So how do we ensure we stay happy and satisfied with all the craziness in the world? For some people that means becoming more mindful but for others it’s trying a calming remedy or piece of music. Finding what works for you is key when it comes to stuff like this and often it never hurts to try both or several solutions at a time. Here are 5 tips that have worked for me. You may find they work for you too.

Keep my circle small

There are a lot of people who want us in their lives for the wrong reasons. I am glad I am able to see through these people and stay far away from them. The last thing anyone needs is to have a toxic person around constantly or be around people who truly do not wish you well for whatever reason. Keeping my circle small means I don’t have to deal with those people. And it works great for my state of mind. Keeping your circle small and tight is one way of staying on top of your happiness.

My circle is so small that it only comprises of family and a few friends. I still relate with different people outside my circle but in a different way. It works great for me.

Follow my passion

My joy keeps me very happy. The fact that I am my own boss and I can do as I please never gets old for me. Following my passion keeps me fulfilled. Working long hours in a. job I have zero interest in would suck away all my happiness. Following your passion and doing a job you love is a great way to stay in control of your life and stay happy.

Listen to good music

Some that know me well in real life know that I am a sucker for good music. I am forever listening to songs on my Spotify. I listen to all sorts of genres, from Rap to pop, from R&B to African Jams. Music is like food to my soul and it feeds me. I would be lost without great music.

Travel

I love travelling. If I had an unlimited budget, I would visit a new country every month. I have been to a couple of countries and I have a long list of countries I want to visit or revisit. I have been to Dubai, Italy, US, Spain, Germany, France, Amsterdam, Ireland and many more. There are still many cities in these countries I would love to explore some more and I am dying to go somewhere new before the year ends. Travel and experiencing how other people live in their world makes me very happy.

Stay grateful and have a positive outlook

Gratitude is everything which is why I always remember to stay grateful. Regardless of what life throws at me, I ensure I stay positive and thankful. Negative energy has no space in my world, which is why there is no room for toxic people in my life. Staying grateful and having a positive outlook helps you attract more good things into your life.

Having a gratitude journal does help. It makes sense to write down 10 things you are grateful for regularly. That way you remember how blesses you are and stay grateful.

I hope you find these tips useful. These are just a few ways I stay happy and fulfilled. I could go on and on with these tips. Exercise, good food and my beauty sleep also help me stay happy. And I am sure you have many ways of staying on top of your happiness. Please feel free to share your own tips in the comments section. And remember to share this post. It may help someone struggling.

Thank you for reading.

Finding Your Feet

Finding your feet in a career is sometimes hard to do, so first, you need to find your feet in life. You need to know what interests you, and what you really couldn’t care about when it comes to work. You shouldn’t move through careers trying to find which one suits you. The best thing to do is to try volunteering work alongside your normal career to find out what you like the best. If you know what sparks an interest in you, you know what you need to work towards!

A lot of people benefit highly from doing volunteer work. Not just because it allows them to follow a path that they enjoy, but also because they can get vital experience, and potentially ease the process of being able to find a job in that line of work. Don’t worry however if finding your feet takes you awhile. The process can be slow, but the outcome at the end of it will be more than worth it.

Getting What You Need

Getting what you need to move forward with your career is essential. If you want to make it your last move, and you want to go into a job that you truly love, it sometimes means that you’ll have to enrol onto a course to get some qualifications. A lot of adults do this, as pretty much every course you could want to take can be done online. For example, you can take a advanced msw program which is all online. This will then give you the qualification that you need to move into a career in social care.

Considering social care is such a rewarding career. And people usually have to go to university to get into that line of work, you’re getting a pretty good deal. Yes, you might have to spend some money, and dedicate some time outside of your usual working hours to do it. But, once it’s done, it’s done!

Progressing Through The Ranks

This is the final step in the process. If you’re going to move into a new career, staying at the bottom will probably see you getting a little bit bored quicker than you might think. What you need to do is find a way to progress, so that not only your pay packet gets more appealing, but the role becomes more interesting.

Is there a career you are thinking of getting into? What is stopping you?

Interior Decorating Best Kept Secrets

*Collaborative post.

Decorating and re-decorating your home can be really fun. It’s amazing how little adjustments can make a huge difference to the room.

However, not many people have an eye for design. That’s why it’s good to have some handy tips that will help you make the best interior design choices.

Over the years interior designers have formulated some interior décor hacks that they kept secret. I came across some which will help make a difference to your interior decorating.

  1. Base your colour scheme on a focal item

Deciding on the right set of colours to decorate your room can be a bit tricky. And sometimes when you do come up with your “ideal” set of colours, you find out that your furniture doesn’t match your colour scheme by the time you bring it in.

A clever insider secret to interior décor is to base your colour scheme on a focal item in your room. For example, if the most prominent item in your room is a turquoise and gold mural, then the colour scheme of your room should include turquoise and gold.

  1. Create height

Not many homes were constructed with high ceilings. High ceilings give the illusion of more space. But when you’re faced with a room with low ceilings, then furnishing it with low furniture will help give your room some balance. Low furniture like chairs, couches and coffee tables should have shorter legs to make the ceiling of the room look a lot higher than what it really is.

  1. Bring the investment pieces up front

When you walk into the room there should be a statement piece that will draw you into the room. A statement piece usually defines the mood of a room. Invest in a large beautiful painting on the wall or smart antique furniture as they make excellent statement pieces. Once you have them in your room don’t keep them hidden in the background. Bring them up front and let the room light up with their presence. living room furniture collections

  1. Invest in a quality sofa

Don’t skimp on your sofa. That’s where you and your guests will spend most of their time when they come to visit. So, you must invest in a quality sofa to give your room or living area a comfy feel. Make sure that the sofa you choose is comfortable and made of quality materials that will last long and not wear out quick. Best to shop for great living room furniture collections when furnishing the home.

  1. Strategically hang your mirrors

Mirrors, especially the decorative type, can make a room look really charming and sophisticated. However, interior designers see mirrors as more than just a decorative item. A mirror can be used as a tool to help in your interior decoration. When placed in strategic locations, a mirror can make a room look a lot larger than it really is. If the room you want to decorate doesn’t let in much natural light, you can place a mirror directly opposite the window to reflect the light to the whole room. This makes your room naturally brighter.
