Style Icon – Nick Cannon

The style icon today is the stylish Nick Cannon. For those who do not know, Nicholas Scott “Nick” Cannon is an American rapper, actor, comedian, entrepreneur, record producer, radio and television personality.

Nick Cannon is famous for being the lead act in the movie Drumline, and he is also famous for being once married to the talented and beautiful Mariah Carey. The couple were so in love, Nick even got a tattoo of her name ‘Mariah’ written boldly on his back, but has since had it removed. In other to get rid of the tattoo, he got a massive crucified Jesus on the top of it, which looks good on him. He is so lucky that there are now effective ways to get rid of tattoos, or he would have been left with the name of his ex on his back for life. Can you imagine that? That would suck so bad. I wonder why these celebs (and people in love in general) never learn. Having the name of your lover on your body is a very bad idea, because you never know what would become of your love.

I do hope Nick and Mariah get back together. I think they look good as couple, and I like them together. Their twins are super gorgeous and they make a great team. Rumour has it that they are back together, but on the down low and are looking to get married again, so fingers and toes crossed for them.

Nick Cannon’s style is so cool, and that is the reason why he is my style icon today. His style is daring, fun and eccentric. He has the charisma and charm to look good in anything, and he knows it.

Nick Cannon definitely deserves the spot as a Style Icon. What do you think?

Celebrity Wedding Dresses to Remember

I remember shopping around for my wedding dress many years ago; it was a fabulous experience. It didn’t take me too long to decide on a dress. I knew exactly what I wanted, and what bridal accessories I needed, and once I wore the dress, I knew it was the one.

Most wedding dresses, and weddings in general tend to cost a fortune. Just take a look at this well researched infographic, thanks to JJ Suspenders. This infographic explains the average wedding costs, so it is great a more great visual explanation, for those who are not aware.

This infographic is based on the cost of products and services in the US, but is also very similar to what we have here in the UK and most parts of the world. Weddings are generally expensive, and a big chunk of a wedding budget is spent on the wedding dress.

The good thing about shopping for wedding dresses is that there are so many options available. And we can also take inspiration from many celebrity brides and recreate more affordable alternatives.

Here are 3 celebrity wedding dresses that caught my eye –

Solange

I remember doing a double take when I first spotted this wedding dress. Solange broke the internet with this Humberto Leon for Kenzo floor-length gown with an attached cape, and it is so easy to see why. I don’t see anyone else pulling this look like Solange. This wedding dress is so her, it suits her style and personality, I guess that is why she nailed the look so effortlessly.

Ciara

Ciara slayed it in this Roberto Cavalli dress designed by Peter Dundas. I love the style of the wedding dress; the detailing is superb, and it looks amazing on her.

This is obviously a very expensive dress, but I am sure there are similar less pricey alternatives for brides to be.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian also broke the internet with this stunning Haute Couture Givenchy. This dress is the TRUTH! It is great for those with a bit of curves; it will show off your figure in all the right places. I love it on her; she looked stunning.

What are your thoughts on the infographic? What do you think of these wedding dresses? Which is your favourite and why?

Spring Fashion Trends

Spring is here and just as every season comes with its temperature, it also comes with its fashion and style trends. So here is your ‘heads up post’, thank me later.

It is quite exciting to find out how far different items of clothing can evolve into something new, different, bold and spectacular. This spring is no exception.

So far, the spring fashion trends have shown a new height to creativity, there is a burst of colour, assortments of pattern and cuts.

For all the fashion conscious ones among us, some of the combinations you will see in this article may not come as much of a surprise, as some of the trends have showed up in one form or another in 2016. But of course, 2017 will come with its own kind of twists.

Here are some of the fashion trends you should look out for this spring.

  1. Stylish stripes

It seems like we’re going to be seeing a heavy dose of stripes this spring. The stripes make a great fashion statement especially when the stripes are moving in other directions other than the conventional horizontal or vertical stripes. This stripe trend also fits right into summer.

  1. Shoulders that make a statement

It is amazing to see how far fashion designers can go with what they can do in enhancing the shoulders. From off-shoulders and shoulder cuts to asymmetrical designs that fall over the shoulder and bold shoulders, there is hardly a style that has not been tried. And this spring, the shoulder trend is a single shoulder cut, so look around for that if you like.

  1. Bright cheerful colours

Spring has always been known to be a cheerful season. So seeing bright colours as part of the 2017 spring fashion trend was not surprising. Vibrant colours like yellow, and soft pastel colours like pink, seem to be some of the favourites this spring.

Bright colours have always made a statement and work great in the spring.

  1. Flashback to the 80’s

The iconic 80’s fashion is one that can never grow old. The 80’s outfits have been able to touch all the details that give definition to every piece. Floral patterns are bold against the backdrop of the bright spring vibes. Aside from the patterns, the interesting cuts that show of some skin have made its way to a good number of ensembles.

What are your thoughts on these spring fashion trends? Will you be rocking any of them?
