OOTD: A Blogger Event Outfit

fashion-outfit-image

Have you told you how much I love my leopard print sandal? It first appeared here on the casual daywear look outfit post and I have worn it so many times now. It looks good with so many pieces in my wardrobe and it is dead easy to style. I get so many lovely compliments when I wear it, I guess that is because it stands out in a pretty way.

I wore this outfit to a fashion and beauty event in Chester over the weekend. I wanted a casual chic look so I went for a  simple black top with a pair of skinny jeans, paired with cream sunnies, gold and brown bag and sandals. I like to black safe when it comes to press events so I usually for a black piece because it blends right in. You would hardly see me rocking colour at an event. Don’t ask me why….

Let me tell you just incase you were wondering, I love dark pieces and I think it always looks good but doesn’t usually stand out. I like looking good but not standing out at work related events (well not much) at events, and that is the reason why you won’t catch me wearing colour at press events.

The event was fun. It is my first press event this year and I had an amazing time. I was the only blogger invited to the event on that particular day so it felt kind of exclusive and I love that about it. I met some amazing people and I am going to tell you all about in the next couple of days, so be on the lookout for the post.

August 2016 Outfits

As we say goodbye to August, I reflect on how the month was for Fashion and Style Police. It was an exciting month for outfits and everything else. I had fun styling various pieces, and collaborating with a few brands. This August will definitely be remembered for all the right reasons.

Here is a quick recap on my outfits in August –

OOTD: Casual Day Wear Look

Casual Daywear Style Image

This casual day wear look was the first outfit for the month of August. I enjoyed styling this outfit because almost everything I had on was new, so it was fun playing with new pieces. The highlight of this outfit for me was the Sam Edelman leopard print platform sandals. It was my first time wearing it (got it on sale, wink wink) and it looked beautiful paired with the dress. I like how relaxed this outfit looks. It looks effortlessly chic.

This is another outfit I really enjoyed styling. I was going for another relaxed look with this outfit, and I think I nailed it. The highlight here for me is the River Island sandals. I have fallen completely in love with this beauty. The Quiz coral top is also a beauty.

OOTD: Lace in Peplum

This outfit is all about the gorgeous pink lace peplum top by Quiz. It was clearly the highlight of the outfit. I love how easy it was to style this outfit. The beautiful top did all the work.

OOTD: Style Comfort Zone

This outfit was a style challenge collaboration with Boohoo, and I enjoyed stepping out of my style comfort zone, wearing this silver slip dress by the brand. It was a fun look.

OOTD: Chi Chi London Dress

Black Lace Dress Image

This outfit post was the last outfit for August and the most viewed outfit post for the month so far. It is also my favourite look for August. I look how glam it looks. The highlight of this outfit is definitely the black lace Chi Chi London dress. It is a beauty.

Which is your favourite outfit for the month of August?

Thank God the weekend is here at last, and I can show off this outfit of the day aka ootd: lace in peplum. This week has been so hard. I am extremely happy today is Saturday and I get to put my feet up. You have no idea how excited I am. It has been an extremely busy week with me juggling my life, blog and my freelance jobs. I am thankful to be this busy but I think I need to schedule in some proper ‘me’ time so I don’t breakdown, lol.

The thing about working for yourself is if you do not know where to draw the line, you will be working every minute you are awake, and I mean serious working – the fastest way to collapse….

I have decided to start taking my wellbeing a little more seriously, for the sake of my health and my career. I am not useful to anyone if I fall ill so easy does it going forward. I am going to relax a little and find some time to unwind without any gadget around me, like a holiday digital detox. So no laptops, phones, tablets or camera. I may schedule that for this weekend at some point, so don’t be too surprised if no new post is uploaded until Monday.

Enough of me moaning, back to the fun stuff now, I wore this outfit some days ago. The sandals and top are new wardrobe additions, and I adore them both.

The pink crochet lace peplum top is an excellent fit. I love the lace design and the pink colour is fab. It is a chic piece. I love the fact that I can style it in various ways.

The khaki tie-up suede block heel sandals is also fabulous. I love the tie-up design and the gold accent heel, which is a perfect height for me. The khaki colour is also pretty and new colour in my wardrobe. I can see myself rocking these two for many years to come.
