Self love is the best kind of love

*Collaborative post.

Loving ourselves unconditionally is really important. These days, it is so easy to compare ourselves and our lives with that of others. Social media makes it dead easy to scroll through the parts of our online friends’ carefully curated feed and wish our lives were as perfect as their lives. We see their perfectly filtered faces and bodies, and we wish we looked as good as they look. It is all nonsense. Social media is purely entertainment for me. I do find some of it informative but I know it is the curated life of others and not really the reality for many. Which is why I take what I see with a pinch of salt and focus on me.

Self-love is the best kind of love

Once you love your imperfect self unconditionally, you become free, free to just be you. You won’t obsess over what your online friends are doing with their lives or how perfect they look because you will be too busy living your imperfect life perfectly. We are all beautifully and wonderfully made, and we have our own uniqueness that makes us special. Focusing on that and loving every aspect of ourselves is how to fall deeper and deeper in love with our life.

Filtered lives online are becoming trendy. Many people feel like everyone else is living their best lives apart from them, but that is usually not the case. You never know what is really going on in the lives of others. What you see online is the version they are willing to share with their social media followers. It may not be their reality, which is why you should not envy others because you never really know. Instead, focus on you and shower yourself with love.

Self-love tips

Here are 4 self-love tips you may find very useful –

Embrace your quirks and all

We are all very special and we have certain aspects of ourselves that are uniquely ours. The foundation of loving yourself unconditionally is to embrace all parts of yourself. Most times we may be tempted to dumb down our quirks in other not to stand out too much but we should really be doing the opposite. For instance, if you are registered on dating websites, putting your quirks out there would make it easier to find your perfect mate.

Live intentionally

Now, this tip is a big one for me. I find that it is super easy to just take each day as it comes and not aspire to do anything ‘major’ with your life. Not living intentionally will do you no favours. You should aim high, dream big, and live every day intentionally.

Forgive yourself

Many of us would have made mistakes (or what we call mistakes) over the years. It is normal and all part of growing up. Forgiving yourself is really important when it comes to learning to love yourself unconditionally.

Set boundaries and protect yourself

With self-love, you need to set boundaries with others. Having healthy boundaries would protect you physically, mentally, and emotionally. You don’t want just anyone to have access to you or live in your head rent-free. Also, setting boundaries would help you say no when you need to say no, and get rid of people who do not want the best for you.

Do you have any self-love tips to share?

I have been running Fashion and Style Police since October 2012. It took me ages to figure out how to make a living from my blog. I still remember my first paid blogging collaboration. If you are wondering where to find sponsored posts and blogging collaborations you are reading the right post. I will be sharing 5 places to find paid blog collaborations so you can start making some money off your blog. We are all experiencing all sorts of things at the moment and with the whole working from home scenario, you now have the time to work even more on your blogs.

Where to find sponsored posts and blogging collaborations
Get Blogged

I have been working with Get Blogged for some months now and I really like how they operate. It is a great platform to find paid blogging gigs. There are sponsored posts opportunities for every type of blogs, even new blogs with a low domain authority. You need a domain authority of at least 10 to apply for jobs and the higher your domain authority is, the more opportunities for your blog and the more money you get. They also pay quickly and the briefs are always detailed and straightforward. I enjoy working with Get Blogged a lot. Register your blog and see for yourself.

Getfluence

I started working with Getfluence this year. It is another great platform to find well paid blogging collaborations. For this platform, you get contacted once an advertiser is interested in your blog. The payment is usually processed within 10 days once the blog post is live, and the blogging briefs are also very straightforward. It is always a pleasure working with Getfluence. You can register your blog and try the platform for yourself.

Bloggers Required

I have used Bloggers Required for years to find paid blogging jobs. I have worked with hundreds of brands through the platform. It is always a great spot to start looking for sponsored blog posts. There are loads of sponsored ads and you just register interest for the ads that work with your blog.

Twitter

Twitter is always a great platform to find paid blogging jobs. You can search for collaborations using #prrequest #journorequest #bloggerrequest and so on. You can also search for SEOs and PRs and give them a follow. If there is an email on their bio, sending a quick introductory email is another great way to get their eyeballs on your blog.

Facebook Groups

I find Facebook groups very useful for finding sponsored posts requests. Some great groups are “UK Influencer Opportunities” and “Blogger Opportunities”.

I hope you find this post useful and start making some money off your blog. If you are interested in growing your blog to the point where brands want to work with you, do contact me via email – fashionandstylepolice@gmail.com and take advantage of my blog coaching service.

Tips for coping in the heatwave

Coping in the heatwave has been hard. It has been very warm this week here in Cheshire, England. The weather has been so sunny and humid. It has been a struggle to stay comfortable indoors especially at nighttime. I don’t cope well in extremely warm temperatures. When it gets too warm, I struggle to stay on top of everything. The heat makes it ten times harder to concentrate but I have found some tips that have helped me cope better in the heatwave.

Tips for coping in the heatwave
Drink more water

I find myself drinking more water when it is warm, which is good. Drinking water regularly keeps me cool and hydrated. It also does wonders for my skin, leaving it clean and clear. You should also drink little cups of water here and there even when you don’t feel thirsty. This will replace all the fluids you are losing from sweat. Try to stick to drinking just water as much as possible.

Keep the blinds and curtains closed during the day

This helps keep the heat out, leaving your house cool, which helps you sleep better. Leaving the blinds and curtains down during the day is the oldest trick to deal with the heatwave.

Take regular cool showers

I take cool showers during the heatwave at least twice a day. This cools me down, gets rid of the sweat, and allows me to sleep better. The kids really enjoy cool showers too when it gets really warm. Try not to get the water too cold though so your body doesn’t react negatively. At the end of the day, you should be sticking to temperatures you are comfortable with.

Replace your duvet with a thinner fabric

When it gets really warm, I get rid of my duvet and use a thinner fabric as a cover up. It helps me sleep better.

Run your wrists under a cold tap

Running cold water on your wrists will lower your body temperature.

Wear light, loose clothing

Wearing light, loose clothing will keep you comfy when the weather gets really warm. In a heatwave, the last thing you want is to have to do with tight clothing soiled in sweat.

Spritz your face with water

This is one of my favourite things to do when the weather gets unbearable warm. Spritzing my face with cool water keeps my body temperature low. I like to keep my little bottle in the fridge so the water is cool for when I need it.

How are you coping in the heatwave? I can’t wait until it is all over and normal weather comes back. Please share your tips for coping in the heatwave.
