5 ways to step up your online business without getting credit

I’m always happy when I see new entrepreneurs spring up. It’s nice to know many people realize having a business is the way to go. Working at a 9 to 5 job does not work for many, and no matter how hard you work you may never derive true satisfaction from it.

Of course there will be ups and downs. I’ve personally gone through many issues whilst running my own business. Sometimes you’ll come across circumstances where you will not have enough funds to keep your business afloat. In such a situation you need to act fast and boost your business before it hits rock bottom.

If you’re in such a situation, don’t worry. I have a solution. Here are 5 ways you can step up your online business without getting credit.

  1. Pitch like your life depends on it

If you want to step up your business you need to make sure that you are making sales. Whether you have products to sell or you offer services, you need to constantly pitch your product or service to others.

Many people are afraid of pitching and in the light of the recent events, I don’t blame them. They don’t want to appear pushy or annoying when they pitch so they step back and hope that someone will come along. But it may take forever for that to happen, so I like to take matters into my own hands, and pitch to carefully selected companies.

Those who do really well in their businesses are those who are not afraid to pitch their products and services.

  1. Focus on giving value

Although it’s important for you to pitch your products and services, you also need to realize that there is a right and wrong way of doing it. Most people take the route of being like door-to-door salesmen focusing only on what they will gain. You can only boost your business when your primary focus is on giving value.

Tell your potential clients how your products and services can help them. Make it more about them and less about you. Show them how it will add value to their lives. This doesn’t work only for sales. Giving value could come in so many forms. The idea is to ensure that you are helping your clients and that you genuinely care about their business.

  1. Collaborate with bigger players in your niche

There are business owners in your niche who are doing better than you. Think of ways the two of you can partner in a project or create a product together. This will help foster mutual growth in both your businesses. Through the collaboration, you not only get increased patronage you also get additional publicity.

  1. Promote your online business

There are several platforms where you can be featured to draw more attention to your brand. When nobody knows who you are, it becomes even more difficult to sell what you offer.

Write blog posts in major publications so that more people can get to know you. Big publications have a large readership that will give you the needed exposure. Speaking engagements are another way to showcase yourself and your expertise. Which will help you build an audience interested in your products and services.

  1. Network

I can’t begin to express how helpful networking has been for me and my business. Networking helps you establish new relationships with people who may be interested in what you offer. Networking helps create more opportunities for you to increase your exposure, which will bring in more business in time.

These are 5 ways to step up your online business without getting credit. It does take time for these actions to result into paid work, but they are tried and tested ways that work.

Networking Tips for the Self-employed

office image

One of the best ways to position yourself as an expert, get new clients and grow your business is to network. You need to learn how to make strong connections with people.
When you network, you put yourself in the midst of people who are your potential clients, those who are in the same niche as you and those you can partner with. With this in mind, you need to make good use of the opportunity you have to network with people. Because of the importance networking has to freelancers and small business owners, I’ve put together a few tips to make each networking experience profitable.
1.    Set a clear goal or purpose for networking
Although networking can be fun and quite informative, you should not forget the real reason why you’re doing it. For this reason you need to have a clearly defined goal you want to achieve at the end of the networking event or meetup. This will keep you focused and encourage you to be strategic about what you talk about and how you conduct yourself to achieve that goal. But remember to have fun in the process. It’s not necessary to be so formal while networking.
2.    Master your elevator pitch
I first heard about the elevator pitch on a Pro Blogger podcast. I have mastered it since then and use it every day to sign up new clients. When you walk up to people or when people approach you, it is likely that they’ll ask you what you do for a living or what business you’re into. Make sure that you know you have your elevator pitch ready. An elevator pitch is a short description of what business you’re into, what you do, who your clients are and what you do for them.
Take time to plan and rehearse your elevator pitch before networking. You have 60 seconds to make a good impression, so make it count.
3.    Keep the conversation going with open-ended questions
Nobody likes an awkward silence, especially when you try to start a conversation with someone. Conversations that are engaging and memorable create a deep connection with the person you’re talking to.
Develop the skill of asking open-ended questions. Open-ended questions are questions that encourage people to answer with sentences.  They encourage a conversation unlike close-ended questions which encourage a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. When you ask open-ended questions you prompt the person to speak more and that keeps the conversation going, which is great for you.
4.    Always carry your business card
When you meet someone who is a potential client or someone you want to connect with in the future, it’s a good practice to share your business card with them. Your business card contains all of your contact details written in one place. It makes you look professional and it saves you the time you would have spent to bring out your phone, share your phone number and store the other person’s number in your phone. I never leave my house without some business cards.
5.    Be yourself
When you’re surrounded by so many accomplished people, there’s a natural urge for you to try to fit in so you won’t feel left out. However, it’s so much easier to just be yourself. Do not forget your true self all in the name of trying to impress a couple of people. Be real. Stay authentic, but polite. Those who will be your clients or friends will love and appreciate you for who you are.

So this is a great way to make some cool money by the side, don’t you agree? Like I said previously, you could decide to grow your network by simply getting people to join in your distribution network, and/or, you could also sell the products if you want.

Here is the breakdown of the products you could be selling. Please note, prices are subject to change:

C24/7 – N3,800/ £13 for 30 Capsules

This is very high in antioxidants, formulated by a team of 200 medical doctors, herbalists and pharmacists. A super supplement which even contains 12 different whole fruits and vegetables. Many moons ago we were told that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, these days it has  changed from 1 apple to 5 different fruits and vegetables a day, and now to 7 different fruits and vegetables a day.

Many of us cannot keep up with 7 fruits and vegetables a day. I am happy if I get up to 3 a day. This is where C24/7 comes in. Apart from the fruits and vegetables, it contains minerals, vitamins, mushrooms ( which helps prevent cancer), digestive enzymes, essential fatty acids, longevity polyphenols, amino acids and so on. It is formulated to work in the cellular level, and it also helps protect cell damage.

CHOLEDUZ – N2,600/£9 for 30 Capsules

Liven Arabica Coffee Image

Alkaline drinks are a healthier option as they reduce the level of acidity in the body. So this alkaline coffee in 3 lovely flavours – Original, Latte and Cappuccino, is right up my street. The best part of this coffee is that it contains little or no caffeine. As a coffee lover, I drink at least a cup of day, so drinking a cup of this will sort out my caffeine fix, and I won’t take in as much caffeine as I would have with a regular coffee. I will be trying this most definitely.

MY CHOCO – N1,700/£6 for 20 Sachets

My Choco Image

My CHOCO is a chocolate fruit and vegetable replacement beverage for kids who do not enjoy having their fruits and veggies. It contains fruits and veggies plus DHA, which is great for strengthening the immune system.

So there you have them, the lovely products you could be selling if you decide to go on the sales route. There are at least 7 different ways to earn money in this business; You can decide to take part in all the different ways or stick with the ones that suit your needs and your lifestyle.

1) Buy and sell earn 25% mark off of the retail price.
2) Referral bonus
3) Matching bonus
4) Uni level bonus
5)Stair step bonus
6) Royalty bonus and
7) Profit share

1,4,5,6 and 7 have to do with selling, re-odering and getting bonuses from sales. While 2 and 3 have to do with the company paying you immediately when you build your own network by introducing others to the wonderful business opportunities available. You don’t need to sell a single product to take part in 2 and 3.

The start up capital required is quite reasonable. There 3 possible ways to start the business, you can start with N36,000/£127, N108,000/£381 or N252,000/£890. It all depends on what you can afford to start with.

For the lowest budget of N36,000/£127, you get a start up kit which includes a pack of all the products listed above, and then you can decide how you want to build your network and dsistribution. There are no conditions, no deadlines nor obligatory monthly purchases. It is virtually stress free. Your only competition is the target you set for yourself.

If you want to get involved, and earn some money by the side or quit your 9-5 bondage job and create your own income streams, get in touch with Grown by Nature, or send them an email – grownbynature15@gmail.com, and one of the representatives will get back to you with more information on how to start off your own business.
