hamper would be an amazing gift. We gave some Thorntons Chocolates to the teachers last Christmas and they all loved them. So I would probably be popping some Thorntons Chocolate into our gift hampers.

Thank You Card

A thank you card is another thing I would probably pop into a hamper. Sometimes just saying thank you for all the years of hard work isn’t enough. Which is where the thank you card could be helpful.

A Bottle of Wine

I would definitely be putting. bottle of wine into a hamper for the teachers. There are a few wines I have tried this year that I really like, so a few of them would be gifted. Nothing says thank you better than a bottle of a good wine.

A Hand Cream

Another great item to pop into a hamper is a hand cream. Most people generally like hand creams, so it is a safe gift option. Going for a natural hand cream like this ODLIQUE Lemon Butter Hand Smoothie would be a great idea.

Tea

A pack of tea is also a popular item for hampers. Most people like British Tea, so it is a good idea to put a pack into a hamper.

There are many items you could put in a hamper. It really depends on the recipient and the relationship you have with him/her.

Thanks for reading. Have a smashing day!

Road Trip from New York to Maryland

After spending 48 hours in New York City, our next stop was Maryland. We decided we were going to drive down, so we rented a car from Enterprise. The process of renting the car was smooth and straight forward. The car was in a good shape, and car seats were provided for the kids as requested.

The road trip was fun overall. The kids didn’t bug as much, so it was a good journey. As soon as we got out of New York, and got into New Jersey, there was difference. The air felt different. The people looked a lot happier. It was like a breath of fresh air. We stopped over at a service centre in New Jersey, so I had the opportunity to take in the city and observe the people. People watching is one of my favourite things to do. I also got the chance to grab a New Jersey souvenir. It would be amazing to spend a few days in the city one day. I am sure there would be a lot to see.

Driving in the US is always fun. The driving rules are different from the rules in the UK, so you have to pay attention. The roads are so wide in comparison to the tiny roads we have here. And there were quite a few toll gates on our way, but it was all good. We all enjoyed the road trip, and I can see us doing it again, from other cities.

I know we are a bit adventurous when it comes to how we holiday. And I like that about our trips. When the kids get older, we plan to be even more adventurous. I would love to visit California one day. The distance is putting me off, but I am hoping we could make the trip when the kids are a bit older. There is a lot to see in the world and I plan to see as much as possible.

You can see more of my trip on my 48 hours in New York and Madame Tussauds posts. I will be writing more on my stay in Maryland. I didn’t get to do much of exploring. Majority of my time was spent shopping. We planned to take the kids to see the White House and other parts of Washington DC, but we didn’t get the chance to do all that. It was my 3rd time in Maryland so I have done most of the tourist stuff already but maybe when next we are in the area, we will get to do more.

Ever Thought About Starting Your Own Clothing Line? Here’s What You Need to Know

Have you ever found that perfect clothing line and just felt as though the designer drew inspiration straight from your head? It is almost as if the clothes were designed specifically for you because they fall so in line with your likes, dislikes, designs, and taste.

It might even cause you to feel a little frustrated because you see how popular it is and you think of how you could be on the designing end of that clothing line. But, guess what? That designer felt that same way at some point. At one point in the life and career of that designer, they were new to the trade. They didn’t quite know what was going on or where to start. And, they probably even found themselves envying over other designers that they thought they could only hope and dream to be.

Even large clothing companies, like GCGme, had to have a beginning. The matter of the fact is, we all have to start somewhere. And, if you feel that fire and passion to join the fashion industry and start your own clothing line, then, by all means, use that fire and passion to create something unique and new. Put that drive to good use and reach for the stars.

But, if you are truly thinking about starting your own fashion line, although the fear won’t magically disappear, it never hurts to be prepared with a little advice first:

The commitment is real

You’ve probably heard the saying, “the struggle is real.” Well, when it comes to starting a fashion line, the commitment is real, too.

There will be a lot of trials, tribulations, and frustration along the way. So you need to determine from the beginning if you are in it for the long haul. And, while it might sometimes seem like the biggest challenge in your life, the reward will be even far greater than that.

So, start out knowing that you will need to spend several hours drawing and re-drawing your designs. You will need to be dedicated enough to visit fashion shows, parks, clothing stores, and art galleries for inspiration.

To truly design a fashion line that is from the heart, you need to be prepared to fully engulf yourself in this new commitment.

So, don’t forget – the commitment is real.

You need a gotta-have-it item

The key to reeling people into your clothing line is to develop that must-have item. You have to develop that one article of clothing that nobody can live without. Then, this will take customers from loving that item to them thinking “why not try these out, too” when it comes to your other pieces.

It can be anything from a skirt to a shirt. But, start by developing that one key item that your clothing line is centered around.

Start with a prototype

It is probably no secret to you that manufacturing clothes are not cheap. And, while it might be your best work yet, there is still no guarantee that everyone will just fall in love with it. The competition in the fashion industry right now is fierce. So, you need to be sure you know what market you are getting into.

Instead of just making everything and throwing it out there, start by developing a prototype to show potential buyers what they are looking at. Not only does this save you some money in comparison to developing several of the real thing, but it might just be the deciding factor that lands your brand a spot in your local clothing store.

The Internet is your friend

Of course, just about every fashion designer wants to have a brick-and-mortar store. A solid, physical store that has their name plastered everywhere and is just a unit full of their products. But, the overhead on a physical store is quite high.

So, start by setting up an e-commerce store. The Internet is your friend and e-commerce is simply selling your products via the Internet. There are several sites you could use to sell your product at first. Then you could eventually get your own site to market your product using a web hosting platform such as Shopify. It saves you a ton of money, you can operate from home, and honestly, what customer isn’t shopping on the Internet these days?

The Final Touches

Nobody said starting your own clothing line would be easy. But, it will most likely be worth it regardless of the outcome. The experience and opportunities you will be presented with will help you in several aspects of life, for years to come.
