Product Review: Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black Toothpaste & Mouthwash

IMG_3299

Some months ago, I wrote about the importance of a beautiful smile, and how having one can do wonders to your self-esteem. If you missed that post, click here. I love the whole idea of having white teeth, and I am always on the lookout for new products to try, so when the guys at Beverly Hills Formula got in touch and offered to send me a toothpaste and mouthwash from the Perfect White Black range to review, I jumped at the offer. This was my first time, trying out a “black” toothpaste and mouthwash so I was eager to see the promised results for myself.

Here is what Beverly Hills Formula has to say about the range:

  • Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black toothpaste is our latest revolutionary whitening toothpaste that delivers professional tooth whitening results to help you achieve that all important “Hollywood smile” without the need for harsh abrasives and bleach.

  • Perfect White Black’s secret beauty weapon is the advanced ingredient activated charcoal, which is proven to be one of the most effective and safest teeth whitener ingredients.

  • Perfect White Black is scientifically formulated with Activated Charcoal which helps eliminate bacteria causing bad breath and neutralises remaining odours, leaving your breath feeling fresh all day long.
  • Activated Charcoal is also known for its love of tannins – compounds found in coffee, tea, wine, berries and spices, all of which stain your teeth; the Activated Charcoal helps remove tannins from the surface of your teeth without harming the enamel.
  • The Hydrated Silica combined with the Activated Charcoal offers high performance whitening boost that makes toothpaste safe for daily use.
  • Sodium Fluoride within Perfect White Black (0.31% w/w 1400ppmF) keeps your tooth enamel strong and healthy, effectively helps prevent caries and decay, and protects against acid attacks.
  • Perfect White Black toothpaste is available in 100ml and 125ml sizes.

I have used both products, everyday, for over a month now, here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. I love the very different dark packaging. It stands out.
  2. I love the minty fresh breath I get after using both products. The fresh breath stays on for quite a while unlike other toothpastes or mouthwashes
  3. The products are easily accessible in the UK at Superdrug, on Amazon and on the brand’s website, link above.
  4. My teeth felt very clean after each use.
  5. My teeth do not feel as sensitive as before, so I believe the toothpaste and mouthwash helped with my sensitivity issues.
  6. The black colour isn’t an issue. It starts off as black, but changes to a normal white colour as you brush.
  7. I find the whole shaking of the mouthwash to activate the charcaol very cool. I have never used anything like it.

CONS

  1. I didn’t notice any change in the colour of my teeth, which was the main goal I was aiming for. I used both products everyday for over a month, and there has been no change in the colour of my teeth whatsoever.
  2. The products are quite pricey at £4.49 for a 500ml mouthwash and £4.99 for a 100ml toothpaste.

Overall, I do recommend both products for generally teeth/mouth cleaning, if you can fork out the money, why not.

What do you think? Have you tried any of these products before?

Product Review: Hot Hair Brigette 3/4 Instant Weave

FSP

I received this Brigette 3/4 wig from the lovely people of Hot Hair some weeks ago and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. This wig is known to be quite popular with the celebs. Apparently, The GC (Gemma Collins from TOWIE) can’t live without hers, and I am not surprised. It is a high quality synthetic wig that looks and feels very natural.

Hot Hair

Before I tell you anymore, here is what Hot Hair had to say about the product:

Our most popular ¾ piece, inspired by the likes of Cheryl Cole and the object of everyone’s attention, Brigette is a deluxe hairpiece featuring luxuriously thick layers which add incredible length and volume in an instant. Easy to attach, the Brigette comes on a flexible comb attachment which you simply slide into your hair and is perfect for nights out, parties and weddings. Length is 26″ from the crown of the head.

Hot Hair Instant Weave

Here are my thoughts on this wig:

PROS

  1. I love the packaging. It came in a pretty box.
  2. The instant wig looks and feels amazing. The hair is soft and easy to style.
  3. This wig does not shred. I ran my fingers through it a couple of times, and not a single strand came off. Great quality.
  4. I love the length, it is perfect for me. I will happily wear to a wedding, or on a night out.
  5. The original RRP is £110 but it is currently on sale for £88 (20% off) which is a great deal. Some may find this pricey but I say quality comes at a price.
  6. This instant wig is so easy to install, the two extra long combs at the top and bottom just need sliding in to secure in place.
  7. The wig came in Ebony 02 like I requested, and it is the perfect colour for my hair.
  8. I love the fact that I can rock this wig with hair bands and without.
  9. It is a ‘memory’ wig, which simply means the wig will return to its original style after a wash so no need for heat styling, which is great.

CONS

  1. This wig comes with two extra long combs as you can see above, but what it does not come with are adjustable straps, which I believe provide extra security. It felt in place and secure with the combs, but the straps just make me feel more confident that it won’t fly off my head.

Hair Review

I recommend this Brigette 3/4 wig by Hot Hair to all the wig lovers out there. It is a fabulous wig to have and I got compliments from a lot people. This is the best instant weave I have ever had in my life, and I mean that.

Beauty Muse – Malika Haqq

Malika Haqq

The stunning Malika Haqq is the Beauty Muse of the week. Herself and her twin (Khadijah) are two beautiful black women I admire. They always look good; their hair, outfit, and makeup is always on point. I will be featuring her twin sister at some point, but for now let’s drool over Malika.

Malika-Haqq1

She has a spotless skin, and a lovely smile. Her hair game is also something I admire a lot. She pretty much wears the same style every time but it is her signature look and she looks good rocking it. I saw an episode of the new reality series – ‘Dash Dolls’ (I think episode 2) on E, and Kim Kardashian was kind of dissing her, asking her who makes her hair and all that, and I was wondering what she was on about. Malika needs to pay her no mind, her hair and everything else about her is flawless.

Speaking of ‘Dash Dolls’, I find it so very boring. The nobodies store girls running around like headless chickens with their boyfriends don’t appeal to me. It feels like a chore watching it. I would rather watch a show centered around Malika and Khadijah, and see more of their lives, like Tia and Tamara’s show, than watch a bunch of young girls crashing their pink Bentley and running around the city, but that is a topic for another day.

Back to our Beauty Muse, what do you think of her? Drop me a comment, let’s talk.

Thanks for reading.
